Description
Item # SCF653-23

Natural medium-flow nipples are designed to help babies feed from both the breast and the bottle. The nipple's wide shape is similar to the shape of a breast, and its soft, rounded nipple encourages the same peristaltic movements used to breastfeed. Twin anti-colic valves keep air in the bottle and out of babies' tummies, making feeding and digesting more comfortable and reducing colic. The nipple is made of soft, durable silicone and has a petal design that prevents it from collapsing while your baby feeds.

Durable, flexible and soft!
May 7, 2019
Thanks to WeeSpring parent panel we were able to try out these nipples as we keep searching for one our 7 month old will take. So far we are pretty happy with them, but our little guy still hasn't quite got the hang of it. Having a variety of different nipples to try has been awesome though, and we are sure that with a little practice he will get it! We tried these Avent nipples in slow flow 2, they are very well constructed, flexible and soft. Our baby seems to like the shape of these more than others, so being a exclusive breast feeder, I say that's a plus!

Nipples Collapse
February 17, 2019
I purchased four of the #2 and two #3 replacement nipples for our bottles. All new nipples collapse when my daughter tries to extract the formula from the bottle. The original natural nipples did not do this before. Also, the flow of the #3 nipples is slower than the #2. I believe these should be recalled.

Bottles leak very bad drowning my newborn. I'm so not happy! Every couple sips I have to take it out to wipe her mouth and she gets so irritated!

Leaks
August 15, 2018
We received a gift set with 4oz and 9oz bottles for my baby shower with I guess older nipples and I loved them. My baby took to them without and issue and NO Leaks! So I did not hesitate to buy a three pack of the Natural bottles. I noticed the nipples were different. I just thought 'new and improved' I was so wrong. They leak all over. It seems that they don't seal properly no matter how perfect you think you have the nipple on and secure the top to the bottle. We were very disappointed.

Baby rejects new design
July 26, 2018
Why change a good thing? It would have been nice if you had continued to sell the old style and just added another design -- my 8mo old rejected the new nipples, so now I'm stuck with some worn out nipples and some that she won't use. I'm so angry that your company would make a change like this that is making the lives of many parents more complicated.

New design does not work as well
June 22, 2018
Our daughter has only used Philips Avent bottles & nipples since she was born, and we had been very happy with them until the design change to the natural flow with the softer nipple. She won't use this, I think because it collapses to easily and is less sturdy than the ones she is used to. We are very disappointed in the redesign and unable to find the older style we liked so much.

Hate New Design!!!!
May 23, 2018
My 8 month old had been using Avent Natural bottles since she was 3 weeks old and she never had a problem with them. She was using a level 0 nipple up until a month ago because I stopped breastfeeding. Then we went up to a level 1 and now she is at a level 2. I went out to buy some more level 2 nipples, so I don't have to keep washing the only two level 2 nipples that I own. I went to Walmart and the only ones that they had were the NEW DESIGNED nipples. So I bought two packs of them. Stupid me opened both packs, sterilized them, and then washed them. Went to give her a bottle and she took a sip and then spit the nipple out with her tongue. She absolutely refuses to drink from the new nipples. She refused her 5pm bottle from my husband because she wouldn't drink from the newer nipple and he didn't understand why. I didn't understand why so I tried both to see if there was any difference and the new design has a rough texture compared to the other design where it was smooth. It really aggravates me that I spent the money on these and now it's pretty much garbage. Why did you have to redesign the other nipple? There wasn't anything wrong with it. Why fix something that isn't broke? Now I'm having a horrible time trying to find the older design nipple. Grrr...

New designs are not always better!
May 1, 2018
Newer is not always better!! We have a couple of Classic bottles but most of them are the Natural that requires these nipples. I've been a fan of Avent bottles with both of my children. The natural nipples (0 & 1) sizes worked very well so I didn't hesitate to buy the next size up #3. However they leak constantly and I cannot even feed my baby without a ton of leakage let alone even try to shake up the formula. As it is now I am afraid to put them in the diaper bag as they leak so much...

