BEST Seat
July 2, 2012
This is a GREAT carseat! We have 2, one for each vehicle, and couldn't be happier. Our daughter seems comfortable every time we put her in it. The safety quality and features don't compare to others out there. This is a must have seat!!! Please note, this is a large seat and may not work well in smaller vehicles. We have a crew cab truck and Tahoe and it takes up quite a bit of space.
Pros
  • - Everything!
Cons
  • - n/a

Love it!

This is seriously the most awesome car seat ever! There is nothing that i can find wrong with it yet and i have had it for about 3 months. My 11 month old loves it! It is heavy. But i think that is a positive thing. I don't want a car seat that ways nothing. Because it wouldn't stay in place. Love everything about it. It was well worth the money.

We picked up this car seat because it has been rated as one of the safest on the market. Unfortunately, it wasn't the easiest to install. When installed (rear facing), the car seat is at a poor angle and my son's head would flop forward when he fell asleep. The instruction state you can use a pool noodle or towel to change the angle. I'm not impressed with this piece of advice. I buy Britax because it's top of the line and safe. A pool noodle is not safety equipment. If the company knows there is a problem with the angle of the seat, change the design to incorporate an additional, more comfortable angle. That being said, the car seat is easy to use (once it's installed with a pool noodle) and seems comfortable. The "CS" in the title refers to the safety feature in which the seat clicks when you've pulled the straps tight enough...eh...it seems to click even when the straps are loose. Overall, the seat is good, but don't waste your money on the upgrade to CS. We actually got the Britax Marathon for our second car, and that seems to be even more comfortable for our big guy and it's also easy to use.
Pros
  • Easy to use
  • Seems comfortable
Cons
  • Not easy to install
  • Needs a pool noodle to get a good angle.

Great Car Seat But A Little Bulky
April 20, 2012
I bought this car seat for my 14 month old daughter. It is very high quality and has great cushioning and head support. It seems like a very safe car seat. The only down side is that it is a little bulky and can be hard to get my daughter in and out. This may not be best if you have a petite child like my daughter as the seat seems to swallow her up however as she grows I think this will get better and better.

Great step up from an infant car seat, Britax Bloulevard 70 CS Review
April 15, 2012
First of all, very well constructed car seat. I did a lot of research prior to purchasing the Britax Boulevard 70 CS car seat. It gets high marks for all of the safety features, comfort, and style. However, I will say it is not the easiest seat to install and it is not a great choice if being used as a rear facing seat.I would recommend throwing away the written installation instructions that come with the seat. They are almost useless. Just watch the YouTube installation video from Britax. The written instructions are a bit vague and can be confusing. In actuality its not that hard to install, just a bit time consuming and it can be difficult to loosen and tighten some of the straps while trying to get the car seat level with the vehicle's seat. In addition, I don't think this is a very good seat to be used as rear facing. I attempted to install the seat rear facing for my 12 month old. However, his feet were crammed up on the my vehicle's seat and the car seat itself did not feel as stable in the rear facing direction. I just switched the seat to face forward. While in the front facing direction it is EXTREMELY stable and while not budge. I believe the new recommendation is for children up to two years old to be in a rear facing seat. However, this is not very practical if you have a tall child. I don't have any worries using this as a front facing seat for my 12 month old child and he seems to enjoy its comfort. Finally, this seat fits great into both of my vehicles. There is plenty of leg room for the driver or front passenger (depending on where you install) when the car seat is installed in either my Land Rover Discovery or Volkswagen Sportwagen. However, it would still be a tight squeeze, in either vehicle, if attempting to fit two adult or teenage rear passengers with the car seat installed. Overall I am very happy with the Britax Boulevard. The safety and security of this seat outweigh any of the negatives of installing the seat. I would certainly recommend this seat for anyone looking to replace an infant seat with a very well built FRONT facing car seat.
Pros
  • Safety rating, stable, secure, comfort, style, and peace of mind.
Cons
  • Install instructions, strap loosening button, and the fact that it is not a good rear facing seat.

Only the best...
April 12, 2012
We have only used this car seat a hand full of times so far since our 1 year old doesn't weigh 20lbs yet and is still in his carrier. The few times we have was in grandma's car, who was very pleased to know how to work it. Simple installation and the best qualities are the velcro strips to keep the straps out of the way when putting the kiddo in and the audible tightness indicator. Made it easy enough for grandma to use:)
Pros
  • Safety features!! Audible indicator, and stay put straps.

We really like this carseat. The rubber pieces on the straps help them from getting all tangled up. I really like the Click Safe feature that let's me know when it is tight enough to keep my boy safe! I highly recommend this car seat.

This seat doesn't compromise on safety.

This is a good looking seat manufactured for your child's safety. We have had the Britax Boulevard 70 CS for a few months now and just today we were rear ended at a slow speed. Although my wife and I were jolted, it appeared that our child barely noticed. Because safety is the primary goal of this seat, the manufacturer offers several ways to attach this seat to your vehicle, therefore, causing initial confusion on installation. However, once you figure out the first installation, it is a piece of cake thereafter. I recommend this seat to anyone.
Pros
  • Quality built with child's safety in mind.
  • Good looking and stylish.
  • Several anchoring methods to your vehicle.
  • Safety harness seems comfortable for child.
  • Cushioned head and hip areas.
Cons
  • Initial installation somewhat challenging.
  • Rear-facing position leaves little room to squeeze child between door and seat.
  • Not easy to move between vehicles.

