Not a good rear facing car seat
By KatieLongoria
from undisclosed
on May 26, 2021
This car seat does not work well for rear facing. I have installed this car seat using both the car seat straps to attachments on car and using the lap belt path. The car seat was no secure either way. The buckle itself becomes tangled so easily and is difficult to latch. I am so unhappy with this car seat.

I got to admit this car seat was the worst car seat I have ever purchased. It is super cheaply made and not comfortable at all. The padded covering is super thin so your child will be feeling that plastic the whole time its in it. Yes its nice that its slim and can be put next to another car seat perfectly but there are so many other brands that are better than this one quality wise.

It wasn't a sturdy car seat I didn't feel secure with my grand baby. It wasn't up to the stander have the other Evenflo car seat that I have seen. It was flimsy to me but it was better than not having your child in a car seat. I will be using them as a back-upcar seat.

I actually downgraded from an Evenflo All-in-one seat, which was really big and kinda bulky. I have a Kia Sorento and needed a 3 across seat. This seat fits 2 side-by-side perfectly and appears to leave plenty of room for a third . Easy to install. No complaints so far.

Received this as a baby shower present. Wishing I would have returned it and purchased the car seat I had for my first born. It is extremely hard to install where it does not move more than 1" side to side, simply because it seems to slide along the belt holding it in place. I can't stand the hook clips - so much harder to connect to the UAS anchors. Also they have different length settings for the straps (infant/toddler). Unfortunately my son appears to fall in between the two so I'm either bending his arms back uncomfortably to get him into the seatbelt or putting them on normally but it doesn't feel like it fits tight enough.

I am very pleased with this car seat! Evenflo makes such great products. My almost two year old is still rear facing in this seat and he is so comfortable. I love how easy this seat is to move between cars. It is light weight so it makes it easier to carry the seat and my child when switching cars. The dark colors help prevent staining. There is just enough padding to keep my child safe without being too thick. I love this seat and will continue to use Evenflo products for my children.

Great color. Does not show food drink stains easily when I cannot get them out. Has click connections to secure instead of the ridiculously difficult clips on so many other car seats (this was a must have for our next car seat). Tons of adjustment as your child grows. LIGHTWEIGHT!!!!

Awful!

So I got this seat free as compensation from the airline company since they lost a piece of the carseat I was traveling with originally. I kept it and when I had a second child I figured this would be great... yeah... no! Terrible. Flimsy plastic and incredibly hard to install. My daughter seemed comfortable as it is well padded. But I wasn't happy with my own installation so I actually went to a fire station where 2 very fit firefighters would not secure the seat where it wouldn't move or slide side to side by a significant amount. Just an awful design. I would not recommend this product. I went and bought the evenflo every stage with easy installation and I love it. Completely different in quality.

I wasn't sure how this would compare to the much more expensive models I saw in the store. I decided to take a chance and order it since I have the matching booster seat for my older daughter. I am glad I did. This thing is solid and very padded. I have it rear facing and while it is very tall and somewhat challenging to get her in since she is in the middle seat (due to my type of vehicle not the seat itself) I feel she is very safe and secure. I highly recommend this seat. This seat in not too wide either. I can fit this and the booster in the back of a Jeep Wrangler and still have plenty of room for a passenger back there.

I purchased this for our second car to eliminate logistical challenges of having a single car seat. I was looking for something inexpensive and safe and this car seat checks both of those boxes. Overall I find this to be a good purchase. I do find this car seat to be "less than" our Chicco NextFit Zip. The SureRide is more difficult to set up, more difficult to install, and seemingly offer is my child less comfort as there are not shoulder pads or a crotch pad. I do not look forward to uninstalling this car seat to adjust it to be forward facing as the install process was pretty frustrating.

