Safe and comfy, but has some issues...
September 14, 2012
Like a friend of mine told me- almost right out of the 'gate', the head pads were too tight. I thought maybe her baby had a big head, but even my baby w/ a 33% head circumference only could use it for a month or so. We then had to use a rolled up towel for another month before I finally felt good about just letting her be in there w/ nothing. She seems comfortable enough in the seat- at about 1.5 months, I switched the crotch strap to the bigger one as she was over 10 lbs then and getting her in was starting to be a pain.
Speaking of, that's why I couldn't give a higher rating (I'd probably give 4 stars if it was just her comfort in the seat, lightness of product and safety). It's such a pain to get her in and out. While there is a lever to loosen and tighten the straps that is easily done, it just seems like they don't loosen enough and I still have to work too hard to get her out. I'm always mentally comparing this to my Chicco, which I had w/ my first children.
I didn't really notice that I could actually adjust the level to make her sit the right way, her head was trying to flop forward- finally figured out that if you unstrap the base, you can adjust it there.
Everything is so noisy too, the clicks of the buckles, adjusting the handle bar and clicking it into the car ALWAYS wakes her up if I'm lucky enough for her to be sleeping.
I don't dislike it enough to get a new one for the several months my baby will still be in her seat, but it's no chicco.
Cons:hard to buckle
hard to get baby in and out
