Mixed Feelings
May 27, 2008
On the contrary, I was able to put together this stroller without any problem (I assembled it without knowing that the written instructions were in the back of the manual!). Pros:The stroller is beautiful: The fabric is very smooth and sturdy. It looks like a pram when you reverse the hood (my friends complimented me on this look). The basket is huge. After a few practices, the stroller folds up and opens with ease. Great deal of accessories for the price.Cons: Many many sites list this stroller as being 17-18lbs, but it IS NOT. Even without the hood and extra accessories, it weighs about 22 lbs. This is a huge disappointment for me because my apartment is on the 3rd floor with no accessible elevator/escalator. It is very bulky (looks a lot smaller on the internet), making it much harder to lug this around. When folded up, you can only roll the stroller on one side because the basket drags on the floor. The canopy doesn't fold with ease. (the buttons on the side that attaches to this canopy keeps detaching from the chassis every time I fold up the stroller). The tires are dingy. Apparently, it's also too large for air travel (if that's what you're considering). The universal car seat strap that came along with the stroller would not buckle with the stroller's harness. I called Peg Perego about it and the rep, who was rather vague and unfriendly, told me I'd receive a "universal car seat strap." Conclusion: I'm on a tight budget (hence why I bought this), so was looking for a complete stroller. But then I realized that I'm not out there to battle Mother Nature, so I realized I'm probably better off with a Maclaren for its light weight. I haven't used it yet, in hopes that I can sell it off to someone else so that I can use this money to buy a Maclaren. If not, I'll eventually use ti.
