I love the idea of this product but it is not loud enough at all so it sort of defeats the purpose, sadly I can't return it and am now stuck with a very expensive teddy. I was looking forward to this as everything else about it seems ok

Only plays for 20 minutes, not even one baby sleep cycle, not long enough at all.
No volume adjustment and volume is too low, not loud enough for car or pram use.
Velcro very poor and does not hold to itself around pram.
Toy is very cute which is why I bought it but completely impractical if looking to use as portable white noise.

This cute & super soft sloth is a perfect add on for any baby nursery.

My mom bought this for my son shortly after he was born, he is now 20 months & carries one with him all the time. We have 7 of them now. Lol. They are so soft & the music box is awesome, we play music for him when he falls asleep. He calls it his kitty.

I bought this for my grandson. The sounds are very soothing and I like that the parents will be able to record their own voices to sooth the baby which activates to the baby's cries.

It is very loud. With my five month old sharing a room with his sibling it makes it difficult to use properly. And I can hear it through the baby monitors very loudly making it hard to hear anything else.

My Aunt bought this for my baby. Just replaced the batteries after piling the tab. Now my sloth is stuck in demo mode. I'm very disappointed.

I purchased this for my son who is 5 months old. It takes too many steps to use the cry activation feature. I was so excited to use it for that reason, but won't be doing so.

My grandmother got this for my 5 month old for Christmas, but I wish I had thought to look at product reviews before she spent her money. The cry sensor is a joke, my baby was wailing and it just continued to blink. DO NOT BUY if looking for a sound activated soother.

We had this set up and it turned on when our baby started to cry, it worked great. Though it's really not loud at all. Second time, it plays a song less than 2 minutes. Worked well once.

Don't purchase this as a soother/ noise machine for baby. The sound plays for 20 min max. There's no way to increase the duration and 20 min is not enough time to soothe a baby. Ive not been able to get the cry activator to work. Sloth is on the crib next to baby's head and not sure if it's not picking up the sound as a cry or what. I've not tried to record my voice but there's no point of the cry activation doesn't work. Additionally as others have noted, there's a blue light that indicates the feature is on. This light is very bright in a dark room. My baby is 6 weeks old so his crib is in my bedroom and the blue light is intense and it stimulates the baby. Do not buy this, I wish I hadn't.

This was a complete disappointment. I followed instructions but couldn't get it to record anything. It plays music but for such a short amount of time that it doesn't help my baby settle down at all. When the cry activated feature is on, a blue light blinks that is so bright it keeps my baby more alert and fussy. After several desperate attempts to get this to help sooth my baby, I gave up. I wish I hadn't wasted my money.

My daughter and son-in-law love this baby gift. They just welcomed a new baby and can't wait to record their voices into the "sloth" and watch how their baby girl reacts.

This cry soother sloth is so cute. The material is soft. It plays different soothing sounds along with different lullabies. I also recorded my voice and chuckle when playing it because I can see my little one looking at it confused. It's the cutest thing.

I bought this almost 4 months ago and the motor has gone and even with new batteries it just whines instead of making the correct noises. I have also gone through over 48 batteries and was unimpressed with the battery life. I guess it is now just a ridiculously expensive stuffy that no longer does anything else.

I love sloths and if I have anything to do about it my grandson will too! This super soft sloth is a great addition to our "let try to sleep" routine. It responds to cries with either sounds or songs. You can also record your voice but we haven't tried it yet. The sounds seem to do the trick! Definitely recommend.

I'm very happy with how well the Skip Hop Sloth Cry-Activated Soother works to comfort my son. The 3 lullabies and 3 sounds are so soft and soothing to him. I love that I can record my voice so that he thinks I'm always right there. That calms him temporarily as I'm walking to his room. It works so well at sensing that he's crying and has worked everytime. It's helped us all have a more peaceful experience during bedtime!

This sloth is beyond adorable. His sounds are so soothing for baby. The voice recording only makes him even better. He is a nice large size that makes him an adorable addition to the crib decor. Portable too, so he goes on many outings with us as well.

This little sloth is so adorable. With the soothing noises it helps comfort baby to sleep. The cry activated soother option is pretty neat - make sure you turn it off when you leave the room with baby though. It is sensitive! We were in the living room, baby cried, and it turned on in his room. I am not a fan of the fact when the cry sensor is on there is a flashing blue light. In a dark room it is pretty obvious and I think it bothered my baby. I also wish the buttons were easier to distinguish from each other. Trying to fumble around in the dark you can't tell what you're pushing. Otherwise we love this thing!

It took me a bit to figure out how to record ...I'm not super tech savvy. But after doing it the first time, it makes sense and seems easy. It is good to hang this on the outside of the crib...so baby can't grab and pull it down. The volume is a bit high on it and I wish I could turn it down to a more quiet, soothing volume. Occasionally, cries do not activate it. Most of the time they do but there's been a hand full of times I've heard the cry but the sloth doesn't play music.

I can't say enough about our Cry-activated soother! It's seriously the cutest thing. The sloth is super soft and just adorable. I love how it just hangs on my baby's crib. It has soothing sounds, nature sounds and I can even record my voice! I mean how amazing is that! When my baby starts crying it instantly starts working because of the cry activation. It will start playing soothing sounds to calm my little guy down. I love how it just works for my baby's cries and not any other sound around it. It really does calm my little guy down when he starts crying and it automatically starts playing the sounds or even the sound of my voice that we have recorded. It's super adorable and so nice to have. I love that when my baby gets older he can just use it as his new friend and carry it around with him. I have recommended it to friends and family and we have had several people compliment it how how adorable it is!

I have both the unicorn and the sloth but I think the Skip Hop Sloth Cry Activated Soother is my favorite. He has an unbelievably sweet face. It works as if it were magic and honestly soothes my little one back to sleep with lullabies (music without words), nature sounds (waves, heartbeat, etc.), and my own recorded message. I sang a funny little song I made up. I think the sounds and music only play for about 5 minutes or so but it's just long enough to distract him from his fussing and help him drift back to sleep. The sound module is held in place with a Velcro strap for safety but can be removed for changing batteries or washing. THIS AMAZING SOOTHER IS MACHINE WASHABLE!!!!! I highly recommend.

So, I was skeptical with this product like most soothers. Trying to calm a baby isn't easy. But this cute unicorn soother has now changed my mind! My favorite part is it allows for me to record a voice to help calm the crying babe. Along with other cool soother sounds, etc. I highly recommend!

I got this sloth soother for my daughter recently. She absolutely adores it! She's no longer an infant but still loves to listen to the different sounds to drift off to sleep. It has a great function so you can record a message that will play if your child wakes up crying. She just thinks it is fun for us to record messages for her. It's a really cute and soft toy.

Love the idea of this sloth. It didn't respond to crying at first but then the second night we used it it started working. Can be used in place of a sound machine which is convenient and cheaper. I am thinking about putting a piece of black tape over the flashing blue light because it's super annoying at night, and is most likely distracting to a baby who wakes in the night making it harder for them to fall back asleep.

Love the idea. Wish it had worked for us but it never responded to my baby.

I was looking for a soft, white noise machine. I like this but the only downside is that there's no way to adjust the volume
