The Philips AVENT Comfort Manual Breast Pump has a unique design that enables a more relaxing and comfortable expressing position for easier milk flow. This BPA free manual pump is great for moms who want to pump either at home or on the go. It features a soft, textured massage cushion to help gently stimulate milk flow, an ergonomic handle you can operate with one hand, and a lightweight, compact design.
  • Allows you to sit comfortably upright while you pump
  • Soft, textured massage cushion helps stimulate milk flow
  • Ergonomic handle for easy one-handed operation
  • Includes new Natural bottle with Natural nipple
  • Compatible with both Natural and Classic AVENT bottles
Sit Comfortably Upright While You Pump

Unlike breast pumps that only operate properly when you lean forward, the Philips AVENT Comfort Manual Breast Pump allows you to sit comfortably upright as you pump. The breast pump's angled neck lets milk flow naturally from breast to bottle while you relax. And when you're able to relax it has a positive effect on your milk flow and quantity produced.

Massage Cushion Stimulates Milk Flow

The pump features a soft cushion with five textured petals intended to gently help stimulate milk flow. The cushion mimics your baby's natural suckling patterns to stimulate milk flow and make pumping more comfortable.

This cushion fits a majority of moms, but a large cushion is sold separately.

Includes New Natural Bottle and Natural Nipple

To help prevent wasted milk, the collection container that connects to the pump also works as a bottle with the included natural, breast-shaped nipple. This nipple makes transitioning between breast and bottle easier for your baby by encouraging comfortable latch-on.

Ergonomic Handle and Other User-Friendly Features

The breast pump has an uncomplicated design with only a few parts that are easily assembled and an ergonomic handle for comfortable positioning and operation with one hand. When it's time for cleanup, all parts can be washed in the dishwasher.

The pump's compact size makes it ideal for storage and discreet use. It can be sanitized using a Philips AVENT steam sterilizer or by boiling in water for five minutes.

Continue Breastfeeding, Even On the Go

The Philips AVENT Comfort Manual Breast Pump is compatible with other Philips AVENT products, including Natural and Classic bottles and milk storage containers, which means you can pump whenever and wherever and save milk for later use.

Design pros and cons
June 30, 2018
I bought this to pump in the morning before going to work.

Few things I love about the design:
The distance between the neck of the breastshield to the huge hole that houses the duckbill is so short that milk doesn't have to travel a long tunnel to get to the duckbill, which means more milk is actually going down to the bottle. I like the cushion it's comfortable and when you're done and there's milk on it, you can easily fold it and the milk will just slide down to the bottle. Previously in other pumps I would need to tilt the bottle to save that last drop, but ends up spilling some milk. I also like the design of the duckbill. This whole thing is an easy clean.

Few things i don't like:
It's not quiet at all. The rubber is so squeaky that i have to pump in the bathroom to avoid waking up my baby. Since the neck is so short like mentioned above, the huge thing that the rubber attaches to obstructs my view to see how well I'm pumping and the jets I'm making. My hand cramps and get a stiff neck in the process.

Overall I like the pump but consider redesigning the pump part that attaches to the whole mechanism. Make it quieter like the Medela manual pump and I'll buy again.

I found this item very disappointing. I ended up buying an electric pump as I just couldn't get milk flowing with this hand pump. Not worth the money I paid.

Comfortable and easy
May 15, 2018
I was very happy to receive this hand pump as I needed something quick on the go and just in case I was without my huge electric pump.
I think ease of use is a definite plus and comfort as well, but it just didn't work as well as my hospital grade electric pump.
So definitely not a substitute but very handy in a pinch.
Easy to take apart/put together and wash too!!
I did receive this product in exchange for a review from weeSpring Parent Panel

Great on-the-go-pump option
May 15, 2018
This pump was my go to when I was on the go whether that be during the day or in the evening. I brought this when I didn't know if I was going to make it back home to nurse/pump. I have used it in the car and as long as you have a loose shirt, this can fit underneath. This is comfortable fitting hand pump, though it can be tiring to pump with your hands. The bottle fit nicely and I didn't have any leakage. I gave it 4/5 stars because there are so many parts to this. So, after I took it apart to clean, it took some time to put it back together. (keep the manual!) Otherwise, this is a smart option for on the go moms!