Disappointed with new design
April 30, 2018
We have been very happy with the Avent natural bottles since our preemie was born. Last month, we started using a size 2 nipple and the nipples that came with our larger bottles are exactly like the size 0 and 1 nipples we have used with no issues. We bought additional size 2 nipples with a new design--they seem more flexible, have one vent instead of two and have a swirl pattern in the tip of the nipple. They are TERRIBLE and leak everywhere. If we cannot find nipples that do not leak, this will essentially render our rather pricey and extensive set of bottles useless.

If you buy new bottles/nipples and get a stream, read this
April 7, 2018
Bought size 1s, worked great. Moved up to 2, the nipples let out a stream of formula, like squeezing a ketchup bottle, rather then two drops shown on the label and similar to the one drop the 1s released. Not sure if due to new swirl redesign or manufacturing issue but seems to be occuring to recently bought bottles. Anyway, a blog I read said it can be due to heat or pressure buildup after warming a bottle, so loosen cap on bottle, retighten then try turning upside down again. I may have tried to use them too quickly after sterilization or warming. So give it time and hopefully the nipples should return to normal flow, mine did. However I'm making sure to check flow rate w temp at each feeding, just to be careful.

Baby Tested, Mom Approved!

A simple to clean nipple that is shaped for easy attaching by babies! The uniquely designed tip helps formula or breast-milk flow at the right pace without leaking and air bubbles! This is the only nipple my baby will use, and I love that feedings are not a battle or worry! Thank you to WeeSpring for sending me these nipples to try out---my well fed baby is grateful too!

Philips Avent Natural Slow Flow
February 5, 2018
Since my daughter is basically exclusively breastfed, I was worried how she's take a bottle. She did great with the Philips Avent bottle. We used the slow flow nipple and she did very well with it. Perfect flow for her. She latches well, fed well and didn't seem to catch a lot of air either. I recommend these nipples for your infant, including mostly breast fed babies, I think they can transition well.
I'd like to thank weeSpring Parent Panel for the opportunity to try this product.

Great for my breastfed baby
January 23, 2018
My daughter has mostly been breastfed but the few occasions where she has gotten a bottle she's been frustrated by the slow flow and feeling of the nipple. These nipples seemed to satisfy my picky little girl. She didn't balk at the texture or shape and immediately drank her bottle in a quick fashion. I assumed she'd suffer some sort of distress with how quickly she drank her bottle (hello gas!!) but these nipples did not let her suck in a lot of air. Honestly I'm pretty impressed, that my little girl was so quickly satisfied and did not suffer the usual gas bubbles she's gotten from other brand nipples.

I appreciate the shape of this nipple and that Avent is trying to help us breastfeeding mommas not suffer from nipple confusion. While my daughter certainly knows the difference and still protests when given a bottle, once she latched she was happy enough to keep eating and I was able to not worry about whether she'd eat while I was gone.

I received this product to test as a member of the weeSpring Parent Panel.

Nipple flow too fast for breastfed baby
January 21, 2018
I was given this bottle nipple to try as part of the weeSpring Parent Panel. We also received the Philips Avent Infant Starter Bottle Set as part of the weeSpring Parent Panel. My Son began to refuse to take bottles around 4 months of age and was only being breastfed when we received the bottle set and bottle nipple. It was super helpful to have a variety of nipple choices to try with our son, because despite his age the medium nipple flow was too fast for him. However, we were ecstatic when our son took breastmilk from the Phillips Avent Bottle with the Philips Avent Natural Slow Flow Nipple. He is currently 5 months and still using the Slow Flow Nipple. Although, I am happy to have the Medium Flow Nipple for him to grow into. Thank you to weeSpring Parent Panel for sending me this Philips Avent natural medium flow nipple to try and review.

Great product!
January 20, 2018
I have tried multiple bottles and nipples. I found the Philips Avent Natural Fast Flow Nipple to be one of the better ones. It has a great design and doesn't collapse. Not only is the flow perfect for my 11 month old son but it is also easy to clean. In addition, my son took to the nipple with no issues.