Not very Easy to install, Tightening is difficult
By TouShae

on February 17, 2019
OK for the price. Not quite as padded as more expensive seats but it costs a lot less. The best thing about this seat is its lightweight if you need to move it between cars, but I hope you don't have to. I found it very difficult to install in the car and the straps were too short if I needed to install rear facing. The plastic on the bottom stick out out a little bit, so you really need to make sure you have a cover on your seat. I could see this tearing a hole in a seat eventually. The straps seem to be hard to tighten, no matter which way you have it facing. Sometimes one side is loose and one is tight. They also don't come with shoulder strap pads, I would purchase some separately if you can. It rubbed on my sons neck and made marks. It doesn't recline very far, so when my toddler fell asleep his head fell forward a lot and it looked uncomfortable.

The Sureride is a great, long lasting and budget-friendly option. It lasts from 5-65 pounds and has a very tall shell so it will actually fit big kids. The seat does take up quite a bit of room front-to-back. My Odyssey is very roomy, but this was close to touching my front seat. The rear-facing foot flips forward, but when the seat was properly installed, it did not make contact with the vehicle seat.

Easy to install & tall sides
By Mommy M.

I have had this carseat installed for over 2 months now in my van. I like the carseat. It was easy to install. I love that the sides are higher than other car seats for side impact protection. I like the idea of having a sensor for drivers to not leave a baby in a car. I don't like that there isn't any added foam protection and seems a little flimsy. This car seat is probably best in full size vehicles with roomer back seats.

Super-big & comfy!
By dreckgos

on June 12, 2018
I purchased this for my 16 months old who is 90% in height and weight. I did not expect it to be so comfortable (soft padding) and it is HUGE in the sense that there is so much space inside it for the baby! Of course, the outside dimensions are also large, but I would say space is efficiently used. The only thing that does not convince me is the fasteners... they take a while to get used to. Other than this, great product, would buy again.

Trusted brand with high standards, meets our needs
By Stacimaci

on June 6, 2018
My husband and I completely trust Evenflo brand. It's the only brand that we use for carseats and travel systems for our 2 sons. Even the seats we have purchased for grandparent vehicles are Evenflo. We have always been happy with the ease of installation, smoothness of the belts, cup holder size/placement, weight of seat, pricing and safety ratings.

This seat didn't let us down. We utilize this seat for forward facing and installation was a breeze. It fit snug into the captain seats of my Tahoe and there was lot of leg room to the front seat. The harness straps are easily adjustable and clip together with little effort. The only thing about the straps is they seem a little close together. My son sometimes gets red marks on his neck and complains about them. He doesn't complain about the straps in our other seats. The weight of this seat wasn't too bad for me to move. I guess I would say that it was light and not burdensome.

The drawback to this seat is that there are no cup holders. That for me is the biggest negative as there is no where to sit a drink or even a few small toys.

All in all, I would recommend this convertible seat as it is safe and affordable.

Super soft

I was given this seat for free in exchange for my honest review.

The seat is great, the fabric is amazingly soft. It is on the larger size, my 1 year old who is 22lb, and 29in tall looks tiny in the seat.

The seat was relatively easy to install, the hardest part was figuring out how to change the lower anchors to the rear facing position, since the seat came with them in the forward facing position.

We got this one about a month ago and have been using it for a backup. Very durable and our five year old fits in it pretty well. The back goes pretty high so that is a good thing. We have been debating using this one as opposed to the search cover kind that doesn't have a back. It seems much safer this way. Not really easy to tote around but great for more permanent use in the car.

Good Car Seat
By BusyFamily

on May 20, 2018
It's a pretty good car seat. Installation was easy. I like the padding around the lower buckle, keeps my little one comfortable and it prevents from pinching his skin while buckling him in. After a little use however, it's been difficult to put on of the buckle clip in. But one major con about this car sear is the "attachable" cup holder. It's feels very flimsy and not a practical solution.

Very bulky and not very feature rich
By Selmer
from Oshkosh, WI, United States
on May 19, 2018
In the interest of transparency, I'd like to first say I was given this product free to write a review.

I've been using this car seat for a couple months now to put it through its paces to form a more thorough opinion, and my analysis thus far is as follows...

The Good:
This car seat is very light particularly for how big it is. With the latch system it is very easy to install and take out of the vehicle making it easy to transport. The straps used for the latch system are much easier to release than the car seat I was using prior to receiving this one which is a big benefit if you plan to move it between vehicles regularly.