Great hand pump!
May 14, 2018
This pump has been a great. I prefer hand pumps because I typically don't pump often and it's a much quicker process than hooking up to an electric pump. The fit is comfortable on the nipple and the suction is really productive. It is quite smaller than my other hand pump but I don't notice that making any significant difference. One thing I noticed over time was the pumping motion gets squeaky. It's very easy to take apart completely for washing! One thing I would change would be an adapter of some sort to hook up different/smaller neck bottles. But that's not a deal breaker!

I received this product from weeSpring Parent Panel for free in return for my honest opinion.

Poor output for me
May 14, 2018
I have used several different electric pumps and one other manual pump. I have never had great output with any of them, but this model actually collected less milk than the others. I like the design and ease of cleaning, storing, reassembling... it just doesn't work for me so I wouldn't be able to recommend it to others. I was given this to try as part of the weeSpring Parent Panel.

Easy to use, convenient breast pump
May 2, 2018
I received this item at no cost from WeeSpring Parent Panel in trade for an honest review. I had only used an electric breast pump because I didn't see myself using a manual. It worked better than I expected and was comfortable to use. It is easy to take apart and clean and to but back together. It is great to have on hand if we are out for long periods of time and I need to pump but don't want to haul around my big electric one. My hand does get tired after using it for a bit so that is the only negative but that is going to happen with any manual breast pump if you're not used to using one. I would recommend this to my friends/family due to its portability and ease of use.

Easy to use and clean
April 21, 2018
This pump was easy to use and set up initially. The directions and pictures included were clear and easy to follow. The pump is comfortable and the flange part of the pump is a soft, flexible plastic versus the typical hard plastic found with some other pumps.
What I especially appreciated was how easy it was to clean. I was able to get to all areas of the pump to clean thoroughly, unlike my electric pump, where milk remnants remain despite furious cleaning and sanitizing.
The only negative I have regarding this pump is the awkward hand hold/placement. I wasn't really sure if i should hold it at the neck of the pump or around the bottle. One time while holding around the bottle, the bottle actually unscrewed which could have resulted in a mess, not to mention lost milk.
I do appreciate the inclusion of the natural bottle. My daughter loves these bottles and prefers them over any other I've tried! Overall I am satisfied with this pump and will continue to buy Philips products in the future!
I received this product free of charge from the WeeSpring Parent Panel in return for my feedback.

Highly recommend
April 21, 2018
I received this product from the weeSpring Parent Panel at no cost for an honest review. I highly recommend this pump. I have an electric but this is great to have in hand. I've had to use on multiple occasions and it's saved me in a pinch. I keep it in my pumping bag that I take to work and on those days where I forget a piece I don't have to stress. I know I have this as a back up. I've also used when I stood up in a wedding and had a busy day ahead of me and wasn't sure if I would have access to an outlet. It also works great and isn't huge or bulky. I like the soft cups that go on the shields. Suction is great and I always get at least one bottle worth (4oz). There aren't any small pieces to lose and it's easy to clean. I just do it by hand since there aren't a bunch of pieces. Includes a lid for the bottle for easy storage and even includes a cap for the shield so milk doesn't leak off of it. My only complaint (and I don't know if there is a way around it) is that it's kind of loud to use. One of the pieces is kind of squeaky but definitely not a deal breaker for me. My little girl also likes the natural nipple this set came with.

Decent pump
April 20, 2018
I was given this pump as part of the weeSpring parent panel. I found it easy to use and clean, although there are quite a few pieces to it. I appreciate that it comes with a cover for the shield. I typically use a different manual pump and this is similar overall in use, but not so much better that I'd switch. My daughter stopped taking bottles shortly after receiving this so I rarely pump anyways, but it's a decent pump.

Super comfortable and easy to use
April 20, 2018
I received this pump as part of the weeSpring Parent Panel. It was super easy to assemble and also take apart, which is a plus for me. The cleaning instructions are easy to follow and hardly take much time for me. Now, when using the pump, I find that it fits comfortably on my breast, especially with the pad. I have used it on and off and it hardly takes me any time to pump both sides. The handle is easy to grip and you don't feel like your hand gets tired from it. So far, I've only used it at home but with the warmer weather coming up we'll be traveling and I look forward to bringing it along with me since it won't take up much space in my bag.