As an added bonus, the bottle is wonderful too. I found it easy to assemble/clean and I really enjoy the wide opening on the bottle as it makes it easier to add formula or liquids. Thanks to the weeSpring Parent Panel for providing me with this bottle nipple.

A good redesign
January 20, 2018
We received these as a sample from the weespring parent panel. The nipples were easy to place in the bottle and did not leak as I have had some nipples do in the past. I like the new design and extra softness. It can be helpful to have different nipples at different times for feeding needs, like dreamy sleep feeds versus hungry morning feeds. However as the very tired parent I find that I always just grab the closest ones on hand. With that said these nipples were easily accepted by my little one who is also breasted. I did not notice a real difference in terms of gas but since she is getting breast milk her gassiness is minimal. We used avent for our first child and will likely continue with our second. Our daughter who is almost 4 months old did seem to want the milk to come a bit faster so we will be moving up to the next flow.

Love Avent, wish my baby did!
January 20, 2018
Let me start by saying I LOVE Avent bottles-I always recommend them! It was the only brand of bottles I used with my first son, so I was excited when weeSpring Parent Panel gave me the opportunity to try the newer version with my second son. He is exclusively breastfed and has struggled taking bottles. We have tried a ton of bottles with no luck. Unfortunately, he didn't take this bottle/nipple. However, I was impressed with the bottle and nipple- I find most nipples easily collapse and this one did not. I wish it worked for us and will continue trying, as it has been a struggle getting him to take any bottle. This one is worth a shot!

Best nipple design I have seen
January 19, 2018
Both my husband and I returned to work while I was still breastfeeding, and whether because of nature (she MUST have got this from daddy!) or nurture (we may have waited too long to introduce bottles), our daughter has had a difficult time transitioning to taking a bottle. We tried a number of bottle nipples to try to supplement nursing.

One of the options we tried was the Philips Avent Natural Slow Flow Nipple. She did not immediately accept the nipple; she preferred gumming and playing with it, rather than eating straight away. However, even her nonchalant play provided some milk as the nipple flow continued in a slow drip. I'll be the first to admit there are much more efficient ways of feeding, but it helped get her used to the bottle concept without overwhelming her with an excess stream of milk (she is 4 months old and we used the size 2 nipple).

Compared to the classic Avent nipple or other brands, the Natural Slow Flow Nipples themselves are quite soft to the touch (compared to the traditional rubbery feel) and much more flexible. They also look quite distinctive, with a grooved spiral extending around the tip to help minimize the amount of air the baby is swallowing.

This is our first time trying the Slow Flow Nipples, but we have used Avent bottles and nipples since the birth of our first child. I'm a big fan of the simplicity of the design. The nipples are easy to pop and out of the ring for quick assembly and cleaning and there are no extra accessories - which makes this momma happy when doing the dishes every night!

Overall, we were pleased with the nipples. I only gave the product 4 stars as I was hoping for an easier adjustment period to the bottle due to the nipple design. Thanks to the weeSpring Parent Panel for providing me with this bottle nipple.

Fabulous bottle
January 19, 2018
We love this bottle! My daughter is about 13 months old and has used a couple of different bottles. By far this is the first bottle she has taken to so quickly. I found this bottle very easy to transition my daughter to. I also love the size of these bottles. With my daughter being older the larger capacity means I don't have to refill the bottle as often. The curved middle part of the bottle is a great design feature. It makes the bottle easier for my daughter to grip. The only complaint I have is we had the nipple for 6+ and if she turned the bottle upside down the flow allowed for quite a bit to leak from the bottle. Thanks to the weeSpring Parent Panel for providing me with this bottle nipple

Great nipple!
January 19, 2018
A little about me: I have a 5 month old son and recently started back to work (no luck on the lottery..ugh). I strictly breastfeed so that means lots and lots of pumping at work. My little one gave me problems in the beginning taking a bottle, so that meant lots of traveling back and forth to home during my lunch break (which for me was great to see him but not so great for my co-workers). After many different brands of bottles, he finally let go of his stubbornness and gave in to the idea of a bottle!

Everything was packaged really well when I received the product; no defects at all.

