I choose this car seat because of the weight, Baby trend has some of the lightest car seats on the market for a reasonable price, it weights just under 10lbs. For me that makes a difference, I have to carry this w/ baby up 3 flights of stairs, so weight was a big factor. Most of the other ones out there weigh 13+ lbs!! Anyway, this product has good safety ratings as well, the design is simple and the jogging stroller that goes with it is pretty durable, it may not be all name brand, but the most important thing is safety, function, and price. I must admit the buckle can be a hassle, but I can deal with that or get a replacement if I can't take it anymore.
