There is no wooden crate. Just a cardboard box that it comes in. Disappointed. I don't like deceitful advertising.

Our daughter and son-in-law sent out an early Christmas wish list for our 2 1/2 year old granddaughter. We can't wait to see her open these up Christmas morning. We all love how Melissa & Doug toys have purpose behind the play.

We use this with the grocery/lemonade stand. We bought 3 of this product to fill up the bins. Life-like and well made! Not needed with this purchase, but I have to give a shout out to Melissa and Doug customer service! We bought the grocery stand from another company and only received 8 out of 9 bins. When I called the company to ask for another bin, they could only send us a whole new stand and have us send back the other one. So instead of going through that hassle, I called Melissa and Doug and they were able to just send us a bin. We read off a few numbers from the stand and there was no hassle. I will always buy directly from Melissa and Doug from now on!

I purchased this set and the veggie set for my infant daughter a few years ago. She has played with them in many ways: feeding her babies and animals, setting up tea parties, pretend shopping and cooking, bobbing up and down in the bathtub, and even the impromptu golfball and baseball. They have held up beautifully and still look as good as the day they arrived.As my daughter still loves her fruits and veggies, I won't be able to steal hers anytime soon! So, I will be purchasing extra sets of fruit to use as still life for my High School Drawing classes. They look better than all of the sets I see in the art supply catalogs and I know they will hold up to many years of abuse!

I opened the package and was shocked to smell the "new shower curtain smell" which indicates PVC or vinyl. I read the package carefully for an indication of the type of plastic used and only saw "molded plastic." I trust Melissa and Doug and thought they would be non-toxic. Unfortunately, the strong plastic smell tells me they must be vinyl. It is a shame because they are great and my kids love them. So, I must find something else.

These are the most beautiful and life-like pieces of fruit on the market. The are wonderful! I would recommend them time and time again!

I look to Melissa and Doug products to bring quality wooden toys. We ordered this fruit online under the false assumption that it would be made of wood. Nowhere in the product description does it state that this product is plastic. We immediately donated this item as we have no desire to fill our home with plastic toys. We are disappointed to see the direction the company is taking by straying away from wooden toys and increasingly adding more plastic products every year. We still love the wooden toys but would appreciate if M&D would begin noting in their descriptions the materials the products are made of so that online buyers are not confused by what they are purchasing.

Love this! So realistic. My 2 year old really loves to play with these. We bought a cheap plastic set from [...], and some of the fruit was truly unrecognizable. Not the case with these. The size is very true to life too. Love, love, love this product and the veggies too!
