Safety 1st onBoard 35 LT Infant Car Seat - Monument

The Car Seat base strap will not tighten enough to safely install this car seat. A CPST recommended that we purchase a new car seat which we did.

I've been using this car seat for 10 months. Pros: it's machine washable, it's cheap.
Cons: it's hard to get the carseat off of the base when taking it in and out, the straps always leave red marks on baby's neck, I can't seem to get it to fit snuggly in my car, the adjustable peice has bent so much that I can no longer use it.
I'm excited for when baby grows out of it so we can replace it with something much better.

Anyone have any idea where I can buy the body pillow on its own? Took it out when our oldest got bigger but cannot find it to reinsert for our newest to come at the end of November. Please send links/ information on where to buy this single pad for this specific car seat. Thanks!!

This car seat is junk!!! I only had mine for 4 months and the straps on the back ripped. That is supposed to be seatbelt material.

Great item at a great price. Love that it's easy to clean when messes happen.

I love this car seat, super easy! Loved that it came with a base so we could just put the car seat in and go. Wasn't hard to use or install in the car.

I recently had twins and this seat has been so secure feeling & not complicated like most other seats. I used it for my oldest in 2019 also. Love it!

Everyday use

This car seat is very easy to use it fits nicely in the back of my small SUV. I have used it sense my daughter was born at 5lbs, it has always fit her perfectly. Its easy to clean and put back together.

Strap sewn onto the tightening strap to tighten the base into the car makes it so I cannot tighten it enough or properly. Unsafe and so dumb

WHEREEEE can I find the infant insert?!

My wife, 6 week-old baby, 3 year-old dog, and I were in a rollover accident. My wife sustained severe injuries as well as my dog. By the grace of God and Safety 1st's product my daughter was unscathed with only dirt on her. Went to Children's Hospital for Trauma and went through a multitude of tests - clean bill of health. Thank you for a life saving product.

This car seat has been the best car seat I have ever used. My babies are on the smaller side when born so this seat has made it possible to bring them home. I do have to buy another one as my youngest daughter is much to small to transition into a different kind of seat.

The middle latch belt jams into my newborns legs when i strap him in!! The middle latch is way to short. DO NOT BUY THIS ITEM! do not waste you time on this car seat !

My son is now 13 months, we've used this seat since he came home from the hospital ans it don't seam like he'll outgrow it anytime soon, we did have an issue where the canopy got a rip in it, I called safety first and they sent me a new one free of charge, the only thing I would change about it is I would change how you hook on the canopy, my son likes to pull on the bar and make it come off, but other than that it's been amazing and their service has been amazing.

I was so excited when I got this seat with the travel system. The reviews were good on average. Baby is 9 months old now & we've been using the seat since he the hospital. It was fine up until baby became more aware. My main issues are : - the carseat canopy, which separates in the middle where the fabric covers and is so hard to piece back together. It's not adjustable there so not really sure why it was designed that way. -the base latch seatbelt doesn't get tight enough even pulled to the last part of the strap when installed. -the head padding has a bulky mid piece that sits under baby's back that must be uncomfortable because baby takes it out during car ride which leaves the straps looser than they were before we left our location. This head insert doesn't function well without the infant insert. - when pressing the strap release or pulling the belt to tighten the harness, it does so unevenly, so I have to manually go to each strap on the baby and pull and manuever to distribute the tension. Once while doing this, the whole strap over baby's right shoulder came through the seat and unattached from the lockclip on the backside of the carseat. Overall the seat is easy to handle and easy to clean but I wouldn't purchase again.

Where can I buy the newborn head cushion ??? I really need a new one !!! I want this one exactly not the cheap ones that are sold at every store

Where can you get a replacement newborn insert? We moved and I've misplaced it and I'm due anytime within the next month😬

I have a 2019 Nissan Rogue. The base will not fasten securely. With the anchors or the seat belt, the base just will not tighten up. I like to consider myself a man that is pretty handy, and it still wasn't getting tight.
So I even googled a how to video, just to make sure I was doing this right. Which I was,
so I Called customer s and did a video chat with a tech and still won't tighten. Said that they will see what their next course of action will be.

I love this car seat! It's light weight easy to install and comfortable for my son. The stroller too!

We just bought this and we are returning it. It DOES NOT FIT SAFELY IN THE VEHICLE. it doesnt latch fully into the base and moves all over the place! DO NOT BUY THIS!!

DO NOT BUY!! Horrible horrible car seat. Manual asks you to put a rolled up towel underneath to keep the seat level, how insane is that? Does not attach securely to the car at all, no matter what we did it would slip and tip. Will not even be donating ours now that we've got a new one.

Something I forgot to mention in my prior review about this car seat. I forgot to mention after all the struggles we had, I wasn't about to give up just yet. These things are rigorously tested, right? Well, I did take it to the local Fire Department on my way to return it (which I could not do... thanks Covid). They could not even get a satisfactory fit. They recommended buying a new one. Shame on you Safety 1st!

