This car seat fits our needs perfectly. I wanted an affordable lightweight 22 max car seat with good safety ratings, nice padding and user friendly features. The Graco models I played with in stores felt cheap, but reviews on the Platinum mention it being better quality than other Snugrides. I bought the Platinum sight unseen and I'm pleasantly surprised by the quality, but keep in mind it's not a luxury seat. When it comes to adjustability (compared to $200+ seats) this is like having manual car locks/windows vs. automatic. Hooking it up and adjusting the angle isn't as easy as more expensive seats, but once you set it up you don't have to worry about it again. However, IMO the padding and "look" is on par with more expensive seats. The seat clicks into the base effortlessly and is even easier to take out of the base. The boot tucks nicely around baby's feet and serves its purpose. The handle lowers and raises easily and the canopy isn't impeded by the handle. I do not carry my baby in the car seat for long periods, so I can't review that aspect... the only time he's in the seat outside the car is if I need to click him into the stroller to run a quick errand. This is a very nice seat and will suit us well until it's time to upgrade to a high quality convertible. P.S. I turned the boot inside out so it's black instead of Platinum and I actually prefer the look. Also, I despise the huge warning label next to the baby's head.

When my first child was born I borrowed this carseat from a friend. I made up my mind that for the next baby I'm buying one. That's exactly what I did and it was the best thing I did.?

Let me begin by saying that as far as being a comfortable and safe place for your baby, this is a wonderful car seat! It has padding underneath and a nice soft fabric to keep your baby comfortable. If your baby cries when put in this car seat it is most likely because they either want to be held or don't want to be restrained by straps. I can't possibly see this seat as ever being uncomfortable. It holds your baby in a nice position and snugly, even for a newborn. The straps are easy to adjust with one pull of the tether located near the baby's feet. The only negative things I have to say about it are relatively minute to me, but may matter to some. The first of these being that the carrying handle often interferes with the canopy when changing it into its lowest position for riding in the car. It is a small nuisance that the canopy sometimes gets pulled down with the carrying handle and you have to shove it back through if you still want it to shield your baby from the sun. Again, a small issue. The other issue that I have with this car seat would be the cold weather cover/boot that comes with it. While it hooks on nicely at the sides, the bottom of it doesn't seem to either have the elastic or the shape to hold it in place. I didn't mind this so much because I typically just cover the lower part of the baby with a snug blanket anyway. I should also mention that I am no stranger to car seats. This is my third child and first time using this brand of car seat. Also, I have used this car seat through both winter and extreme summer weather, and my 8 month old baby girl has been fine through all of it. Hope this helps!

We have a Peg Perego Pliko in Moka and bought this carseat to go with it. Without ever seeing it, we decided to order it. It is a perfect match and came just after 3 days of ordering. We are very happy with our purchase!

This is a very comfy car seat, but I hate the canopy because it has a "peek-a-boo" window on the top of it. When I take my newborn out for a walk, the sun shines through and hits him straight on the head. It makes no sense to me. I am in the process of finding out if Graco has had other complaints about this. Otherwise, I'll have to put tape over it or something to keep the sun out.
