Recaro Signo Convertible Car Seat 2008 Midnight Desert

We have had this now for about a year. My son was unhappy being in his infant seat so I researched between the britax and the recaro. I personally liked the styling better or this and wanted something that not everyone else had. The safety rating is very high. My husband loved it since recaro makes porsche racing seats. Most importantly, my son loves riding in his seat. He is never fussy when in it. It is a large seat, but as long as he is comfortable and happy...than so am I.

Car seat is well constructed for saftey purposes. High sides to secure child from side impact, great seat belt harness, fabric, ect. All the quality of a racing recaro seat!Only problem with the car seat is that it is HUGE and pretty Heavy! I mean we can't even see your child if it is rear facing. We own a Lexus GS430, which is a pretty large car and having this car seat in it in a rear facing position blocks the entire rear view (can't see our child nor can we see anything out of the rear window if the carseat is located in the center seat). This car seat should only be used in a SUV like a FULL SIZE SUBURBAN or HUMMER H2. If you have a regular sedan be careful. You should visit a store with this car seat in stock to see if it fits your vehicle (not many around carry recaro) because if you have to return the car seat, it is quite heavy (around 15lbs) and big. So shipping it back will be pretty expensive.

This car seat is HUGE and heavy. You should check local stores to see if this car seat will fit your vehicle. Well constructed and looks great. Quality is great just like recaro racing seats.

Bought the Recaro on sale, and I'm pleased by its 70lb limit and quality construction. Very cushy. Almost velvety fabric (machine washable, of course). Recaro isn't in the baby business so much as the mobile seat business (aircraft seating, race car seats, and the such). I get a real engineering/safety vibe from this company. Much more important to me than a cowhide pattern seat cover. My tall 2 year old weighs 35lbs. I don't want to rush him into a booster seat even if he will make the height and weight requirements well before the 4 year mark (the min. recommended booster age). So many convertibles only go up to 40lbs. The Britax, of course, goes somewhat higher (some models top out at 55), but they cost an arm and a leg. Recaro is on the few companies that seems to cater to the desire to keep larger toddlers in convertibles/5 point harnesses for as long as possible. Like it better than the Britax, and it's substantially cheaper on sale.

This is a great carseat! Easy to install and very supportive for their little bodies and heads! My son would always cry in his infant carrier, when this first arrived he sat in it on the floor for hours! He loves it! It doesn't weight as much as other reviews made it look, maybe two pounds more then the Britax.The only issue is when it is rear facing its alittle hard to see out of my back window, and I have a 4-runner. But other then that I give it *****!