Where it falls short:
It is gigantic; so much so that when installing it as a rear facing seat it only fits in our F-150. Due to the reclined position when it's rear facing it won't fit in a Mazda6 at all and only fits in a Hyundai Santa Fe if the front seat is all the way forward and relatively upright. Additionally, due to the size of this car seat it is difficult to carry around when traveling (I'd take the heavier car seat over this one when flying for example). The other shortcoming I've found so far is position of the release lever for the child restraints is difficult to get to when the seat is rear facing and I find I regularly have to open the Velcro cover over the release just to loosen the restraints enough to get our son out.

Overall Summary:
This is a decent forward facing car seat with plenty of room to grow with your child, but it's too big for probably most vehicles when rear facing. It's easy to install and switch between vehicles, and as long as it's forward facing it's easy to get the child in and out. It's nothing fancy and doesn't have a lot of bells and whistles, but if your main criteria are safety and ability to grow with your child this is an alright option.

Overall a Good Seat
By Johnix
from Texas
on May 15, 2018
We are currently using the seat in the rear facing position. Installing the seat in the car was difficult for the rear facing position, but would be a lot easier to install in the forward facing position and thus is the reason for 4 stars. It is bulky, but all rear facing non-infant car seats seem to be bulky. I also had to use a towel in the seat to achieve the appropriate angle. The kid is comfortable in the car seat and the SureSafe sensor provides peace of mind as we are getting to the stage of him being able to unbuckle himself.

Super Comfortable
By Busymomofthree

on May 14, 2018
I got this car seat one month ago for my little girl who is just about two years old. My first thought was that it is much bigger than any other convertible car seat that I have had, but that just adds to the comfort for my little girl. The padding on the seat almost feels like a memory foam and she has plenty of room to grow. We won't be needing to buy another car seat for her at all since this supports up to 65 pounds and there are plenty of positions for the shoulder harness. The harness covers are an added bonus that help prevent rope burn when adjusting the harness and the buckle cover keeps her comfortable there too. I love the little pockets that hold the metal part of the buckle out of the way and keeps it cool, especially with summer coming. Although we don't have a vehicle new enough to take advantage of the Sensor Safe technology, I love that Evenflo has added it, and will for sure use it when we upgrade our vehicle. Would definitely recommend this seat to anybody.

Spacious, Comfortable, LIGHTWEIGHT seat!
By Kristina1219

on May 7, 2018
We've been using this seat for a few weeks, and so far, I couldn't be happier. Its very lightweight and easy to carry. It was installed in my Honda Odyssey very easily, with a tight fit. Its wide and spacious enough for my large, almost 4 year old, but still slim enough that I can maneuver the seats on either side of it easily. I LOVE the padded back crotch strap feature, as it has already saved us from a few pinches from quick latching! My only complaint is that the seat has to be removed from the vehicle to adjust the shoulder straps from behind the seat. That, however, is a minor inconvenience since it rarely has to be done if using the seat for only one child. Overall, this seat is a great, lightweight seat, that feels safe and sturdy.

Light for travel
By Denverlady
from Denver, CO, USA
on May 1, 2018
This car seat is very light so great for travel. We will be using this to travel to Europe this summer. It is airline compatible too.

The latch system is difficult to install so it is tight enough in a Nissan Rouge. In order to install properly I have to use the seat belt for both forward and rear facing and use a nonslip mat underneath.

The seat has one incline angle. It has a rear facing incline bar and insert body cushion for infants.

The rear facing position still has enough room for my small 28 pound 3 year old to sit comfortably. The seat has a huge rear facing weight and height limit 40 pounds or 40 inches. My 3 year old is only on the 4th seat belt height so we will be rear facing for a long time still.

The chest clip has a neat sensor - perfect if you've got a kid who unbuckles or if you might forget you put your kid in the back seat. The sensor plugs into the car electronics.

