Is the bassinet approved for overnight sleep? If so, does it need a mattress?

From Graco: Unlike cribs that have rigid sides, playards have flexible sides and the playard mattresses are specifically designed to prevent suffocation. They have a solid base and is less than 1" think in order to meet safety standards. Using a thicker or different sized mattress or padding may allow a child's head to get between it and the sides posing a risk for suffocation. We do not recommend adding any additional mattresses or pads. This pack n play is can be used for playing and sleeping. When used for sleeping you still must provide supervision necessary for the safety of your child. This pack n play is for children less than 30 lbs and under 35 inches tall and not able to climb out.
