A great backpack for the price
Our twin 15-month-olds traveled comfortably past Yosemite's Vernal Falls and along North Kaibab Trail at the North Rim of the Grand Canyon in these lightweight, well-designed backpacks. With a little fiddling, they put the weight on your hips, easing strain on your upper back... but again, it took a little adjusting to avoid sore shoulders. We did round-trip hikes of about four or five hours, and the girls even napped during the outings (evidently unimpressed with the vistas). These packs are great for day hikes, but I wouldn't recommend them for anything more since, as advertised, they don't have space for anything else (and why would you take a toddler into the backcountry anyway??).
ProsLightweight, comfortable for parent and baby

Calling all Dads
I purchased this backpack for a male co-worker for whom our department hosted a baby shower. I was specifically looking for something that would appeal to this particular Dad. It was a joy to hear another Dad in the group say that this was a great gift, and he wished his baby had one with the head protection this one offers.

Excellent value
Reviewing the Chicco Smart Support Backpack, I find it a great value especially as I got it on sale. It's hard to find a good carrier under $100. It came with rain hood as part of the purchase. This is used by a 6' Dad and it was found to be more comfortable than a previously tried Kelty.

Our new favorite!
I got this carrier in the hopes that my husband would feel a little more masculine while carrying around our 5 month old daughter than he might with a more "dainty" carrier. It has been everything I expected and more. My husband loves it and my daughter loves it. We get stares when we walk around and everybody talks about how "awesome" it is. We couldn't be happier! :)

Excellent value for money
We bought this backpack to carry a 'large' 18 month old round the Master Golf tournament (where they do not allow strollers). It was great - comfortable and he slept happily on our backs for part of the time and enjoyed getting in. No complaints, especially when your compare prices.
ProsPrice and comfort
ConsOnly thing was the chest strap and waist strap could be made a little tighter for women, I think, but not a real problem.