Plenty of room but pretty basic
By Liblbh
from Chicago, IL, USA
on April 30, 2018
This car seat has ample room for your little one on all areas (feet, middle, shoulders, and head). My daughter fell asleep pretty easy and looked pretty comfortable in it with plenty of head room so she could put her head to the side instead of letting it fall forward. There was a pretty cool feature that some people would find handy. If your little one constantly unbuckles his/her chest buckle, there is a transmitter connected to the car seat that you hook up to your car, and it will tell you if the buckle is buckled. However, we don't have a problem with either of my children doing this so this feature wasn't very useful to us. It may have other functions as well, but have not had the time to explore it completely.
That being said, the other features on the car seat are pretty basic. The straps to hook into the car hooks are just the metal hooks you press down and you have to unhook the whole thing if you want to raise or lower the shoulder straps. Not anything too annoying as long as you don't have to move it around often, but wish they upgraded those features a little bit from a couple years ago (when I bought my last car seat from even flo).

I received this car...
By Leesa

on April 24, 2018
I received this car seat a couple of weeks ago. I was surprised at how large, but lightweight the carseat is itself. Most carseats this size are pretty heavy in my opinion. It was a little difficult to get the carseat to latch securely, but after several attempts it was pretty secure. I wish the carseat comes with seatbelt pads as the seatbelt rubs against my child, making it uncomfortable for her. Other than that, this is a great carseat for future travels and having to haul around a carset.

Easy to install!
By Sarah55
from Atlanta, GA, United States
on April 24, 2018
This car seat was very easy to install for rear facing (I have not installed it forward facing yet). My child seems to be extremely comfortable in it and can get out easily, when it is time to get out. It is very sleek and nice to look at, and the padding is very soft.

I have two concerns: 1. The release button to loosen the straps stuck very tightly the first dozen or so uses. It was very stiff and made both tightening and loosening the belt difficult. After about a dozen uses, it is working very well and is now easy to tighten and loosen. 2. The removable headrest does not stay put well. It gets a little in the way while trying to put my child into the car seat and he easily rips it out and throws it across the car.

Great Value
By JP215

on April 24, 2018
It's a pretty basic car seat. There's nothing too special about it. It's easy to install, with the latches being easy to use. There's nothing worse than not being able to unlatch the car seat when you need to move it. I wish it had more padding for comfort - there's not a whole lot. It goes up to 65 lbs, which is fine for a basic car seat for the price. The rear facing is only to 35lbs, which for my son who's only 17 months and 30lbs, it's not the best fit for him to stay rear facing. Overall, if you're looking for a car seat cost wise, this would be it.

I've had better
By Simp
from Wisconsin, USA
on April 24, 2018
I had high hopes for this coming out of the box. The cushion was very nice looked comfortable. It has a little spot for the buckles when you're loading the child in and out. Has a great feature for those parents that might forget about having their kid on the vehicle with them. The crotch buckle is great, has extra padding around the entire thing holds in place better, more comfortable and easier to find after child placement.
Then we started using it, the straps to secure the child are difficult to tighten I mean you can't tighten by pulling on the single strap by their feet. I looked for something obstructing it and was nothing. I end up using two hands one of which is on the back side to pull the harness down. This seat the straps tighten from the top of the strap. I have another Evenflo that tightens from the bottom and is much better. The spot to hold the buckles is useless because a little bump as your putting the kid in and they fall back out as if you never put them there. It came with an extra pad which I thought was great but created more of a disaster loading and unloading the child in The seat as it got folded up and moved around. The securing straps/clips for securing the car seat to the vehicle seat are part of the common problem I found out Evenflo compared to other manufacturers. The way they are designed makes it very difficult to tighten and loosen properly to change the seat around. I put this in an F150 and a Sienna and have major issues being able to put them on and take them off. My sister has a seat that takes one hand to tighten the seat securing strap and an easy release. None of the Evenflo seats I've had are nearly that easy.

