Engineered for Safety
Nuna's design philosophy puts safety first, using smart, practical features that make a real difference.
- Side-Impact Protection: The AACE features energy-absorbing EPP foam and adjustable SIP (Side Impact Protection) pods. These pods attach to the side of the seat facing the vehicle door, creating an additional crumple zone that absorbs impact forces before they reach your child.
- Secure LATCH Installation: The AACE's lower anchor connectors (LATCH system) are a key feature. They secure the booster seat directly to the vehicle's frame, which does two things: It keeps the seat stable and prevents it from becoming a projectile in a crash when your child is not in it. It allows for the multi-position recline, providing stability even when the seat is angled back for sleeping.
- Healthy Materials: From the fabric to the foam, every element in the Nuna AACE is sourced to be flame resistant without any added fire-retardant chemicals. It is also GREENGUARD Gold Certified, meaning it's tested for over 10,000 chemicals and proven to have low VOC emissions, contributing to healthier air inside your car.
Nuna AACE: Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What is the difference between the Nuna AACE and the AACE LX?
A: The AACE LX is a newer, more premium version. The primary differences are that the LX has a magnetic buckle holder, additional ventilation, and comes with two cup holders instead of one. The core safety and 3D growth™ features are very similar.
Q: Can you recline the Nuna AACE?
A: Yes, the AACE has 8 recline positions when used as a high back booster and secured with the vehicle's lower LATCH anchors. This is a standout feature not found on many boosters.
Q: How do you clean the Nuna AACE?
A: The micro-knit fabric seat cover is easily removable and machine washable on a delicate cycle (use cold water and lay flat to dry). The plastic components and cup holder can be hand-washed.
Q: When should my child switch from high back to no back booster mode?
A: A child should use the high back booster for as long as possible, as it provides crucial side impact and head protection. You should only switch to the backless booster when your child has outgrown the height or weight limits of the high back mode (110 lbs or 57 in), and their ears are above the top of the headrest at its highest setting.
Q: How long is the Nuna AACE good for before it expires?
A: The Nuna AACE has a lifespan of 10 years from the date of manufacture. You can find the manufacture date on a sticker located on the bottom of the seat.
