Fisher-Price Grow to Pro Basketball

This is the perfect basketball goal for little ones. It is very well made and sturdy, and you don't have to worry about it falling over on your child when used correctly. I did have a very hard time getting the pole into the base even after trying what Fisher Price recommended. After lots of soap and luck I was able to get it in. So far it is holding up nicely, and I expect it to last for years to come.

Other than it was a little difficult to put together, it has been loads of fun!!

Both of my boys (2 and 7) love this! For the older kiddos it's big enough for a real basketball to fit through the hoop. It is super easy to adjust the height. The colors are bright and appealing. The second we took it out of the box and set it up they played for hours! Thank you for a great toy!

This toy has been awesome! We have a wide age range in our home, and this toy has brought all of them together! It can also be adjusted to grow with them for many years of play. The assembly was a little tricky at first, but not so much that I had any real issues. All in all, this is probably one of my favorite toys i've received from Fisher Price.

My daughter loves this basketball hoop. She has been playing with is since we got it. I also love that we will be able to use it for a while. The set up wasn't as easy as I thought it would be but wasn't too bad.

The first thing you notice about the Grow to Pro basketball set is the box. As my little guy said, "WOAH"! The initial impression is a big one. It looks like a lot of fun and it seems really exciting for the little ones. My little guy was very excited to get it out of the box.
The box has a photo of two kids playing with it in a house, but in my opinion, that's a bit of a stretch. First, for safety, you should fill it with water (not in my house) or sand (which makes it impossible to move). Also, it's a basketball hoop. It's bulky. You really need a lot of space -- even if it's for a little one.
The first big issue we came across is that it is a bit difficult to put together. The directions are great -- very self explanatory. However, it is quite hard to firmly put the upright posts in place. We had to get an extra piece of wood to push down on the posts to correctly seat them. (I was even sore the next day!) I am not sure if it maybe was a defect with my particular set or if it is just that difficult so it is sturdy. One it was put together, it looks really cool. The color scheme (blue, grey and green) seems sporty and fun.
Extending it is SO EASY! the hoop and backboard slides up and is locked in place by a plastic piece that pivots from the other post. It's actually a really cool mechanism.
There are no wheels on this, so move it to the spot you would like it to stay before you fill up the bottom. It is pretty smooth on the bottom, so you can drag it on grass on on turf (maybe on decking), but I wouldn't recommend moving it on concrete. It will scrape the bottom and can damage the base.
The ball that comes with it is a perfect size for little hands. It is substantial, but still won't damage anything if you use it in the house. I know this is a bit nit-picky , but the ball is completely orange. I would have liked to have the black basketball stripes on the ball.
My 2-and-a-half year-old son likes the Go-to-Pro basketball hoop even though he hasn't quite gotten the hang of actually making a basket, so it's going to take us a while to grow to pro. Because of this, when he is playing alone, he doesn't play with it for a long period of time. He may make a basket or two, (or try) and then move on. He'll come back to it every so often. He plays with it more when his sister plays basketball with him.
This model is definitely cooler then the other elementary school basketball hoops out there. I also feel it is more substantial -- more sturdy. This will be staying outside on the back porch (with the ball in the cool little divot in the base).

I absolutely love the Grow to Pro basketball hoop. I followed the instructions for assembly and I had no issues I got it completely put together in no more than 9 minutes. I love the fact that I can adjust it for my small one and adjust it for my older one, so they can both get it customized to suit their needs. They have such a blast and it makes me happy mom!!

We've now had the grow to pro basketball post for about one month. It's the favorite "toy" my 3-year old and cousins play when they come over. It's sturdy and encourages physical activity. We had another brand basketball hoop that is smaller and my 3 year refuses to play with it and instead wants the "big kid" basketball hoop. We currently have the post at 4 feet and it's a perfect height for almost all the 3/4 year olds playing. As they get older I can't say for sure it will withstand a group of 10 year olds so I guess I'll know once they get there but for now it's more than perfect.

The colors are vibrant although not my favorite colors but to the kids the colors have made no difference. I have a one year old and I haven't really allowed him to play with it although he's curious because he sees the older kids playing. I can't wait until he can join in the fun. Definitely a great product for kids that will grow with them.