First off, I think it is great to have a variety of nipples ready to go for your little one! Currently mine is still on a slow flow nipple (he seems to get too much and kind of chokes on the milk). I was a little unsure of these nipples. My little one is VERY picky about his nipple styles. He seems to gag a little on the longer ones like most bottles have. So on first use with the medium flow I wasn't expecting too much, but to my surprise he loved them!!! He took it great and drank the whole bottle without any issues! I do think though that if I would have tried these at the very beginning of our bottle journey he would not have liked them, but since he is getting used to bottles now he seems to have no problem with these. My guy never had issues with colic but this would be a great option for any babies since this has an anti-colic vent. These are very easy to clean (especially if you are like me and don't have a dishwasher). I love the shape of this nipple (the wide-base and flexible nipple) and I think this is why my little one took so well to it.

I would definitely buy this as a baby shower gift and recommend this product for all moms to put on there registry! It's a great idea to think ahead and have more flow options ready to guy when your little one is ready for it!

Thanks to the weeSpring Parent Panel for providing me with this bottle nipple!

Great for breastfed babies.
January 19, 2018
I received this product free to test as part of the weeSpring Parent Panel. I used this product with my exclusively breastfed daughter. She took to it amazingly. I love the shape, it makes it easy to transition back and forth between breast and bottle. The flow was comparable to breastfeeding. I didn't notice any issues with collapsing, and the quality is fantastic. I would recommend these to anyone who is breastfeeding as well as bottle feeding to avoid nipple confusion.

I was given this bottle nipple to try as part of the weeSpring Parent Panel.  My 9mo old baby had no difficulty with the Phillips Advent Bottle and fast flow nipples. My baby never had an issue with being colicky, so I can't judge as to if it would help prevent colic. There is venting on the bottle nipple near the edge where the plastic ring is located. The venting is very small in comparison to others, but I think a bigger plastic piece is easier to tear. I think the spot works well because it is not in the way.

The lids to the bottle stay on well, but have an indentation that when pressed allows for the lid to come off easily. It works so well I was able to do it one handed and I do have difficulty sometimes due to joint pain. The bottle holds 11 oz which is a good amount if you need it. I don't use formula, but I would imagine you could preload the formula and then have plenty of room to add the water and shake to mix. I think my favorite feature is the case that hold the nipples. I haven't seen this feature on other bottles, so I end up buying a storage container or use plastic baggies. The bottle circumference is also a nice size as it fits easily in your hand. I think the size would also make it easy for a baby to hold their own bottle when it reaches that skill level.

I received some of these fast flow bottle nipples from the weeSpring parent panel.
I love the Phillips Avent line. My son has never had any problems with them. They are well constructed and easy to use. Also easy to clean. BUT, I would caution the use of fast flow (4) nipples with breastfed babies as the flow is often too fast for them. My 14mo son had some difficulty keeping up with it, but he still had no other problems.

Perfect for hungry growing baby boy

I received this product free from weeSpring parent panel.

I watch my 8 month old grandson Monday thru Friday so I had ample time to try this product. He had been using the same nipple in slow flow so this wasn't a big change for him. He was easier to satisfy with the fast flow nipple. Since he's an older baby now, he wants more milk at once. This nipple was perfect for him.

New converts!
January 19, 2018
I had tried many bottles for my daughter to use while in daycare and we had settled on one but it wasn't her favorite. She had started to not finish her bottle and was leaving up to an ounce and a half of milk in them. When we tried the Avent bottles with the Natural Nipple she really took quite well to them. She is 11 months and the flow rate of the nipple was perfect for her and she was actually finishing her milk and we have had to increase the amount of milk as well! She also will burp so much better and quicker with the Avent bottles and nipples versus her old ones. It has really made a difference in her feeding and we have happily converted! Thank you so much to the weeSpring Parent Panel for sending me the Avent bottles and fast flow nipples to try and review.

