we have an unusual stairway and struggled to find a gate that would work. not only does this gate fit, but it meets and exceeds safety regulations so we know our little one is safe. we appreciate the detailed description of the gate, we were able to chose the one that would work, without a lot of exchanging.

I purchased this gate for the top of my stairs. Although I think it looks nice and works well standing alone as a deterrent, I'm not confident that it would hold if my kids decided to lean on it. I had to use the extensions to fit the stair opening and where the extension fits into the center gate part seems like it may give way if under prolonged pressure from leaning/kids pulling on the frame. The assembly instructions were no help as they just show pictures of the various steps. The "double locking" feature is simply a plastic piece at the bottom of the gate that you flip down on both sides to lock or on one side so that gate only swings one way- not confident that the plastic piece is strong enough to last long. This gate has a wider walk-through which is one nice feature.

This gate is at the bottom of our stairs between 2 newel posts. My husband installed it and it did take a while, but once up it looks great, is sturdy, and function very well. The latch is easy for adults, but my escape-artist toddler still hasn't figured it out. I'd highly recommend this gate. I wish it came in a shorter version to block off my kitchen so I could cook in peace. :)

This gate is beautiful and functional. When putting the gate together, my husband broke two parts and I contacted Munchkin and they were Great. Munchkin replaced the broken parts for free and I had the parts within 3 days. I love this gate and I love the company that makes this gate!