I bought the entire travel system for less than the price of a competitor's carseat. It is very well cushioned for baby and easy to carry because it is lightweight. The only thing I really dislike is the fact that the base does not attach securely in my back seat (I honestly feel safer just using a seat belt). The canopy is a little hard to move and very annoying when it comes apart in the middle (I finally taped the plastic pieces together the last time it came apart and haven't had any trouble since). All in all it is a great carseat for the price you pay and I would definitely buy another if I have another baby.

Only complaint is the crotch buckle. No matter what slot it goes in it is TOO SHORT. I have the whole travel system for this and I might have to buy a new car seat because this one hurts him and leaves red Mark's. Not happy that this hurts my baby and I don't understand why the buckle is so short!

This is the worst car seat. I have it rear facing and if the sun comes from the back windshield it does nothing to help shade my kid. The problem is that when I pull the shade off the Velcro position, it doesn't hold at the angle I need it to cover the sun from the baby's face. I mean as soon as I pull it off Velcro, the top part of the sun shade collapses either on top of the baby's head or just flops down and renders it useless. It's literally only good in the Velcro on upright position, but then good luck if there's any sun coming directly in front of where baby's facing. I nearly crashed because the sun was hitting the baby and she was screaming,,, and I kept reaching to adjust and sometimes hold the sun shade with my hand ....causing me to beer into other lanes on highway.

THE MOST HORRIBLE CARSEAT I EVER USED, EACH TIME I MAKE A TURN THE CAR SEAT MOVE FROM FROM AROUND DESPITE THE FACT THAT I INSTALLED IT PROPERLY, IT KEEPS MOVING AROUND AND ALMOST INJURED MY BABY.

We received this as a baby shower gift, and I'm scared to put my baby in the seat!!!!!! We threw the box away and don't have the receipt because it was a gift! We have to go spend money on a new seat!!!!! The base on the seat does not fit properly in the car! We even you tube to see if we were doing it properly! I don't know why there has not been a recall on this seat!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The most Unsafe car seat I ever purchased

I purchased this carseat for my newborn son and I refuse to use it because it DOES NOT FIT SNUG/TIGHT IN THE BASE! It is very loose when attatched to the base, tried everything to tighten it and nothing works! It should fit in the base tight without being able to move, but instead it is loose and wiggles and is not safe to use to transport an infant inside of a vehicle. Very unhappy with my purchase, waste of my money!

The car seat is loose no matter how tight you pull the seat belt. The base slides from left to right when taking turns. Would not waste my money on it.

This car seat is so easy to install. The base goes right in and clicks/tightens easily. I love how lightweight it is and the handle is slim which makes carrying it so much easier! It's also very padded and comfortable for my baby!

Though I was not pleased with my product Christy addresses my concerns and came up with a resolution so I am very happy! I tried to remove my original review but couldn't figure it out!

We bought brand new and lost the receipt & we couldn't return to get our money back because they thought we broke it, the handle the carry the car seat only locks on one side the other is wobbly and won't pop up to secure in place.. the canopy falls back and won't stay pulled toward to cover our daughter, and even the fire department couldn't install it in our car where the level was where it was supposed to be.

This car seat is the most unsafe car seat I have ever purchased. My husband and I are professional nurses and my brother in law is a fire fighter who even agreed about the poor quality of this car seat. The carrier itself is very nice and cushioned well for comfort of the baby, however the base DOES NOT secure into the car safely at all. We refused to put our child in it. My husband went and bought a whole new Graco car seat before we left the hospital, and was able to secure it safely. I won't even give or donate this car seat due to the inability for it to be securely strapped into a seat. I am beyond disappointed with our purchase and will be informing other parents of how unsafe the car seat base is.

We received the infant car seat/base/stroller as a gift. This was great as first time parents. It was easy to install and adjust as we brought our daughter home from the hospital. Easy to take in and out of the car and i love how it has the same "click" method for the stroller. She's going on 6 months now and it's still easy to use, as she grows it's very easy to adjust the buckle and straps.

We bought this seat the day before our third baby was born. We had intended to use our Graco seat but it didn't include an infant insert and we were expecting a smaller baby. I saw a review that said this seat would fit and included the inserts. So we picked one up. I installed it with the latch system in one of our captains chairs with no problem at all. It was easy to get a tight install and the acceptable recline without a pool noodle! Which is crazy because we have really sloped seats. The baby fit great from birth and has been riding in it since. The seat is great quality and I have no doubt that it'll be great for our little guy until he outgrows it!

The worst carseat I've ever dealt with. I have raised and been around many babies. Doesn't matter which way or what seat I install this seat but it just doesnt tighten. It is look and moves way to much which is not safe! I've been fighting with this carseat since the day i got it brand new! Too bad I cant get a refund. I bought a whole differenT carseat because when u turn the seat is so loose the base and baby all move to the side!