Great for nursing to bottle fed babies
January 19, 2018
I received this bottle nipple to try as part of the weeSpring Parent Panel. As a mom who had to go through four to five different nipples when we started bottle training, I was excited to give this one a try. I like the petal and ridge design which helps to prevent nipple collapse since that was a problem we had with a number of the nipples we tried previously. So far, we haven't had any problems with this one. Additionally, the shape of the nipple is very natural looking and we did not notice any nipple confusion or resistance to the bottle with our ten month old. The nipple is soft, flexible, and odorless. It is also easy to assemble and clean which any mama (or dad, caregiver, etc) can appreciate. The only downside is that our baby tends to be an aggressive feeder and the fast flow might be a little too fast for her. I would recommend this nipple to friends and family.

Good nipple for baby who was refusing bottle
January 19, 2018
I was gifted this as part of the WeeSpring Parent Panel. Prior to trying this nipple, my 3 mo had used a couple other brand bottles but then started refusing them. He actually tolerated this one, drinking an ounce or two calmly, but hasn't taken a whole bottle with it yet. He doesn't go to daycare, so this isn't a big issue for us, but it's nice to know he will drink a little if I am not with him to breastfeed. I have a strong let down, so we went straight to this nipple instead of try the Stage 1 nipple and it seemed to work well. It's possible he would drink more if we tried other flow rates, but have not done so yet. The nipple has a nice shape, with soft material and a little bit of texture on the nipple to make it easier to latch. It's also very easy to clean without a bunch of extra parts.

Philips Avent Natural Medium Flow Nipple
January 19, 2018
I first tried the medium flow nipple since that is the size I use on the other brand of bottles. My breastmilk also comes out very fast fast so I thought this would be the right size. But the medium flow was way too fast for my 5 month old. Milk sprayed everywhere as he struggled to keep up. Once I changed out the nipple size to the slow flow nipples, he took RIGHT to the bottle and seemed very happy.
I'm happy to have the medium flow on hand for my son to grow into!

I received these free products from the weeSpring Parent Panel. Opinions are my own.

Best for young babies
January 19, 2018
My exclusively breastfed 4 month old is very picky when it comes to bottles. We've tried several bottles and nipples and have had a hard time finding a winning combination. We did find that she preferred nipples with a wider base like the Avent Slow Flow.

We've had mixed results with the Avent nipples. I think the slow flow was a bit to slow for my baby at 4 months. We also tried the size 2 medium flow. The size 2 was definitely a more successful feed but she has been really inconsistent when offered the Avent bottles. I'm wondering if we need to try the next flow option to see if that flow rate would work better for her. She seems to latch fine but becomes disinterested in the bottle pretty quickly.

In terms of colic or gas, I did not notice a difference between the Avent slow flow nipple, other nipples and breastfeeding.

Thank you to weeSpring Parent Panel for sending me this nipple to try and review.

Works well

I got these nipples just in time. My 4 month old only gets a bottle once a day, so I was a little late on the boat for an upgrade in nipple flow rate. He adjusted to the slow flow nipple well and his gas did not seem to increase.
The nipple does invert when it is toward the end of the 9 oz bottles. My boy adjusted and learned to drink from them while they were inverted.
I was so grateful that I received these nipples from weespring Parent Panel.

nice quality slow flow nipple
January 18, 2018
I was given this product to try as part of the weeSpring Parent Panel. My baby drinks WAY too fast from both breast and bottle, even when using paced bottle feeding. She is 4mo old and took to this nipple well after having previously tried several other Avent flow speeds. It is dishwasher friendly and fits all my Avent bottles. This slow flow nipple seemed to help her slow down without frustrating her, but she still is drinking too fast and gets milk all over her chin. So the nipple has seemed helpful but has not solved my problem the way I hoped it would (though perhaps that was an unrealistic expectation).

