Best Back Support Carrier
September 10, 2014
I just received this carrier and have used it a few times now. It isn't totally perfect, but is one of the BEST I've tried for back support! AND that was one of my main concerns! I don't find it too confusing to use (which was one of the complaints I read prior to purchase) and my little one seems comfortable while snuggled in. I've only been able to have him forward facing, due to his size so far, but like the option of outward facing & back. I am not sold on the fabric. Although the breathability of the mesh seemed like a great quality to have in a carrier (my babies run really warm) the fabric left marks on my newborns legs where the fabric rubbed (he was wearing shorts). The marks on his legs were enough to have me rethink the fabric - but I'll pay closer attention next time he is in shorts, to evaluate the issue further. I hate that the adjustable tabs dangle everywhere and would rather that they could be rolled up and out of the way - but it isn't a deal breaker. The head support is adequate but could use a redesign, especially with a 0-3 month old facing inward, but don't foresee it being an issue as he grows.
Pros
  • back support
  • comfortable
  • breathability
  • ease of use
  • multiple wearing options
Cons
  • fabric is a little scratchy
  • adjustable pulls should have an option for "storage" (like the ergo)
  • no small storage pockets
  • the head support (for inward facing) could use a little redesign for the newborn stage