I got this for my kids who are just starting to learn how to play basketball. They absolutely love this basketball net. Love how it adjusts to their height and can be adjusted as they get older and their skills improve. Just wish it came with additional basketballs.

This basket ball hoop is awesome! We've had two other brands come thru our home and this is by far the best one. The base is sturdy and doesn't fall over often like others we have tried. This hoop adjusts and will last your child much longer than your standard child's hoop. My boys(5&3) love this as well as my little girl(almost 2). To be honest, it's even fun for the grownups! It was easy to set up and although it is a large toy it doesn't take up quite as much room as you would think. Fantastic toy to help with hand/eye coordination that will keep your child interested! Highly recommended from this household!!

We were very excited to use the Grow to Pro basketball hoop by Fisher Price. Both my 2 year old and 6 year old enjoyed playing with this toy! It was a little difficult to put together myself, but nothing that two people couldn't handle. We are looking forward to warmer weather to use outside in the summer!

This product is great for the whole family to play together! My boys are 4 1/2 and 2 and both have had so much fun playing basketball together. It is very easy to adjust. It was challenging to put the pieces together as they all just fit, but it is not going to fall apart.

My family recieved this basketball hoop courtesy of Mattel and oh how we love it! My kids range in age from 13 days old to 7 years old and my 3 oldest litterally have a ball playing with this. Right now we have it on the lowest setting but I love that it'll grow with my kids as they get older and taller. A regulation sized basketball also fits in the hoop and can be used but the small soft basketball that is included is perfect for my 2 and 4 year olds. My only concern is that the hoop may bend if my kids decide to go in for a slam dunk! Otherwise this would be a great buy!

My son is 2 and loves to play basketball. I am really excited with the height adjustments. We had a basketball hoop for him prior and this one seems more sturdier and looks like it will withstand a growing toddler. My only problem was assembling; trying to push the pole into the stand was a little annoying because we had to force it in. Besides that we love the product.

I was so excited to receive this product! It was so easy to put together except for the fact that the posts were a little difficult to get into the base(had to use some force).I have 3 boys ages 2,4, and 8 and all of them are having so much fun with this basketball hoop. It is so nice that you can change the hieght on it so it grows with them and the quality is great. This product will definitely not disappoint.

I received this to review for my honest opinion and really was impressed! My children are 5 and 7 and I was concerned it would still be too short but when it arrived, it lifts to 6ft so it makes practicing for all ages fun! I love the colors and design and it comes with a practice ball too! My youngest really like being able to play outside in her yard and practice scoring goals. I'm really glad we got to try it for free!

My son LOVES the Grow to Pro basketball hoop. It's very durable and can handle a little one pushing it around a bit. I like that it can grow with them but also be sturdy enough to withstand windy/bad weather. Perfect gift for a 2-4 year old as it can grow with the child.

The idea behind this is great. However, the net bracket came broken on ours. Because it was placed inside the bigger one, it can still be used, thankfully. I like how this will grow with my child as he gets taller.

We love this basketball hoop! It doesn't take up that much space and we couldn't wait until spring so we set it up in our living room. It was simple to put together besides some strength to get the pieces in place. The small ball that it comes with is perfect for indoor play and little hands. I'm looking forward to moving the hoop outside when the weather is nice and watching my little one have a blast for hopefully many years with the adjustable height!

Received this product in the mail with the pictures of box showing which totally excited my toddler. Begging me to open it up so they could play right away. Love that it adjusts heights so is ideal for more than one child. Way better quality than a previous basketball toy our family once had. Seems a lot sturdier and not as tippy as others. Loves to play with it and we are happy!

It's a great product. My 2 year old loves it, and I feel like it will last a very long time. However, it took about an hour to put together, and there are so many design flaws. It's basically impossible to put together yourself. Between the poles, and the back board, they don't want to slide together! Other than that, it's a great product.

My son was exactly 1 year and 11 months old when we received Grow to Pro. I assembled it when he was asleep and was wondering what his reaction will be - just like I expected he was overwhelmed how big/tall was the toy in front of him. My husband took the ball and threw in the net and my son's reaction was priceless he clapped and laughed and took the ball and copied his dad. That was just the beginning, he had something in mind rather than shooting the ball - to climb on it and to be in the middle of two post so it is important to fill the base with water.