We were not quite ready
January 17, 2018
I'm a first time mom of a sweet almost 5 month old girl. My daughter is fed from the breast about 80% of the time. She really only gets bottle fed when I'm working or when it seems like she needs another ounce or two before bed. When we first introduced a bottle it was with a preemie nipple so as to prevent her from having a preference for the bottle over the breast. We have recently introduced the size 1 nipples from Avent and she did fabulously with them. We couldn't really tell a difference between them and the preemie nipples except that she did finish her bottle a little quicker. She didn't have any gas or spit-up issues after using these nipples. Since we did so well with the size 1 nipples we thought we would give the size 2 a try and then the 3 since she is within the age range and wanted to see how she would handle it. We didn't make it past the size 2 nipple. She seemed very overwhelmed by the flow of this nipple and we had to switch back to the size 1 nipple. Overall, I think it's super helpful to have a variety of nipple choices for baby as they develop. Unfortunately, we just aren't quite ready to move to a faster flow. Thank you to weeSpring Parent Panel for sending me this Philips Avent natural medium flow nipple to try and review.

Great option, but I'll stick with a lower flow nipple
January 17, 2018
I received this product as part of the weeSpring Parent Panel. My daughter is an eager eater - she's yet to turn down a nipple (bottle, breast, or pacifier), and she took to this nipple just fine too! That being said, I have heard that it's best to stick with lower-flow nipples for breastfed babies, so they continue to "work for it." My daughter is currently 4 months old and she is becoming more efficient at feedings, but I could see her preferring a bottle if she can get her food even faster. Since I prefer to breastfeed (over bottle feeding), I'll stick with a lower flow nipple.

Great soft nipple, ready for an eager eater!
January 17, 2018
We are a mixed breastfeeding/bottle feeding household, so it's been a huge concern that whatever bottles/nipples we use for our little 4 month old won't lead to any nipple confusion or bottle battles and there are so many options available today! These nipples are an ultra soft and flexible silicone and my little one latched right on the first time with no problem, better than with our usual bottles even! I was concerned that since she was used to a flatter bottle nipple she would struggle but she did great with the round natural nipple. They are super easy to put into the lid and snap into place so you know they are sealed and won't leak. They have an anti-colic system built in which means no extra parts to clean and no gassy baby! Our only issues with these nipples were our little poky eater just wasn't quite ready for the faster flow yet and when she'd get to the bottom of her bottle, the nipple would get pinched off since she's an upright feeder. These will be great as she starts to eat faster - thanks weeSpring Parent Panel for providing me with this bottle nipple!

No complaints from me or my baby

I received this product from the weeSpring Parent Panel. It's easy to clean and appears well made. The bottle that it comes with is easy to hold. My baby never had any issues with it.

Mom and baby approved!

My son is exclusively breastfed, so we needed a nipple that he would take to easily when I returned to my full-time job. We had tried other nipples, but were not satisfied due to collapsing nipples, leaks, or nipple flow. We were so pleased when we tried these nipples from Philips Avent. My son took to them immediately. He has no issues switching between breast and bottle. The soft breast shaped nipple is like the real thing. We are currently using the size one nipples and the size two nipples will be helpful as he grows. We have also noticed that our son has been spitting up less frequently since we started using this nipple. I am so glad that I had the opportunity to review and try these nipples out at no cost as a member of the weeSpring Parent Panel.

Amazing

I breastfeed and I bottle feed breast milk to my baby. A couple of weeks ago introduced the Philips Avent Natural bottles to my baby girl and I fall in love with this bottles as the nipple of the bottle is really soft, smooth and looks exactly as a nipple. Also, didn't confused my baby and help her with comics. I definitely recommend Philips Avent Natural bottles and fast pace nipple to anyone who has a colicky or fuzzy baby and is also breastfeed this is a life saver. Thank you to the weeSpring Parent Panel for providing me with this bottle.

Bottles up!
January 16, 2018
Our 10-month-old EBF kiddo had some gut-wrenching reflux issues early on so we tried a few and found one bottle brand that didn't make him suffer (we did not initially try Philips Avent) and we send those - and only those - to daycare and use them whenever we bottle-feed at home. Since he has one bottle and nipple type he's used to, when I received the Philips Avent Fast Flow Nipple and bottle from the weeSpring Parent Panel we weren't sure how he would take to a different bottle, nipple, and flow rate. Well, we certainly had no reason to worry, and now we have a new set of bottles we can alternate in the rotation!

