Offering a seamless transition, the NextFit^® Max Zip Air provides more calf support in forward-facing mode and a 65 lb. weight limit. A 9-position, Easy-Extend Headrest System raises with the harness to effortlessly accommodate growth throughout both modes and a removable newborn positioner, provides support for infants weighing 4-11 lbs.

The Chicco NextFit has been great for our family. The zip feature is great if your kids get sick or spill something. It has a higher weight limit than some of the other seats we looked at. I wish it came in a lighter color so it didn't get as hot in the summer.

We purchased this for our 14 month old that outgrew her Chicco infant seat. We have the Air jogger stroller and love how it keeps her cool. She's a sweaty kid, that's what drew me to the car seat. I LOVE the zip off cover features! How many times have your kids, vomited, exploded #2 or spilled every snack you've ever had to give all over the seat?
The safety features are great. The fact that it has several recline positions is a bonus. Regular rear facing convertible seats did not fit well in our car.

Full disclosure: We received this seat in exchange for this review. This seat was provided for free with the only requirement being I write this review. I could give 1 star with zero repercussions...

But, I give it 5 stars. I have only had it for about two weeks, but the initial fit and finish is very nice!

As my family is growing, I found myself frequently moving our only "convertible" seat between our two cars. This became cumbersome. Especially now that we have two children. So, we needed a 2nd seat. We ended up with this seat and could not be happier.

The first things I noticed about this seat compared to our existing seat was that the padding was much thicker and heavier. The compartment area where a child sits is a much more snug fit. The overall seat is noticeably heavier, seems better built, and sturdier. It really made me feel that if I were to be in an accident with my child, they would be better protected in this seat over our other seat.

I hate reading the manual. So, it did take me about 2 minutes to figure out all the different adjustments needed to properly fit this seat in my car. But, once I figured it out, it was super easy to fasten into my pickup truck. (I did then go back to the manual to make sure I didn't miss anything...)

The only drawback I have found is that the cup holder seems as though it was an after thought. Our existing seat has two cup holders, one on either side, build into the seat. This one has just a single cup holder that kind of just attaches to the side.
But, it does seem that design decision may have been intentional and a casualty of the previously mentioned heavier build.
I would take the better built seat over extra cup holders any day...

This convertible carseat is quick and easy to install, which makes transferring from one car to another easy to do. The latch feature or the lock off for the seatbelt makes the carseat secure and safe when installed properly. It is very padded and seems extremely comfortable for a child to sit in while not being overheating. The zip feature is very helpful with a messy toddler who has snacks in his carseat because it can be easily unzipped and washed. With its safety, comfort and easy to use convenient features I would highly recommended this car seat to anyone looking for an all around great seat for an infant or toddler. Chicco has provided me with this car seat to share my honest opinion on the product.

This is a great convertible carseat in so many ways. The latch feature and tightening strap makes this seat and the belt extremely tight in the vehicle and secure on the child. The seat is very padded and made with comfortable fabric to surround the child. The fabric also zips off which makes cleaning up after a messy toddler very easy. Another plus is the surf green color which our son totally loves. We have already recommended this seat to friends looking to buy a convertible carseat. This carseat has literally changed our car rides for my 3 year old. Before we had the Atmos, my son rarely slept in his carseat as he was not able to recline and his head would uncomfortably hang forward. Now, he often is able to nap while we run errands or pick up older siblings from school. He is so much happier and comfortable. I love when products convert to the growth of a child. This carseat is no exception. It seamlessly reclines or adjusts to different heights and ages. It is also surprisingly lighter in weight than I expected and is incredibly easy to install in our van that does not have anchors without breaking your arm trying to thread the seatbelt through the back area. I would highly recommend this product.

Good but far from great!

We used the Keyfit 30 until we need to upgrade. The Keyfit worked great but often left my child sweating (even on very short trips). When we upgraded, we specifically looked for the Zip Air for the additional breath-ability. First, the product is only available at Toys R Us. The hand off and the purchase experience was horrible. Second, the Zip Air lacks durability. We've had the seat for less than a year a materials are falling apart. I'm certain a new cover is in the near future. Finally, the Air doesn't provide much air so it's not worth the additional money.

We recently switched from the Graco convertible carseat too this one and our toddler loves going in this seat so much better. He is 2 and forward facing and just seems so much more comfortable with all of the extra soft padding. It's also nice because he was always so sweaty when we got him out of his other seat and even when it's been warmer we haven't had that at all with this one. We haven't had to wash the cover yet, but the zip feature will make the frequent washing SO much easier! This seat much rides comfortable and safe for our child and we love it!