Grow to Pro is a great toy because it will last a long time and is great for my very active son. He played with it every time he sees it. Either as a basketball or a place to "hide". I just had a hard time assembling it, I put a lot of liquid soap, i should have asked my husband's help :) and I hope that the net is a bit tight in the bottom so that it will hold the ball for a seconds.

All in all a great basketball toy for toddlers and young kids.

Received this a little under a week ago. Both my kids of 2 and 4 love it. It's easy for them to reach and I love that you adjust the height. Great for indoors and outdoors. Was to assemble. Took about 10 minutes.

This is a very large and sturdy basketball hoop. If you are looking for a simple hoop for your toddler this probably isn't what you are looking for. But if you want a very well put together hoop that will grow with your child I highly recommend this one. Currently I have it set up in its shortest setting. It's still a little to tall for my 20 month old to reach but she tries really hard to make a basket! This is going to be a great toy in our backyard for years. The only reason I am giving it 4 starts instead of 5 is that it was very difficult to put together. I used a ton of dish soap and had to use a rubber mallet to get the hoop into the peg. At least I know it will never fall out of its place?

This Grow to Pro Basketball is perfect to toddlers who are developing their muscles, improving their flexibility, fine motor skill and hand-to-eye coordination; is perfect as a therapy too since my daughter has a development delay. The first stage setting for toddlers is perfect, the hoop is big enough and the material of the ball is soft. Setting it up was easy, had a little bit a hard time putting the pole inside the hole but we worked it out and finally if you want it sturdy just add or sand as instructed. My two year old daughter loves it, I can tell she has fun by putting the ball through the hoop to get cheers from Mom and Dad.

Got this for my 20 month old son and he LOVES playing with it! I'm happy with how sturdy it seems, although it was quite difficult to put together. I feel confident that the goal is put together well and will last for a while, but I am concerned about when it is time to move the goal to a higher setting. It seems that process will be a bit difficult. We will see once we get there. Until then, my son has had a blast throwing the ball (among other things) into the goal. I know he will continue to get a ton of use out of this basketball goal over the next several years.

This toy is a breeze to put together: you wont need directions. The base can be filled with water or sand for stability. It's designed to last even when kept outdoors. You can extend the height with ease and it goes up to
6 feet tall. My 2 year old loves it but several of our families kids ranging from 2-10 got in on the fun too. The hoop is big enough to make making the basket achievable. I would definately recommend this and for the asking price it is reasonable.

What a great basketball hoop !!! My 4 kids are all able to use it since it is adjustable and they all love it. The whole thing is very sturdy and made to last. They are having so much fun with it and have not stopped using it since we set it up. It is a really nice well built quality toy and I am so glad we got it !!!

I have 3 sons and they ALL love this hoop! The only downfall is that it was quite challenging to assemble. It took 4 adults to get it together. After it was assembled it was a hit, but I questioned my sanity throughout the process. Great toy, hard to assemble.

My sons got this when they were 1. It stayed in the basement unused until my youngest was 7. He has used it every day since. He is 12 years old, 105 lbs and dunks on this thing and so do his friends. It has taken a daily beating for years! He is an avid basketball player so he knows his way around a hoop. It JUST broke this weekend and I am happily buying a new one. Wonderful craftsmanship.

I was exited to set this up but it's turning out to be a nightmare. Been trying to go at this for a good hours and it's still not set up .First I had to google the instructions, since i couldn't find them . Turns out they are in one of the post , so ok cool . I get the instructions out of the post , no problem . Then I read there should be screws inside the post as well ...well as you see in the photo the screws are in the post , at the far end of the post , TAPED, and where there is NO OPENING !!! Been trying for the past hour to try to fish it from the bottom or Rip the bag , to no avail . I get this may be just mine. Unless I'm able to figure out how to get the screws out , I'll be returning this .

Just to be clear i have not use this . This review is solely based on the difficulty to set up the product.

We bought this awhile back and the kids weren't too interested (just not into basketball). Now they want to use it but they are older and I can't find the piece that allows you to adjust the height so it's too little for them to use. I can't find the part online either. Anyone able to help??

Not sure about the mom who left the "HORRIBLE" review because if our two year old was upset about a gift he might not be getting another one for awhile. This hoop is the real deal. Works great with ability adjust the height. Our little guy turned two and we stepped up from the little tikes one which was not adjustable. Should of just gotten this one first. AWESOME HOOP AND LITTLE MAN LOVES IT!!!!

