I gave the Doorbell House to my 2 year old granddaughter tonight. We inserted the 2 AAA batteries. It rang 2 times and stopped so that was disappointing. It is a cute toy but the markings on the keys are very light so that is hard to match yo the door. It takes dexterity to open the door

This little house is such a hit! Melissa and Doug toys always are here... We have a lot of their toys and musical instruments. My grandson loves to ring our house bell because he associates it with the bells on this little house. Very sturdy and he has gotten hours of play out if it already. The little people are well made and their outfits are so cute... I highly recommend this for learning at play...

Such a cool toy. My son loves ringing the doorbells and he's learning how to use the keys to unlock the doors. When he first opened up the toy, he played with it for hours!

I bought this because my 3yr old is obsessed with keys brought it home had a sharp spot and couldn't open the battery door so I exchanged it, after about a week purple door is coming off and several other spots are going to disappointed for the price but my daughter loves the keys and people and the doorbells

My daughter got this house for Christmas, and it almost immediately became a favorite of all my kids (ages 5,3 &2). Within 10 days all 4 doorbells quit working, even after I tried brand new batteries. The only reason I'm giving this 2 stars and not 1 is because my daughter still loves the dolls and playing with the keys.

On another note, the customer service is questionable. I tried calling the company about this problem, but only got the answering machine. I tried to email, but they just told me to call. I don't have time to keep after them so I'm just leaving this review. At this point kids have picked off the sticker on the bottom with the bar code so they can't help now anyway. I'm pretty disappointed, I expected more from Melissa and Doug toys.

My 3-yr old granddaughter loved this house. Even after endless Christmas toys, she sat and played with this non-stop for over an hour on her 3rd birthday in early January. It has 4 keys with numbers matching the numbers on the doors, and 4 separate key designs requiring some serious dexterity. The 4 people figures were locked in and unlocked into the 4 compartments over and over. What a delight. Even before we inserted the batteries she loved locking and unlocking the doors. When we added the batteries she was delighted all over again to hear the four distinct doorbell sounds. Her mother asked which sound she liked best, and she said "all of them."

My son got this for Xmas he's 4. He loves it. However, All the play people are white. It wouldn't cost anything for the designers to have at least 2 POC. Seems very narrow minded.

I cannot give this five stars because the green door was not installed straight so it binds when you try and open it. I've tried to sand it down a little bit that does not help. Also I had to take a damp cloth and wipe the glue residue off all the surfaces. Quality control was lacking on the day this house was made.

Disappointed I can't gyve it to my granddaughter. Luckily I opened it to inspect and put batteries in. Doorbell on door one doesn't work. Two of the dolls had broken legs before I even took them out of plastic. Hoping to get a replacement because it really is adorable.

Got it for my 3 year old. As it us a $40 toy i was expecting quality. 1 week in to playing with it and i regret buying. Not only did the plasticky wallpaper on tge house peel off. My son figured out that every lock unlocks using 1 yes ONE key. Why buy this house with 4 different locks if they can be all unlocked with 1 key. It is a cheap. Useless disappointing melissa & doug toy. It has completely changed my mind about buying from this brand. Would not recommend.

I do like the idea of the house but the locks wre hard to turn the bottom can't unscrew so we have no ring to the door bells and door 3's lock seems worn and misshapped before even using it.

I bought this for my children and they love playing with it. The only thing is that we lost one doll (the one with the red shirt). How can we get another one?

We bought this as a Christmas gift from Santa and after them just opening it, the house we received only has 3 different locks. Key 1 has no use for us because door 1 and 2 have the same lock (key 2). A bit disappointed because my 4 year old can't use this to learn her numbers when door 1 needs key 2.

Cute concept, but the keys bent on the first day. Again - an equal about spent on shipping. I wouldn't mind getting that back to make me feel somewhat better.

This is something my son has wanted for ages. He got it as a Christmas gift from his Grandparents but the doorbell didn't work. Took it back to the shop but they didn't have any more so he had to choose something else. He's very disappointed.

Doorbell sounds are pretty creepy. Even with fresh batteries. They sound more like fx from a horror film. Maybe we got a dud one. It's pretty rough quality compared to the other Melissa and Doug stuff we have.

Bought this toy for my 3yo autistic son who loves keys and doorbells. He played with it for a week and we put it up. The next time he wanted to play with it, the doorbells wouldn't work. I have a screaming, disappointed toddler on my hands.

I bought this Wooden Doorbell House with the intention of gifting it to one of my grandchildren, but I couldn't decide who to give it to. I ended up keeping it at my place so the cousins to each other could play when they came to visit me. It's challenging enough to make the 3 year olds match the number on the door to the number on the key, and then insert the key to the various shaped key hole. Each door is decorated differently, which makes for interesting examination. Each doorbell has a different ring. My grandson even named the people! I would recommend this durable toy.

My 2 year old daughter loves this toy! She matches each doll to same color door and loves picking out which key belongs to which door by looking at the shape . She can almost open each door on her own which I think is impressive . Love the quality as well.

Our granddaughter loves playing the role of serving ice cream at the ice cream parlor! She is 2yrs old and it's fun to watch her reaction when a 'customer' picks her 'favorite' strawberry ice cream! Sometimes....it's not available! I like the fact that she uses her imagination & hands on dexterity.

My 2 year old daughter got this house for Christmas and she loves it. All her cousins were fighting over it and one kid loved it so much her grandma went and ordered it that day. She does need help unlocking the doors, but I think over time she will get the hang of that. I can keep the keys attached to the house, it just takes some adjusting to get them to the keyhole. The play people are very cute and she loves that they have real clothes. She likes to match each person to the door that matches their clothes and counts the numbers on the keys and doors. Great toy!

This has been my gift of the year. I have purchased four. Three were Christmas gifts. Gift ranges were for 3 two year olds and 1 three year old. Both ages enjoyed them even older kids like it. What I like about it is that it is all self contained The doorbell rings are soft not loud or offensive. Each door bell has a different sounding ring tone. The people that come with it are very well made. Just a quality made gift that is really enjoyed (keeps them busy for long periods of time). I really recommend this product