This product isn't for everyday
April 20, 2018
I received a Philips avent manual breast pump, and a set of avent glass bottles for free to test and review from the weeSpring parent panel. The pump was much easier to clean than the electric pump I'm used to. Not as many small parts, and I didn't need a special brush to get into tight portions of the device, just a regular bottle brush. This pump was alright to use in the beginning, but became tiring to squeeze the handle to get enough milk to fill a bottle. The glass bottles are great! I love using glass opposed to plastic. The glass seems durable for regular use. I would recommend the glass bottles, however I would suggest an electric pump for regular use.

Great manual pump
April 19, 2018
Sometimes you've got enough going on that you can't sit tethered to your electric pump for 15 minutes. Or maybe your sweet child just FINALLY went down for a morning nap, but your right breast is still uncomfortably engorged. Or maybe you'll be away from your baby for most of the day, and lugging your electric pump along with you just sounds like a headache, but you don't want to mess up your supply.
Phillips Avent manual breast pump to the rescue!
I was given this product to try as part of the weeSpring Parent Panel. I've used other manual breast pumps before, and I really appreciate a few of aspects of this one's design. There's a soft cushion layer that can be installed on the hard plastic breast flange - it provided a nice fit and increased my comfort level for sure. It made for one more part to clean, but overall a win.
The mechanism design of the pump was very easy to take apart and clean. No hidden internal crevices that were impossible to reach (or see!). Assembly was also very easy.
Finally, the whole thing sits very stable on a counter, thanks to its short and squat stature, so I wasn't ever worried about it toppling over and spilling any drops of precious milk.
I'm giving this 4 stars instead of 5 because of a couple minor gripes. The handle position is fixed, and that didn't always yield a comfortable grip for me. Also, the pump assembly does still have lots of parts to clean and sanitize (as they all do!). Final gripe is that the bottle felt tight on the pump sometimes, but after pumping for a few minutes it felt very loose. It made me a little nervous that the bottle might drop off and spill everywhere, so I consciously re-tightened it a lot. I'm not sure why this was happening.
Oh let's not forget the bottle and nipple that come with this package! My son isn't too picky about bottles, but he LOVED the Avent bottle. The simple venting design made for uninterrupted gulping of the whole 5oz!

Better than most
April 19, 2018
I liked the ease of using this manual pump. The number of parts was minimal and the cushion helped express milk. The best part about the pump was how easy it is to put together and I was able to take this pump on the go and it fit in my purse. I wish the product came with a cap to seal in the expressed milk once I pumped while being out. This bottle also is a favorite, my baby likes the size and shape of this nipple and switch between breast and bottle no problem. I used this pump about 1-2 times a week for about 4 months while I was breast feeding.

Easy and Convenient
April 18, 2018
I was given this to try as part of the weeSpring Parent Panel and I really enjoyed using this pump. It's very convenient and portable. I like to use it while I am at home and I like that I can walk around if I need to and I'm not strapped to an outlet. I don't like how loud it can be. The handle squeaks about 50% of the time so I wouldn't be comfortable using this in public as it wouldn't be very discreet. I work full time and I pump while I am at work 3 times during the day so I still use my electric pump so that I can have my hands free but the manual pump is so much more efficient. I can pump the same amount of milk in half of the time. The pump has a very soft silicone guard which is very comfortable when using and makes it nice for any size. The pump is also very wide so it is super easy to clean. I can actually fit my sponge all the way through so I know that I am cleaning every corner. The pump also comes with a bottle however we didn't use it much. My son is 8 mo so the flow was too slow for his liking. Also, the bottle that it comes with to pump into is only 4 oz so if I am pumping more than 4 oz I have to pour it into a second container to continue pumping. I wish it came with the larger bottle instead of having to but additional pieces. Overall I enjoyed using this pump and like the accessibility of it.

