You'll Love the Safety; Your Kids Will Love the Style
April 20, 2015
The Regent is a fantastic seat! I have no idea why Britax discontinued it. We have owned the Roundabout and Marathon seats and by far, the Regent is our favorite. We selected the Regent when our oldest was 2 and already weighed 38 pounds. We are a tall family and knew that we needed a seat that she would not outgrow after a short time. The Regent surpassed our expectations! We prefer the safety of a 5-point harness over a booster seat that relies on a regular seat belt, so we liked that the Regent accommodates a child up to 80 pounds! We passed on both of our Regents to our younger child. She is 8 years old and slim and still fits comfortably in the Regent. She loves the side pockets and head rest and has no desire to switch to a booster seat!
Pros
  • Sits flush on the seat; the 5-point harness is easy to secure, the fabric and headrest are comfortable, the seat has side pockets, a child can use this seat for years.
Cons
  • Installation is time-consuming and can take 2 people.

Love the Regent!
May 12, 2014
My children transitioned to the Regent from the Boulevard when their friends were transitioning to booster seats. I insisted that the kids remain in a 5-point booster past when they could legally move into a booster seat, but they wanted desperately to be like their friends. The Regent looks enough like a high backed booster that they were more willing to accept being in a 5-point harness.

Love this Car Seat
March 8, 2010
I decided to get Britax because I am a new driver. I had the infant seat and then went to the roundabout. My two year old is tall and on the thicker side. I can see her and see if comfortable which means less whinning. This seat was easier to put into the car than the other two. We also love the fact that it goes up to 8 years. The only downfall is that its big, however, it fits comfortablly in my chevy cavailer.

Wonderful Car seat, sad to see it go!
February 11, 2010
I'm very sad to see this car seat go, The next car seat that will take its place is the Frontier. Which while is a great seat, its not for EVERYONE! Especially those moms with larger children such as I! My son is 28months, 39.5inches & 40lbs with a torso length of 15inches. HE needs the extra shoulder room this car seat provides, and obviously the extra harness height so he can be at a proper age for a booster "pref 5/6yrs old". But I am pretty excited that a new updated Frontier will be coming out around March, No one knows an exact date but My plan is if it has more harness height then I will be getting it for a second seat. I'm still SO TEMPTED to go ahead and get another Regent though, This is a great price for such a Great Seat!

Great Seat!

Welove this seat! It's pretty big. I have one in our suburban and one in an explorer. My son weighs 42lbs. and is 42 in. tall as a 3 year old. He has plenty of room to grow both in weight and height.I highly recommend this seat for those kids who are tall for their age.

Huge and I Love It!
January 22, 2010
This seat is enormous. But if you have a big enough space to accomodate it, it's great. It will help keep your child in a harness for as long as possible - up to 80 pounds and 53 inches. Easy to install, esp. considering its huge size, snug fit using LATCH, harness straps don't twist a lot, comfortable and wide. I am really happy with this seat!

we have this seat for our 4 year old (almost 5) and we LOVE it! it's very roomy and lives up to the quality of all of the other britax seats we've had in the past. he still has plenty of room and will be using this seat for years to come. we just ordered another one for our 2 year old to use soon. you can't beat this price.

My 2 kids of 3 & 6 yrs old love this car seat. They can fall asleep comfortably in the car without their head tilting down. This is safer & more Comfortable than the booster seat. The belt closure will not snag on the girl's skin when wearing a dress.

I am a big fan of Britax...I don't think there is anything more safe out there! This seat works great for my 3 1/2 year old...she loves it and it's more like sitting in a booster, with the safety features of a car seat! Am thinking of ordering another for hubby's truck!

Solid, safe and comfy

Albeebaby outdid itself with great service on this one! It has the lowest price, free shipping and the seat arrived in 2 days. The seat is huge, like an arm chair. But it's equally comfortable. It has nice thick straps that don't tangle up. My daughter who's 40 lbs (5 years old) will fit in it for a long time. She falls asleep in it as soon as the tires hit the road. The only slightly weird thing is the bar that needs to be banged with rubber mallet (?) but that was easy enough. It is stable and doesn't budge when installed properly (which is very easy, especially if you had Britax before). This seat gets high marks for safety on a lot of carseat boards. Just the fact that it keeps your child in a 4 point harness longer then any other seat on the market is a reason good enough to spend $160. It is a pretty sand color with gray (almost silver) accents. It is gender neutral. But if your daughter like mine prefers pink princess seats show her the attached manual with the picture of a girl dressed in a pink princess dress and wearing a crown and she'll be happy :). Good job Britax. Great job Albeebaby!

Best Seat!
August 26, 2009
I have all Britax carseats for all my kids because they are rated the best for crash tests. I love this seat because it goes up to 80 lbs. so it's made for older kids who are ready for a booster seat but safer since it's a five point harness.
