Skip Hop Playview Retractable Baby Gate - Grey Mesh

Took over an hour to install and doesn't work. Gate can be easily "opened" by pressing on bottom and isn't safe at all.

I purchased item 2weeks ago great for keeping dogs and toddlers safe

I bought this a few months ago to try it out and loved it so I bought two more for upstairs. This gate is easy to install, looks great in the house and easy to open and close. I love that it is mesh so my baby can't get her arms through it

We've had this gate for a while and just now installed it as our baby is crawling. Disappointed to see that the top of the mesh is very loose, while the bottom is nice and tight. The top can easily be slipped out of the endcap due to how loose it is. It is installed correctly, level, even, etc. We are going to try it but if our baby is one that messes with gates, this will not be usable.

The gate is easy to use and easy to install. The color is great and neutral enough to go with most décor.

Very hard to open and close, especially if you're holding a baby.

Horrible design! When pushed on the bottom the gate easily pops out. My husband installed it at the top of our stairs and thankfully he tested it before our kids got near it. This gate needs to be recalled!

We loved this gate and had been using it for a few months, but my 13 month old pushed on it and fell this week. We noticed there was a design flaw that if you push at the bottom of the gate it easily opens thus making the gate useless. I wanted to be sure to warn parents so no other child falls!

I bought this a couple of months ago and I am so very glad that I did. I have a small child and a dog that I try to keep separate most of the time. My dog is just a little too excited when he sees my toddler. I have been looking for a gate that didn't look like a gate - if that makes sense. That's when I found this gate. Not only is it visually attractive, it is functional. I am very pleased with this purchase and would definitely recommend.

Easy to install & doesn't take long to install. Like how well the quality of the mesh gate is. When closing you have to push in small side button & top round button at same time. Then you can open the gate by pulling handle. The only down fall I see is that you have to be quick! Holding a child to click down one side then to quickly go to the other side to open it up. It gets a bit confusing at times even with older children trying to get pass gate. To secure the gate you will need to screw to door frame, it comes with templates to help install straight to door frame.

Good gate for a small child or small dogs. It works for its intended usage. Though it can be a bit flimsy and has a finite length, it does serve its purpose well. This is a good buy and if need be in the future I would buy again.

PROS: It definitely feels sturdy, the directions were easy to follow for baseboard or no baseboard (there is also a helpful installation video in the add) and it looks nice.
CONS: If you are getting this gate for a baby gate, it cannot be operated with one hand while holding a baby. You have to push two buttons on one side while simultaneously unlatching the gate to retract it on the other side and vise versa for closing and latching it. I did not consider this fact until I was a almost done installing the two I ordered or else I might have considered other options. I'm going to give it a try anyways since I installed them and I'll report back with my final verdict. Maybe the benefits will outweigh the cost

I got this to keep the little one out of the bedrooms and mainly the bathrooms,it wasn't to bad to install, I like how it has slide on adapters for if you have a base board on the bottom of the walls, and the biggest plus is that it has a template sheets so you can tack it to the wall to predrill where you need it to go, it has a 2 button release so it can't accidentally open and a 52" span so it works for almost any hallway, the other reason I got this is to spot the dog from going in the bedrooms which it works great for that too,

To begin with I must say that this Skiphop product saved my little one's life because I have it on the door that leads to the kitchen and a few days ago my stove caught fire without realizing it and thanks to this door my baby did not pass to the kitchen where she could have been hurt, grateful to have had this door at that time thank god nothing bad happened. It is super easy to install, it also has several security screws that makes this grip stronger, it is comfortable to use, you just press a button and it opens easily but strong enough so that my baby does not open it, the mesh is very resistant of excellent quality, you can also see through it what is very comfortable to monitor. I recommend it 100

Skiphop's Playview Retractable Mesh Gate is exactly what my home was missing to complete baby-proofing. The gate was very easy to install and came with a variety of options to suit my needs. The gate is sturdy and doesn't take up much room. It's easy to open and close.

I put the skiphop retractable mesh gate on the doorway to my room and I loved it. I like that you can see through the mesh and I like the retractable way it opens and closes. So I can be holding the baby and it's so easy to open and close. And it keeps my dog out of my room at night.

I tried this for the kitchen from the living room for my dogs. I wanted to keep them out of the kitchen. You need tools to install but once it's installed you're set until you decide to move it. It's super convenient as the mesh retracts when not in use and can't even tell it's there. We love the gate color because It matches with the colors in home. It's easy to open with one hand but takes a while to get used to closing it with one hand. Although it's advertised for little ones I use it for my dogs. My dogs have leaned on it and still looks pretty good.

This is a really high quality gate. As far as baby gates go, it's more attractive than most, minimally invasive, and seems to work well. But beware that to make it secure, they recommend screwing large wood anchors into your walls/doorframes. This is fine of course if you don't mind patching up the holes when you're past the baby stage, but it's worth considering if you want to install a gate in a prominent space.

I love this gate! So easy to set up and gives me peace of mind that I can see through it. I love that it's retractable and I can easily do that with one hand. It's a nice grey color, which matches my homes decor, that's a nice added bonus, compared to other standard colors. All in all, a great purchase and very functional.

