As grandparents, we watch our new grandchild two days per week for childcare. I don't need a fancy baby monitor with all the bells and whistles for full time use. I need a small portable unit to keep near me and a simple base for in the crib room. It's all plastic and rubber with markings to push on and off and for volume-no actual "buttons" to click on and off. It gets 4 stars rather than 5, for its basic simplicity and not-fantastic sound quality. However, it does the job we need it to for intermittent use two days a week. I wouldn't want this to be my full time monitor if I were a parent. But, it's great to have at a grandparent's house, a second location, or travel.

As a follower of Dr. Weissbluth and his sons current pediatric practice, I am pleased to have an alternative to the video and other monitors which do not necessarily promote parent and infant sleep health. I’m looking forward to trying the silent feature and was only slightly disappointed in the steep price for a radio monitor.