Have two boys 12 and 16. Bought it twelve years ago and still works fine with teenagers dunking on it. Very sturdy!

This was giving to my son for Christmas 3 years ago and he is now eight. This is great for children 3 years & up. The basketball can go as tall as 6 feet. He loves it and it is perfect. Fits perfectly in his room and can be played outside as well. His friends enjoy playing with him as well. He has a cousin who is 20 years old who comes over and play with him. It is a hit. Just wish the ball was a little bigger but other then that it is awesome.

I must agree with the review by Mommy2Boys77. I bought mine several years ago and now would like to go back to the 3 foot height for newest grandchild. There is no way I can force that "inner post" into the front square socket.

My son received this as a birthday gift for his second birthday. We were very excited about it until we tried assembling it. It was impossible!! I don't mean difficult...I mean IMPOSSIBLE to get the poles into the base!!! We tried the tricks in the instructions...bar soap...dish soap...I put all my wait into it and still...NOTHING! I'm sorry to say that this will be going back to the store and we now have a VERY upset little 2 year old.

Our kids love the baseball goal, except that the net started to break into pieces after a few months. Is there a replacement part for it. Everything else works great!&

I bought this for my toddler son. We originally put the pole with the backboard attached to it in the base (there are two slots), to have the hoop at 3' height. Now he's ready to have it raised, which requires you to remove that pole from the base and slide it into the other pole, but it is IMPOSSIBLE to get the backboard pole out of the base so you can put it in the other, height-adjustable pole. Really. Impossible. If I could ever get it out to put into the height-adjustable pole, I'm sure it would be great, but it shouldn't require a car-load of Teamsters to simply remove the pole from the base. I wish someone from Fisher-Price would let me know what the secret is. As of now, huge irritation about this in our house ...

I have a four year old goal the net is shot I can't find a new net anywhere what am i sopose to do to buy a new basket ball goal !!!!!!!!!!!!!

We've had this item in our After School Program for more than 7 years and the kids use it every day (heavy use). The net didn't last but the kids didn't notice. It gets hours of heavy play every day and it's still good as new. Doesn't tip during play, yet they can move it. Thank you, Fisher Price, for an awesome product!

This is an awesome value!! I bought this item for my son 5 years ago for his 3rd birthday. He is now 2 weeks away from turning 8 and finally our basketball hoop has seen its better day...and I am getting ready to purchase another one because I am so satisfied with the product!!!! This basketball hooop is so well made, my basketball hoop has sat outside for 5 years and has blown over or been knocked over hundreds of times and it has still held up. It's fun and my two boys play with this nearly every day. It never gets boring and really is a good value. It's great that it can adjust between 4 and 6 feet so it grows with your child. I highly recommend this toy for any little boy between the ages of 3 and 8.

From day one, I could never get the upright to fit properly into the base and was always forced to shim it to keep it from tipping. Beyond that, it worked fine, but from a company with a reputation like FP, I expected better. Then,when I went to sell it later on, I tried to download the instruction manual but only received a one-page caution about plastic shavings inside the rim. I ended up having to give it away instead of recouping a little bit of money. I find it hard to believe I was the only one with this problem, but don't see any mention of it anywhere. Who knows?

product, Grow-To-Pro Basketball adjustable. Very well made product. My Grandson just loves to play with it, however, the net didn't last very long and now I am having problems finding a replacement net. Can you advise to where I may purchase this item?

I have just ordered 2 replacement nets for this basketball set. I don't object at all to doing this - my grandchildren all love it. I have read reviews about the net disintegrating from sunlight. I think people might be surprised to learn that goldfinches are actually often responsible for the missing netting. I watch this happen every year and it is interesting to watch these little birds work to get pieces loose to add to a nest. So the durability issue is probably not a manufacturing problem - just a coincidence of nature.

We just bought this for my son's 3rd birthday. We have only had it less than a week but he seems to really like it. He loves sports and we liked how it could grow with him. It is very sturdy and was easy to put together.The only reason I gave it 4 stars on the interest is he is only 3...his attention span nill to nothing!

My grandson is 29 months old and was very excited to play.....The best thing is that he will have it a long time. Great product....