Good and Discreet Pump
April 18, 2018
I really like the size of the pump and I feel like the suction was good. It may be due to my letdown but i was able to pump 3-4 ounces in under 10 minutes. It's a little difficult to clean because you have to take out the suction part and it's hard to put back. I felt like after the first few cleanings I started to get a weird sound while pumping (probably because I wasn't able to put the suction back on correctly) but overall it gets the job done. I like the size.. really is to fit under shirt and pump if necessary . I received the product from the weeSpring Parent Panel

Quick and efficient
April 18, 2018
I had never used a hand pump before, as I had been pretty happy using automatic pumps. So when I received the Philips Avent Manual Breast Pump as a part of the weeSpring Parent Panel, I wasn't expecting to like it. And I was right. I didn't like it...I LOVE IT! The best thing about this pump is the speed. With a toddler and a baby, I am always on the go. With this pump, I could quickly and efficiently pump enough for an outing without al the complicated setup needed with an electric pump. And since I was already using Philips Avent bottles, all I had to do with unscrew the pump and screw on a nipple, and the bottle was ready to go!

Suction Isn't Strong Enough
April 18, 2018
I received this product as part of the weeSpring Parent Panel. The pump was easy to assembly and clean after each use. It was great in the pinch, although I was disappointed with the suction. I have used competitor pumps that allowed for multiple levels of suction designed for let down and expression. Unfortunately, the Avent model only allows for one level of suction, which I found to not be strong enough. This left me feeling like I was not getting the relief that I was seeking. The silicone cushion was a welcomed featured that allowed for comfortability. Overall, the level the suction would come down to personal preference, but it just wasn't the right fit for me and what I needed out of a manual pump.

good for on the go
April 18, 2018
I was skeptical about this pump before i got it because i've never tried one before. This pump will be so awesome to have for traveling, road trips, and on the go-- just because it's so much smaller and easier to pack than my bulky electric pump. It's also nice that i won't have to have an outlet or electric source to use it. This pump definitely made it more discreet to pump, and the "set-up" was a lot quicker than my electric pump. It was also pretty comfortable to use, maybe a little too comfortable though. I wish the suction was a more powerful, but it's nice in a pinch! Clean up was a breeze, less parts to clean = a great thing! These natural bottle with the wide nipples are definitely the way to go if you want to switch between breast feeding and bottle feeding. The narrow, taller nips tend to confuse babies when you switch between the two. My son had no issue latching after using this bottle when i was at work. All around a good product to have on hand! Thanks to weeSpring Parent Panel for sending me this gift, this on-the-go mama, will definitely be using this in the future!

Comfortable manual pump
April 17, 2018
I received the Philips Avent Manual Breast Pump from the weeSpring Parent Panel in exchange for my honest review. I have used the pump occasionly for almost 4 months, originally to empty the opposite breast I am feeding from or to finish emptying when my little one was done and now at work as a backup if I forget my electric pump. Although there are several parts to the pump (and the first time I put it back together it really took some thought), overall it's very easy to clean and assemble.
Comfort wise it was much more natural feeling than the hard plastic flanges that come standard with electric pumps, although there is definitely more effort given you have to pump it yourself. I personally had a bit of an issue stimulating letdown with the pump when I used it alone but if baby was feeding I had no problem at all. I loved that I was able to pump directly into the Avent Natural Bottle and store for later use by popping a top on the bottle instead of having to pour into a bottle after pumping. I also have to give high praise to the natural bottle as once he started teething my 8 month old was refusing his bottles at daycare because the harder nipples he had been using bothered his sore gums; switching to the Natural Bottle and accompanying nipple solved the problem.
Pros: Easy to assemble (after the first time), parts are easy to clean, pump directly into bottles. The flange is nicely cushioned to make pumping as comfortable as possible.
Cons: Unlike the flange the pump handle has zero cushion. I couldn't easily stimulate letdown.

Highly recommend- quick and easy
April 17, 2018
I was given this to try as part of the weeSpring Parent Panel just as I was returning to work from maternity leave. As a working mom who travels throughout the day, this makes pumping easier since I don't have to set up shop with my Spectra and mess with putting on a handsfree bra and all that. It is quick, easy, and less parts to clean. I also have an overactive letdown so sometimes I will use it before a feed to help out my LO. I only wish there was a lid for the bottle for storage. I highly recommend this manual pump!

