2nd carseat purchase of this brand
September 15, 2013
I bought this exact carseat 3.5 yrs ago for my son. I desperately wanted the same one for my daughter, who is now 9 months, but First Years discontinued this "rail stripe" print. Somehow Albee baby got them in and I jumped on it the second I saw it! I love the first years seats. One big thing is you do not have to buy a booster next. This seat is good enough for them up to 65 pounds and is tall enough as well. I love the muted color of this pattern and so happy to find a 2nd one 3 years later! I actually bought a Britax model before I found this but I hated how scratchy the material felt. This material is super soft and the cover comes off easily to wash! I've seen random reviews on other sites of these seats about being big and hard to install. Installation is super easy and ALL convertible carseats are big!

I know my child is safe!
June 14, 2013
Although it it's a bit on the heavy/ bulky side, this is a superb seat. it is constructed of durable materials and doesn't feel cheap like many car seats we looked at. it is really easy to adjust the straps. if you don't have anchors in you car, then it takes a lot longer to install (hence only 4 stars). once installed, however, it won't budget an inch! haven't used it rear facing. our almost three year old has been in it for over a year now and has never complained about discomfort, even on 14 hour road trips! love it and would buy another in the future. it is on the pricey side, but honestly, isn't your child's life worth it?!
Pros
  • easy to adjust.
  • comfortable.
  • secures tightly.
  • anchors easily.
Best Uses
  • all
Cons
  • hard to install with seatbelt.
  • heavy/bulky.
  • expensive.

First Years True Fit Premier

We love this car seat in general. The only issue is that when it is in the rear-facing position, it is difficult to tighten the harness as the strap is up against the rebound bar, and only small fingers can reach in to pull tight and loosen.
Pros
  • Lots of cushioning
  • Rebound bar is great in rear-facing
Cons
  • Difficult to get strap to tighten when in rear-facing position

First Years C670 car seat
December 15, 2012
This car seat looks great, has appealing features, and is very highly rated as to safety, but installation instructions are somewhat confusing and it would definitely not fit in every car's back seat.. Albee's sale price was super--best around.
Pros
  • excellent highway safety rating
  • attractive appearance
  • very secure harness set-up yet seems comfortable for child
  • convertible as child grows
Cons
  • confusing installation instructions
  • fits in back seat of Hyundai Santa Fe but not likely to do so in much smaller cars

Best Value!

This is my second C670 True Fit in Rails Stripe. I researched and selected this seat for its ease of use ratings and have not been disappointed. I would only change a couple of design flaws: the crotch buckle cover comes off too easily and is annoying to keep up with, the head cushion caused my son's head to fall forward when he fell asleep- even when the seat was at the correct angle, so eventually I took it off, the harness adjustment is hard to pull tight while rear-facing, so I suggest you get that adjusted with your child in the seat before you install. These are all minor problems that do not take away from the overall value of the seat, I think. I like that there is a storage compartment for the instructions; if you need to adjust on the go, you have the manual right there and don't have to hunt for it. That is why I'm buying a second one for a second car. The price at Albee Baby is the lowest I've found! I would highly recommend this product to a friend.
Pros
  • high ease of use ratings
  • comfortable for baby
  • neutral color
  • easy enough install
  • sturdy, great quality
  • thoughtful design
Cons
  • Removable head cushion and buckle cover make things complicated

Great car seat
June 16, 2012
Works great and comfortable for our baby. We had to remove the headrest for rear facing in our Toyota Camry but he won't need the headrest for awhile anyway (28", 6 1/2 months).
Pros
  • Very rugged and secure when seat is installed. Rear facing rebound system a nice touch for peace of mind. Very comfortable for our baby.
Cons
  • Seat is very large - fits okay in our car but might not fit in smaller cars.

Review for First Years C670 Car seat
April 20, 2012
I have been very happy with this car seat. I purchased it based on it's high ratings. Aside from the much more expensive Brittax car seats, this is the only one that has the "rebound" feature. It's a bit of a tight fit rear facing, especially now that the regulations have changed and are requiring rear facing until 2 years of age, but it still works just fine. I think if you had a smaller car, it might be tough, or if you really like the seat in front of the car seat reclined pretty far. It's also very easy to install- we have a different model of a First Years carseat and it was a bit of a challenge to get the LATCH to attach, but with this model, you just push the LATCH in until you hear it click (and check it by pulling, of course!) You don't have to try to have your fingers under there, trying to guide the LATCH or find it! I shopped around for a better price, and could not find one.
Pros
  • High safety ratings
  • Rebound feature
  • VERY easy to install
  • Don't have to re-thread straps to adjust- AWESOME!!!
Cons
  • Difficult to access strap to tighten when rear facing, but this is true of most rear facing seats.

