Great price. BULKY

I purchased 2of these seats for my grandsons and although its a great item overall, I am forced to look for another brand/ model that will fit in my Toyota Venza(crossover) because when its installed according to manufacturer's directions ( facing backward and reclining so to make sure it's level) I am concerned for my safety. My knees are right on the steering column and I'm 5'6"!!!

It's okay!
August 14, 2012
It's okay. We use it daily and our son seems pretty comfortable in it, but it definitely took a little messing with to get the best results. Not sure I'd buy it again even though it was reasonably priced and works okay. We tried it first as a rear-facing seat in keeping with the stats that it was safer that way. Our son was still under the weight limit for forward facing though he was close and over a year old. it didn't work at all that way, maybe in other cars it would be okay (we have a CRV). It didn't recline very far so our son couldn't sleep in it without falling quite a bit forward, which didn't seem safe or comfortable. After a week I switched it to be forward facing which vastly improved our satisfaction. The next thing we did was cut out the extra head/neck support. It should come with a Velcro opening to make it easy to remove as the child gets bigger. The support was attached to the straps so if the child moves at all it slides down their back, again forcing them once again to lean further forward than we were comfortable with. Be sure to use the strap covers it comes with otherwise your child with have a very irritated neck. Ocasionally those slide out of position and our son has really red marks that look like the straps realy cut into him. There were more cons than pros for us, but still the seat serves its purpose and seems pretty rugged.
Pros:
Works fine as a forward facing seat for our 17 month old. Straps are easy to adjust Rugged Easy to install
Cons:
Hard to remove fabric to clean Does not recline very far Didn't work well for us as a rear facing seat The neck/head insert wasn't easily removed Straps dig into child's neck occasionally

Solid Car Seat

Good carseat. The only downside is that the buckles keep getting twisted. Very sturdy and my baby loves the little cup holder! Good and inexpensive

I love it
May 27, 2012
Bought this seat for my first son. I was able to rearface him until he was 2. He is 4 now and it is still growing with him. My second son is ready to come out of his infant seat so I will be getting another. Seat is a good size, safe, easy to use. I like that I get all the carseats I need all-in- one so I shouldn't have to buy another. People that say it is massive havn't seen the other seats out there that don't last half as long as this one and you cann't beat the $80 price tag. I like that the headrest lifts with the belt without taking it apart. I have to move mine all the time and it is work but not any worse than anyother carseat.
Pros:
I like that I get all the carseats I need all-in-one. I like that the headrest lifts with the belt without taking it apart. Latch system $80 price tag
Cons:
Dark colors- it is hot in Florida and dark carseats get hotter in the car.

Good
May 13, 2012
I bought this as I have two new grandchildren and was looking for a good quality car seat that could be used for several years meeting all the regulations and standards.
Pros:
It will meet the different size requirements of the kids saving me money not having to buy more than one size of car seat.
Cons:
A little difficult to get ready for placement in the car, but once in place, completely satisfied.

Great price for a great seat!
April 17, 2012
Our twin boys got real big, real fast! So by 8 months, they'd out grown their infant seats. Time to shop again! As a mom of twins, just being thrifty is still too expensive for me! So, the goal - a convertible seat (so we'd only have to buy two more carseats) that could be rear facing and a belt adjusting booster that would work for as big of a child as possible all for under $85. Enter - Safety 1st. I read some reviews about how it was difficult to install/operate. Unfortunately, I think those folks have expectations that these things operate themselves. I can get the boys in and out and into their stroller within 5 minutes. These aren't really any different than buckling the boys into their Evenflo infant seats, and actually its a little easier. Admitedly, adjusting the straps takes some patience at first (they loosen from the shoulder instead of the hip like the infant seats did), but once you get the hang of it, all is well. Installing them rear facing was a breeze, and thank heavens for the LATCH system! Everything wipes up pretty well, too. The boys love being in the car - they can see out of the window, and the seat is open enough that they don't get too hot. They're comfortable, sleep every time we put them in the car for any length of time, and overall, this was the best buy for my already stretched dollar I could have asked for. I would reccommend this seat to anyone - paying more is just silly when they all have to meet the same safety standards!
Pros:
Ability to hold bigger kids for a longer period of time once we convert to boosters. Looks great - Unisex - I'd have no problems putting girls in this seat. Cup holder, head pillow, strap covers - it's comfortable
Cons:
The strap adjustment took a little getting used to, but once we got it, it's been fine ever since.

Love this carseat!
April 17, 2012
This carseat was available in stores for about $30 more. We were happy to find such a good deal. The car seat is perfect for our son, and we like that we won't need to buy another one again. I wouldn't reccomend it as a rear facing seat since it is so large, but its perfect for forward. Then again, that could just be the way the seats in our Malibu are situated. It can be a little tough manuvering it into place, but my husband and I work together and are able to get it so snug in the car that the car actually rocks when I jiggle the seat. My son loves being able to see out the front now!
Pros:
Sturdy, high weight limit
Cons:
A pain in the neck jockeying from one car to the next because its so large. It's pretty much going to stay where its at in the car unless there is an emergency.

WE LOVE THIS CARSEAT!
April 12, 2012
We love this carseat! This is actually the fourth we've purchased for our household (2 per car) and 6th total since we've purchased 2 for the grandparents to have in their vehicle.
Pros:
Easy to install but needed to tape 3 pool tubes together for rear facing since our vehicle seats are reclined to make it level.
Cons:
Love it all!

Another great Albee Baby Buy
April 12, 2012
Bought this for my niece. PERFECT convertible car seat. Although, massive (translation: super safe) this seat is fabulous for an infant who is too big for her infant carrier and still needs to rear face. I personally have 2 others (of the same style seat, different pattern in my car) and swear by them. Great seat that will grow with a child, and can be the last seat you ever need as it also transitions to a forward facing booster with 5pt harness and a regular booster. HIGHLY RECOMMEND, and you won't find a better price--scored this for half of the retail price with free shipping, you cannot go wrong with this buy. Fits perfectly in a sedan as well as an SUV, but cannot, will not, because of its size go in many smaller cars rear-facing...just an fyi:)
Pros:
Versatility Safety Ease of Installation
Cons:
Will not fit in smaller vehicles rear facing.

great! but big!
April 6, 2012
We love this seat because my son is so much more comfortable in it than he was in his old one. He doesn't hate traveling so much anymore. But, it is so big, in our SUV, we have to install it in on the passenger side in the back, then nobody can really sit in the passenger front.
Pros:
comfort for baby, versatile
Cons:
it is too big, and kinda complicated.

Wonderful, my little girl loves this seat. She thinks she is such a big girl. I feel very safe when she is in it. I actually ordered two, for both cars.