Awesome hand pump!
April 17, 2018
I received this manual pump from the weeSpring Parent Panel and it's a great manual pump. Using a manual pump is an important part of my breastfeeding journey. I would definitely recommend this one. It is very easy to put together, and only has two "small" parts and they aren't very small which is great! The shape makes it very easy to use, even one handed! It's super comfortable on the breast as well. Plus it comes with the avent bottles that my baby loves! They are natural like the breast. It's so easy to clean, or even throw in the dishwasher. It can be used discreetly too like in your car, it's small enough to be discreet like that, which is nice. It's also great to use in the middle of the night if your lucky enough to have a night that baby sleeps too long.

Love this pump!
April 17, 2018
I was sent this Philips Avent Manual Breast Pump by WeeSpring Parent Panel. Before using this pump I had only ever used electric pumps. I absolutely loved this.

The Avent Pump was easy to assemble, use and clean. I thought a manual pump would be tiresome and take a lot of effort. So not true with this pump. At times it even seemed way more effective than my electric pump. It also was a lot less hassle to set up and super easy to take apart to clean. This is my go to in the middle of the night when baby is sleeping through.

I took this manual pump on a vacation to Disneyland just in case. I wasn't looking forward to toting my electric pump in my luggage and worried about it getting broken. The Philips Avent Pump takes up very little space and did not way down my luggage (which was pretty full to begin with). It was also super easy to toss in my day bag for the park and go! So great for travel!

When I first got the pump, I did have to play a bit to make sure I had it positioned comfortably and experiment with how fast or slow I squeezed, but it was a breeze to get the hang off.

Totally recommend this product to others.

Good inexpensive hand pump to keep in your car!
April 17, 2018
I received this version of the pump from the weeSpring Parent Panel but had used an older version in the past. They have definitely improved the pump for the better. It is easier to put together and the seal on the massaging attachment does not leak. The attachment is great especially when you're just starting pumping and need something gentle. I still prefer to use an esthetic pump as a primary pump, but this is great for day trips and keeping inn the car in case you decide to stay late and go pout with some friends and need an extra pumping session! A few things I wasn't a fan of was that the bottle is a bit on the small side to use for relieving both breasts as you would with a hand pump and the diaphragm is not closed off from the milk so you have to clean more parts. Otherwise it's a great inexpensive pump!

Super soft and easy to use.
April 17, 2018
Great manual pump. Easy to assemble and use after cleaning. Loved the suction and it did not hurt one bit. Only thing I didn't like was the size of the bottle it came with because I'm an over producer and the smaller bottles require me to stop dump in a different bottle and continue pumping. I needed to buy additional bottles with more capacity to use seemlessly. Overall I prefer manual vs electric.

I love it!
April 17, 2018
I'm a stay at home mom who doesn't have to pump too often, and I'm really grateful for that. I HATE pulling out my electric pump and being tortured for a few measly ounces. This pump actually allows me to express as much as my big, expensive pump in about the same amount of time. It's small and quiet, and it doesn't feel pinchy like my electric pump. It's easy to put together with just one little part that is sometimes tricky to snap down if you aren't paying close attention.

The Avent Natural bottle was also great. Easy to put together and easy for my breast-fed babe to acclimate to.

Thanks to the Weespring Parent Panel for this awesome product! I received this pump for free, but I'd buy it again if I needed to!

Great pump!
April 17, 2018
I love how comfortable this pump is compared with other manual pumps. The flange cushion makes it easy to pump for several minutes without compression pain on my breast and the handle is comfortable to use. Output is average compared with other brands of manual pumps. I like the bottle quite a bit, but my son was put off by the the nipple shape and barely drank from it. I'd definitely take it with me if I needed to pump and store milk on a business trip or similar. Thanks to the weeSpring Parent Panel for providing me with this pump!

Solid Manual Pump
April 17, 2018
I was given this to try as part of the weeSpring Parent Panel. I typically use an electric pump but keep a manual one on handy for on the go or when I'm too lazy to set up my electric one. This one is pretty easy to clean, which is a big deal, and just as comfortable as other pumps I've used. It's really light weight which makes it easy to store in a purse or bag. I have not used the bottle part with my son, so I can't speak to how that is. This is a solid, quality manual pump that I'd recommend having in your collection for on the go OR if your electric pump fails.

