Thankful for a double jogger with non toxic fabric finishes. I use it daily on our gravel trail. Great under storage. Bought a generic water bottle holder for the handle bar at Target.

After a lot of research and comparing this to the Bob double stroller we chose the Indie Twin. While we are not joggers we prefer jogging strollers because of the suspension and ease of use compared to non-jogging strollers. We got a Bob with our first kid but because they are so close in age we needed a double stroller. Boy do I wish we had gone with the Bob! The Indie Twin has a lot of nice features that the Bob does not but it falls flat in comparison when it comes to performance. We love the adjustable footrest, big canopies and big cargo pocket but the stroller has some serious flaws and we are going to attempt a return. Firstly, the brake pedal on the Indie Twin is badly placed and difficult to engage and disengage. The pedal is designed for you to push up/forward to unlock and down/back to lock. Because the pedal is long and flat, you have to push your foot very far forward to disengage the brake. It’s awkward to do, and the position of the pedal makes it a lot harder, because it is right under the center of the stroller, which is right under the cargo bag. As you can see in the picture, the metal used to hold the brake pedal is bent. Honestly what kind of metal did the company use? It’s very weak if it’s going to bend. We don’t use this every day (usually 1-2 times per week max) and we have only had it for about 2 months. The brake pedal issues discourages us from using it because we are worried about our children’s safety in it. If the metal is bent there, what does that say about the rest of the frame? The welds are sloppy (see pictures) and the frame is so much less sturdy than our Bob. The Bob can handle being tilted up with both children in it to get it up over a curb, while the Indie Twin can’t even do that. If you try you just end up pushing down on the frame and worrying about bending it. Paint has even started to peel on it. For the price of this stroller ($1000 with tax!!!) it should be much higher quality and we are very disappointed. Money is tight in the current climate, and we thought we were investing in a quality stroller that would last us years. From the way things are going it does not look like that will be the case.

1 Question & 1 Answer

What is the difference between the newest model of the Indie Twin and the prior model?

New for 2022, Bumbleride has updated the parking brake to be sandal-friendly. Previous models had brakes that you could lock from above, but had to unlock from the underside which is less comfortable to do in sandals. The 2022 brake can be locked and unlocked from above by rotating the brake with your heel and toes to lock and unlock.

Another detail that will be even easier for parents is the bumper bar, which has been redesigned so it's easier to access the release buttons. 2021 and older models had hidden release buttons that were more challenging to locate and use.

Besides the updated brake and bumper bar, no other features are changing for the Era, Indie, Indie Twin, or Speed strollers, but other changes like new colors, fabric materials, and accessories are on the way!