The SureRide DLX Convertible car seat was great for travel with my toddler. This convertible car seat is very lightweight, and our family took it with us when we traveled from state to state. We also had no problem installing the car seat into the car. We had some difficulty adjusting the straps to fit our son's needs. Comfortable, safe and easy to use!!
By Steph0627

on April 23, 2018
We love everything about this seat!! My criteria were first and foremost SAFETY....I wanted to know that my child would be very well protected in bad weather or a car crash or any dangerous situation because we frequently travel....and second, that I find one that could grow with her so we wouldn't have to repeat this process in 6 months. This particular model is one of the safest on the market and it will grow with him. The covers are soft and comfortable. I also love that the lower buckle sits at a perfect location so I don't need to go "dig" under my toddler's heavy butt and the sides of the seats where it dips are at a lower angle so I don't accidentally hit her head putting her in the seat.
It is very easy it is to install and transfer between cars. The color is great as it hides dirt!! :) I absolutely recommend!!

Great car seat. I can use it for years to come since it is a rear and forward facing seat. The fabric color is perfect for messes and is easy to take off for cleaning. Latches are simple and easy to install but also sturdy. Sensor safe chest clip helps remind you that baby is unlatched which is a nice feature that we can utilize with our stop/start pickup. I will say I didn't see a manual, but I will be going to the local fire department to check if installed correctly anyways.

Disappointing to a diehard Evenflo fan
By Melaniexb

As much as I have adored every Evenflo seat I have owned, this one is definitely an exception to that rule. The kickstand paired with less than substantial plastic made for a ridiculously frustrating install. The stand itself tried to fold on several occasions, was extremely difficult to get placed with rolled up towels needed to level it. The plastic on the seat flexed an alarming amount with the pressure of the seatbelt and I'm worried that the feet on the seat will leave horrendous
dents on my car seat. Unfortunately I think they missed the mark on this seat by far.

Great value and features!

I was very impressed with this car seat. I've tried several other car seats of various price ranges, and this one seems to be a great value. My nearly 3 year old daughter and I both liked the comfort features of padded shoulder straps and padded belt buckle (picture included). The sensor safe feature was also impressive and easy to install!

Another item many people don't think about when purchasing a car seat is replaceable harness straps. This seat has removable straps so you can clean more thoroughly in the inevitable event you little one throws up in the car seat. You can replace as needed without replacing the whole car seat. A big deal for me!

Great carseat

I got this car seat a week or so ago. I really like how lightweight it is, how in rear facing it is more upright then my other brand of carseat, the soft fabric and the Bluetooth safety chest clip feature.
My big complaint was the instructions were not the clearest on moving the latch belt to the rear facing belt path first. We struggled for a bit trying to get it installed due to this reason. Once we figured that out it was super fast and easy to install. My one other dislike is how the Bluetooth computer plug in sticks out too far in my hyundia elantra so I can not have the fuse cover over it.
These do not effect the great features of this carseat tho. The safety reminder beeps that your child is still in the seat will be handy for parents. It is not too loud to wake a sleeping child I have found. The side panels are nice and tall so toys do not fall out easily. It is extremely light weight but very safe. Super soft fabric. Nice grey tones. It is easy to adjust the chest or crotch straps. The fabric liner is easily removed for cleaning. My 21 month old really seems to enjoy using this carseat. For rear facing it fits nicely in the back of our Hyundai Elantra. Most car seats do not leave the passenger much leg room. This one makes it much roomier for the front passenger.
I would highly recommend this carseat to everyone!

Great compact convertible carseat

When I first recieved it, I was shocked at how light the box was. I live on the third floor, so usually carrying a carseat and a large toddler is a task. This carseat can easily be carried with one hand, which makes installation a breeze. Its no fuss one piece construction, and basic design makes it easy to clean. I saw some tags on the cover saying "machine wash" but need to dig into the instruction manual to be sure. I have a Hyundai Santa Fe, and this carseat seems about the right size to fit 3 across and does not take up too much room rear facing. My partner drives a sedan, and we will probably have this carseat be the designated one for his car. The only improvement would be the rear facing weight limit was higher. My son is large. 95th percentile large. I would like to do extended rear facing with him, but its tricky to find something that will accomodate him. Other than that, I am looking forward to using this carseat for the sedan and for air travel, if it is FAA certified.

Superior Comfort

I received this product about 3 weeks ago and so far it's great! It would be snug in a smaller vehicle, but in my SUV it works great. It has great cushion and protection for my little guy, and I'm confident that he's comfortable and happy while in it! I would definitely buy again!
