We love this car seat
April 15, 2012
We recently purchased this car seat based on tons of research and deciding this is one of, if not the safest, convertible seat on the market. So far we love it! On sight alone you can tell it cushions your baby in safety. The seat itself seems very comfortable. The materials seem quality. Getting our son in and out of the seat is easy. The only difference I could tell between this seat and the lesser priced Marathon is the side safety feature. I talked to an expert and she told me this feature does nothing for the child in the seat, but helps protect the passengers next to the seat. Some think this is a waste but I do not since I want to protect all passengers in my car as much as I can. I also plan to have more kids so the child in the seat now will be a passenger one day.
As for the cons, there is the price of course. Although for me, money spent on safety is well worth whatever we have to sacrifice for it. The installation seemed complex to me, but I feel that way about all car seats. So I took it to a local nonprofit specializing in car seat safety and they installed it perfectly for a small donation. The seat is also very large. It fits well in our Honda Pilot, but not sure about a Sedan. The woman who installed it for us said it would fit fine in a Honda Accord for example. I just imagine it would be tight if placed behind one of the front seats.
All in all, after tons of research (I'm a freak about that especially concerning safety) I have found this car seat to be an excellent purchase. I would definitely recommend it to anyone wanting safety and quality for their child. The price is worth the peace of mind and extra protection.
Pros:*Safest car seat out there according to extensive research
*Easy to get my child in and out of it
*Safer for passengers riding next to the car seat
Cons:*Some would say price, but I don't agree because I think the price is worth the safety.
*Installation is complex, but I think that about all car seats so I take them to a professional. Local hospitals and law enforcement will do it for free.
*Seat is very large, but fits well in our Honda Pilot and according to the expert I spoke with does fit in a sedan (she used the Honda Accord as an example)
