I had been wanting to get the Skip Hop Elephant toy, but when I found the Elephant book, I decided to get it instead. And it is so cute! It has six different pages to play with. And my grandson loves turning the pages of books. It does work as a puppet too. And I have used it as such. However, my hands are small, so it's a little difficult to keep it on my hand. But I'd say all the Dads out there could work it as a puppet just fine. The leaf teether is a favorite. and there is a mirror inside and another teether on the last page. I've left this in the crib for nap times so my grandson has something to entertain himself with when waking. I've found him quietly and happily chewing on the leaf. The book is about 7.5" long when closed, and about 14.5" when opened from the trunk to the end of the teether. About 9.5" from ear to ear. So not too small a book.