I have been using this for about 2 weeks now and I absolutely love it. It was really easy to set up. I love that the gate is mesh and I don't have to worry about my baby hitting their head on it. It is really easy to retract the gate as well. I can do it while holding my child.

I really like this baby gate, we live in an apartment so we can't have a screen door but of course love having our door open some days for the fresh air, placing this in the front door is great! Keeps baby in and safe, she can look outside herself since it's mesh and I love how easy it is to open and close with the kids or myself opening it. Great gate!

Playview Retractable Mesh Gate by Skiphop is an excellent product For my children, we use every day because my little son always play, and for my is perfect for restrict access to some areas in my house, all pieces are secure, good quality and durability.

This gate definitely comes in hand if you have a little army at your home. I have both a young one and a little dog that love to explore. While we have child proofed our home in general, it doesn't stop my dog from going into places that he shouldn't (he has a sensitive stomach so we do our best to not have him explore and eat things). I love that this gate accomplishes two tasks in my home.

This mesh gate is perfect for a busy baby and toddler . It expands to the kids out but also Easily rolls up and away . Installation was simple , clear instructions . Baby stands and holds on it and it's very sturdy no worries about it toppling over . It's been great to with my little dogs keeping them
all out of the kitchen. This mesh gates is simple and stylish fits into any decor and the best is how sturdy it is the way it retracts back when not needed is so convenient .

I love and dislike the Playview Retractable Mesh Gate. I LOVE the color! It's an off white/light gray color. It will go with any decor and fit with any decor style. I LOVE that it's mesh so if my child bumps into it he won't get hurt like the hard plastic or wood ones. I LOVE that it fits in not so straight lined places. I LOVE that it is very secure and I don't have to worry about my baby escaping and getting hurt. So now for the dislikes! I dislike that I had to put 10 holes in my walls to install this gate. Due to that I can't place it in more then one place. I can't move it from the bottom of the stairs to in the door way due to having to uninstall then reinstall like other baby gates. I dislike that you can open the gate one handed but you CAN NOT close the gate one handed or I couldn't. I dislike that the mesh can come gappy and little hands/legs or even a smart baby could get under those gaps and escape. I always double check that the gate is tightened right and has no gaps in the mesh. I will continue to use the Playview Retractable Mesh Gate because if you can over look the few dislikes it's a pretty great gate.

We love our skip hop retractable gate. It's low profile and so easy to use. I've always had trouble with the other bulky gates that look hideous and are hard to open and close. The skip hop retractable gate is so easy to open with just one hand and open or close it actually looks good. So if making your space look beautiful is something important for you than this is what you want. I also love that it can be used and secured perfectly even if you have baseboards. It's a great product.

My husband and I are very pleased with this gate. He found the installation to be quite easy, and the directions very clear. The height is perfect for keeping our children safe. The mesh is soft, should your little one bump into it, you can rest assured he/she will be okay. I like that you can see through the mesh,and the gate is quite décor friendly. We especially like that it is retractable, which makes it very, very convenient and easy to use, even with
one hand. I always feel secure with products from Skip Hop, because they are excellent quality, safe, and a good value. They are also made to last!

We have challenging stairs with bottom steps to be out away from the wall and traditional metal gate resulted into such a trip hazard with bottom connecting bar being in the way.
This proved to be great solution. Keeps my little one from climbing up but can easily be open and not in a way when baby isn't around. Happy momma

I've been using this retractable baby gate and it's amazing so much better then my other baby gates I have and it's way to set up and it's out the way when needed to be and safe I love it and will be getting one for my sister

I love it, this is in itself the best you can find when you have toddlers at home, goodbye to old horrible wooden or plastic fences, this is perfect super modern, easy to install, and beautiful. It has a safe to run and remove, its height is very good and its dimensions adapt to various types of doors. Incredible quality, the baby has been beaten and is still very firm. We purchased this gate to keep the kids from going down the hall. It was extremely easy to set up and very easy to use. We like when the gate is not being used it retracts into it self unlike different gates.

I loved the idea of a retractable gate so I purchased this and it does live up to the hype! The instructions were clear and set up was a breeze. The locking mechanism is easy to use and clicks into place. It's a sturdy, high quality product and I just purchased 2 more to replace my other eye-sore gates.

I was really excited to get this gate, I liked that it retracted all the way when not in use. The day I installed it and used it for the first time my 8 month old leaned against it and it opened resulting in her falling. I shut it again and lightly pushed on it and it opened again. Huge design flaw making the gate useless.

I purchased and installed this a week ago. It is working well to keep my one year old walker OUT of the kitchen! I didn't want to constantly move a pressure gate, or install a permanent metal gate, so this retractable gate is ideal. Well made, consistent with SkipHop's high quality. Instructions were clear and included helpful templates. I saved them all after my install in case we decide to move it elsewhere (or if we move). You must have a drill and various sizes of drill bits to complete this install. I'm very happy with the purchase and its function and form and would recommend this product.