More than worth it! (long)
March 25, 2012
I researched car seats for a couple weeks and even gave in paying to see what consumer reports had to say about it b/c shopping for a car seat is not the easiest thing to do. This car seat is definently one of the most expensive and I wanted to make sure that it was worth it especially because I didn't have the time to go out to different stores who had all the car seats I was looking at to be able to compare in person. My main priorities for the carseat was that it was safe and comfortable. It did really bother me that I couldn't feel if the carseats were comfortable or not. I did go to target and looked at a greco my ride which I have always loved the look and has always been a top competitor for me- it scored extremly close to the britax if not just as much on cr (I think it was a few points below). The Greco My Ride looked just as nice in person, but when i felt it, it was all over. I couldn't help but think that there is no way that is comfortable. I felt all the seats there and there was only one that felt comfy but I had never heard of it, it wasnt convertable (my son is almost 20 lbs and would like next step to be convertible w/ a good weight capacity for rear facing), and it was a cow print (cute for a girl in my opinion...not for a boy lol). I was worried I would not be able to find what I was looking for. CR recommended the greco my ride and another carseat over this one b/c of price. taking everything into consideration (all the reviews i read, consumer reports, the seats I had seen in person, and price) I decided to purchase this seat, the britax boulevard 70 cs, on albee baby b/cit was the the cheapest by far. I know there is no such thing as perfect but for me this is it. It is just as comfortable as I wanted it to be for my little guy, plenty of padding. And it has one of the highest saftey ratings. It is big and my passanger seat needs to be pretty far up, but its just me and him so its not an issue. Also I only have one car and I am not looking for a carrier so I leave the seat in my car which is most convenient for me. I have read from some ppl that it is hard to get in and out of vehicles. This seat doesnt seem any more difficult than a car base for an infant car seat to take out. I was considering the next one up with the things on the side for extra head safety but I was concerned that it might be to big. being that i havent tried that one I still don't know but this one is pretty big and i can't imagine getting something bigger-I am happy with this one and being that it is as big as it is does not bother me at all, I just don't know how much bigger the other one is. The cs feature is really nice once you figure out how to use it properly and the straps are super easy to adjust and it has the anchor system that i havent really seen on any other car seat (maybe one but I can't remeber which one it was) and thats something I honestly think should be standard. This is an awesome carseat I am glad I bought it even though it was more expensive. My son spends alot of time in a car seat b/c his grandma lives 45 min away which he goes back and forth every weekday and comfort (as well as safety) was really important and i don't think I would have been satisfied with anything else. I would like it if there was other options for design and color of fabric on it and the velcrow on the sides to hold the straps is a great idea but not put tin the right place for it to work properly, but those are minor things that really don't even matter. Also I was worried that the head cushions for head saftey would be really annoying for my son and closterphobic like for him, but he climbs in on his own, he likes it. We have been a proud owner of the Britax carseat for about 4 months.
Pros
  • safe
  • comfortable
  • easy to use
Cons
  • There is nothing about this seat that I dislike

Top of the line!
March 21, 2012
I researched for a long time in regard to a seat for our son. We used the Peg Perego Viaggio infant seat for him and using another Perego for our now 4 month old. I wanted to buy the safest seat...and really compared this CS model to the new Perego Convertible seat. Britax won me over with their safe cell technology the easy installation and the beautiful colors they offer. It made the almost $400 Perego seat not look so great with all the extra features and safety Britax offers. I love the videos and how Britax notes that they don't just stop at the US regulations on carseat safety but they begin where regulations stop! When I received the seat only 4 days after ordering (Thanks Albeebaby) I was amazed taking it out of the box at the top of the line quality I received! I feel so confidant putting my son in this seat knowing he is very safe. I plan on getting another for my 4 month old once she grows out of the viaggio. I should of bought a Britax infant seat to! Even bought the parkway for our 6 year old! I think I have become a loyal customer thanks for all the safety and wonderfully made seats Britax!
Pros
  • Very sturdy and safe!

Search a While and Glad I did

I purchased this about two weeks ago and have already notice my 11 month old loves it. He is still rear facing and usually falls fast alseep. I wouldn't reccomend this for a child who can't hold their neck up as the seat is full reclined and he is pretty much sitting up. I do miss the ease of the infant carrier when he is sleeping. I research car seats for three weeks and thid was my final pick. Not my first color choice, but the price was unbeatable. I am so happy with the purchase and look forward to the future with my new Britax. The seat arrived new in two days and allbee baby was excellent to talk with to confirm everything. It did overwhelm me for about ten minutes b/c the user guide is huge and I wanted to make sure I knew how to use everything
Pros
  • Secure
  • Safety ratings
  • Soft
  • Easy in and out
Cons
  • Bulky
  • Manual a bit confusing
