second swing like this - great swing
November 6, 2013
I purchased a swing like this 5 1/2 years ago for my first grandson. A different pattern, but the overall swing is identical. I purchased it at Toys R Us on clearance so I wasn't concerned about the pattern, but everybody loved and still loves it. I like the way it converted to the bouncy seat with ease. Each of my first 3 grandsons loved the swing (it was a constant in my house for about 2 years as my grandsons were stair-steps - all three within 16 months of each other). One of them was very hard to settle at night and I can't tell you how many nights I would bring the bouncy seat into my bedroom and he would sleep on the floor next to my bed. Now, my 4th grandson is using the swing and it is still going strong. People have come in and commented on how nice a 5 year old swing looks, thinking it is brand new!
My youngest daughter wanted a swing and I researched swings again. She really wanted a swing like the one I had previously purchased, but the pattern/design she wanted was still over the $120 mark so I kept on researching. I found this pattern (Flare) on line at Albee and decided to go with it, even knowing it wasn't on the top of my daughter's list. Needless to say ... I had a shocked daughter when she opened her front door one day (arrived 2 days after I ordered it). She set it up the next day and she, her fiancÚ and her fiancÚ's mother all love it ... the pattern is perfect for boy or girl.
This swing is one of the top 2 items I have purchased from Graco (a full size 36" square playyard being the other top item). A must have for all new moms.
ProsConvertibility ... goes from swing to bouncy seat with ease. No additional parts needed. Everything is easily washed. My swing had been in storage in my shed in a large trash bag (I have no idea why we ever threw the box away). When grandson #4 came along we pulled it out and took the seat covers off and washed it and wiped down the frame and it still looks brand new!
ConsReally can't think of anything
Best UsesSwing or bouncy seat. The bouncy seat also comes in handy for a first feeding chair