Great Product!!!!
April 7, 2012
I purchased this item for both my husband and my vehicle's. The seat is large, but it is of high quality. I did have to use towels under the seat to obtain a better fit and tightness. My husband's car is an older model without the latch system, it was fairly simple to install with the seatbelt, however I found that the seatbelt buckle and the little plastic circles on the seatbelt did get in the way of the lockoffs. I fould that the towel did help with this problem because it gave the seat some height. My vehicle does have the latch system, the only difficulty i had was tightening the strap because it was pushed against the car seat, however, i did eventually get it tight. I was concerned with the exp. date since this is an older model, but for the price, I couldn't pass it up. My seats expire in the end of 2017. So far this seat has worked out great for my 10 month old, he loves looking out the window and when he sleeps his head doesn't slump forward like with some models. Overall this seat is ranked excellent in safety and has turned out to be a great investment! I hope this review is helpful to you all!
Pros
  • Sturdy, high quality seat.
  • Great cushion!
  • Very tight fit.
  • Excellent Price!
  • Easy instructions!
Cons
  • Difficult to adjust the tightness of the harness while rear-facing, however this hasn't been a huge issue for us thus far. The harness height adustment does take a both arms and requires you to be straight on with the car seat, making that difficult with rear facing.

good overall
February 12, 2012
I have been very happy with this carseat on many levels. My husband said it was very easy to install. It is so nice that you can remove the top headrest until your child needs it (my 9 mo old still has months without needing to put the top headrest on); this allows for the front seat to not have to be pushed all the way up, like you have to do with many carseats. It is a nice color, black with a greyish color. It is very easy to adjust the shoulder height without having to rethread. My only complaints are that the straps do twist quite easily, but i think that just happens. Also, it is a bit difficult to make it a nice snug fit once you buckle the baby in, but I think I am sitll getting used to it. My son has plenty of shoulder room, room in the seat, and seems comfortable.
Pros
  • easy to adjust shoulder straps
  • nice color
  • roomy for child
  • removable top headrest
Cons
  • twisting straps
  • a little difficult to tighten

Great Seat, with one small issue
February 9, 2012
Great car seat, we bought this specifically due to the rebound energy management system. This enables you to install the seat rear facing with an increased level of safety. We have a 15 month old and have the seat installed in the center seat of an 2006 Honda Accord and a 2012 Acura MDX. The seat is tighter in the Acura believe it or not. This will not be a problem when she is old enough to be forward facing but it works. The only other issue is the tightening strap you have to pull to adjust the harness once the little one is in. Sometimes it can fall down between the car seat and the seat back in the vehicle. I am planning on solving this by attaching some sort of secondary strap in case it falls down. Otherwise great seat and couldn't beat the price and service from Albeebaby!

Great car seat!

Safe, solid and secure. Easy to install. Only caveat was the rear seat install was difficult with the cover. It was however possible. Upon getting checked by the fire station, they said it was the best car seat they'd seen!
Pros
  • Comfortable, roomy, nice fabric
Cons
  • Not easy to install rear facing

We all love this seat!
January 20, 2012
I wanted this specific car seat because it received really high ratings for safety and ease of installation. I couldn't find it in any store in my town and did not want to drive the hour distance to the big name store where I'm sure it would have cost a lot more. The price was fantastic and we needed one for each vehicle. The tech installed it in less than 10 minutes. Our daughter is almost 8 months old now and loves her new seat. I hope we are able to use it up until the recommended 65 pounds.
Pros
  • Great price, easy to wash cover, looks nice, easy to adjust straps

Great car seat!
January 6, 2012
We use this seat for our 2.5 year old forward facing. She is tall for her age and she still has a lot of growing room left in this seat. Once you get the hang of installing it, it's easy to do and I am able to get a rock solid install in my car. My daughter LOVES this seat. She started to refuse to use the seat in grandma's car and wanted her "comfy" seat. The only complaint I have is that the pad that goes around the crotch part of her seat belt comes off easily. I always have to check the ground after I pull her out because it comes out with her often. I wish it was on there tighter so I didn't have to worry about losing it. Otherwise, this is a great seat and it's an awesome price!
Pros
  • easy to install
  • comfortable
Cons
  • pad around crotch seat belt comes off very easily

great seat
December 29, 2011
it has only been a few months so we have only used it rear facing with out the headrest. so far it is great i love the ease of changing the strap height. and the rebound bar is a great feature too. i love that it offers extended rear-facing and extended harnessing one problem is that we have a difficult time tightening the harness when it is installed and it is a little wide... other then that it is a really a great seat!

2nd First Years C670
December 27, 2011
I purchased this car seat for my 2nd child... as this is my 2nd C670. I purchased this car seat based on its NHTSA rating. It's one of the ONLY front and rear facing car seats to receive 5 stars in both positions as well as a high rating in the "ease of use" category. Based on the price, it won me over the Britax seats. The only downfall of this seat is it's a little difficut to reach the release button when the seat is rear facing. It's a little low, so I had to wedge my hand down between my 4Runner seat and the car seat to release the child... however, I'd rather do that than pay $100 more for a Britax. LOVE IT!
Pros
  • Price
  • Safety
Cons
  • Minor release issue when the seat is rear facing