Pros: The bottles and nipples were easy to clean and dry, bottle has a wide enough opening to pour expressed milk into, and baby could easily hold the full-size bottle and feed himself with no problem. The first time we put one down for him he grabbed for it, picked it up, and started sucking away with no hesitation at all. He's a pretty strong sucker, so he was getting a LOT of milk at once but had no problems with gagging or choking and he it down at a pace he was happy with. Reflux isn't such an issue for him anymore, but we didn't notice any reflux, gas, or tummy-upset after feeding from these bottles/nipples - I can't say they helped but they certainly didn't create any problems for us.

Cons: the flow rate is pretty fast. This was fine for our little guy at 10 months old, but I'm not sure he would have been able to handle so much, so fast, at 6 months old without choking a bit. Second, although the opening is wide, it's way easier to pour thawed milk into our other bottles; formula would probably be fine, but the milk bags can get a little tricky with a hungry baby on-hand. Also (and this is a minor gripe) as he lifted the bottle up to drink from it and put it down, milk kept spraying into his face - I'm guessing because of the bigger holes - and it dripped a bit if he turned the bottle upside-down and sprayed when dropped on the floor. He obviously didn't mind, but I wasn't crazy about the milk mess since our other bottles are pretty impervious to being flung around while he self-feeds.

In general, I will definitely keep using these bottles and nipples and will happily send them into the daycare rotation, especially because I don't have to clean up any possible milk-spray mess! Thanks, weeSpring, for a new feeding option!

Great for my exclusive BF baby!
January 16, 2018
My 4 month old is exclusively breastfed and so the slow flow nipple was very important when introducing a bottle. We tried a few nipples/bottles and found these to be the appropriate flow rate, so he wasn't choking or frustrated! We fortunately haven't struggled with too much gas or colic, so these nipples seem to be doing the trick!

Great product, but too fast!
January 16, 2018
My 4 month old daughter has been using a different bottle brand since she was 5 days old. When we tried Avent, she took really well to the size 1 of these nipples. She latched very easily to the shape and seemed to be happy drinking from them, but the size 2 was just too fast for her as a breastfed baby. She chugged her milk down way too quickly with the size 2 nipples, especially in the morning when she is very hungry after sleeping 11 hours through the night. Our lactation consultant has recommended keeping the bottle flow on the slower side to prevent her from preferring the faster flow from a bottle, so unfortunately, these are definitely too fast. Our daughter has never been colicky (thank goodness!), but she does have gas. These bottles seem to adequately help her with gas. She burps easily, if at all, during her bottle while using these.

She had been on a preemie size 0 nipple from another bottle brand, but those had so many parts and were a pain to clean. The wide design of these nipples and fewer parts for the bottles is much easier for us to keep clean. I do wish you could choose the size of the nipple when picking the size of the bottle. The larger 9 oz. bottles come with these size 2 nipples. We need the larger size, but the smaller nipple - meaning I need to purchase 2 different things and the cost is higher.

Thanks to the weeSpring Parent Panel for providing me with this bottle nipple.

Great for transitioning breastfed baby
January 16, 2018
I was recently able to test out a set of Philips Avent Natural Fast Flow Nipples/bottles thanks to the weeSpring Parent Panel. My first impressions were that the bottle nipples are shaped similar to a breast, making it an easy transition for breastfed babies, and there are few parts, making it easy to assemble/disassembled and clean. My son just turned one year old and has never been a fan of bottles, he has been breastfed and we were hoping to find a bottle he liked to start him on whole milk. He seems to be taking to these ones pretty well, as opposed to other brands that we've tried before. I believe it's due to the shape and feel of the nipple. He also has no problem holding the bottle himself. The flow is great as well for his age. I'm happy because we have a winner and they are super easy to clean with a regular bottle brush. I would highly recommend these to everyone, especially those looking for a bottle for a baby who is used to breastfeeding.

Great to have options
January 16, 2018
My son has been on a slow flow nipple his whole life so he spluttered a bit with this fast flow nipple. Given more time, I feel that he may have been able to get used to it and like it, but he's 12 months now and is transitioning to a sippy cup. It is great to have options out there for other babes who prefer fast flow! Thanks to the weeSpring Parent Panel for letting us try these!