Comfortable Pump
April 17, 2018
I was looking at this product prior to receiving this product from the weeSpring Parent Panel, and I was thrilled when I was able to try it at no cost. The flange is very comfortable and soft. I also enjoyed that the membranes are duck membrane, which is very easy to clean. I am a mom on the move and sometimes we do not have electricity (i.e. sailing on a boat), and this was a great item to have since it was light and small. The only downfall is that you have to use plastic bottles with the manual pump.

Quality product
April 17, 2018
I received the avent manual breast pump from the weespring parent panel in exchange for honest review. I was excited to receive this item as I only had an electric pump and had never used a manual breast pump. I was really curious about how it would work and if they were worth owning at all. I can honestly say this is a very well made item, easy to use and clean and really works just as well as an electric pump. The benefits are it's small size, easy for travel or moms on the go, it's quiet, if you share a room with your baby and need to pump while she sleeps this was helpful. And the set up is quick, if you wake up engorged for example and don't have the energy to get your electric pump all set up this is a great item to reach for! So glad I own one.

Effective in a pinch
April 17, 2018
I really wanted to like this pump. It's compact! It's easy to assemble and disassemble! It has a nifty cushion! However, I just don't love it as much as its competitors. First off, although the pump handle is the right size for my hands (yay!), it's fixed in one position- meaning I can't really adjust my grip, or my position. Pumps are repetitive enough- with this one, you might be forced to hold your hand at an unnatural angle for the entire time. This disqualifies the Avent manual as anything but a backup to my backup's backup. Second, it's not clear which parts are dishwasher safe- and I can see the silicon membrane-things as being both dishwasher-safe and an absolute dishwasher-gunk magnet. And third, the cushion is great in concept. However, in execution, it's just annoying. I thought it would be relatively easy to leave it off- but no, the flange edges are pretty annoyingly sharp.
Pros? Well, it does work. It's just not worth the hassle to use.

Good to have on hand, but not for every day use
April 17, 2018
Thanks to the weeSpring Parent Portal, I was able to try our this Philips Avent manual breast pump. Prior to trying this pump, I had only used an electric pump. Though this pump took a little getting used to, it did get the job done. I would not recommend it for everyday use, but I think it would be good to keep in the car as a backup to when you don't have your electric pump or don't have a way to plug in your electric pump. The nipple shield collects hair very easily, so you definitely want to keep the nipple shield cover on any time you are not using the pump. Overall, this pump is good to have on hand, but I would not recommend using it as your daily pump!

Best manual breast pump
April 17, 2018
I received the philips avent manual breast pump from the weeSpring parent panel and loved it. It was easy to take a part for cleaning and even easier to put back together. The flange was soft against my skin and the suction from the pump didn't hurt like some of the other brands I've tried. Since it's manual, it's quiet and I can pump with my baby laying next to me. I don't have to worry about her waking up from the pump noise.

Decent manual pump

This pump was very easy to take apart, clean and put back together. I loved how it was soft silicone for the flange, it made it so much more comfortable to pump with. The Phillips avent manual breast pump made it so much easier to pump on the down low on one side while feeding my daughter with the other side in a quiet place outdoors. I would use this pump about once a week while out and about. I leave this pump in my diaper bag for emergencies when I'm engorged. The natural bottle was pretty good it was a little difficult to get my picky breastfed daughter to drink from but she still did! I received this manual breast pump at no cost to me from the weespring parent panel!

Great Manual Pump
April 17, 2018
As an exclusive pumper, I was somewhat skeptical that a manual pump would be able to provide me with the same results (in ounces pumped) as my electric breast pump. I was pleasantly surprised by the Avent Manual Breast Pump. I'd had several mom friends recommend this manual pump to me and I was excited that I'd have a chance to try it, thanks to the weeSpring Parent Panel sending it to me to review.

The pump is very easy to assemble/disassemble and the parts are so simple to clean. They definitely take far less time to put together than an electric pump. The design of the pump is ergonomic and very comfortable - almost a perfect fit.

I already use the Avent bottles for my daughter, so it was great to be able to pump directly into the Avent natural bottle and store the milk without having to transfer containers.

I mainly used the product to pump on the go/in the car (when lugging my electric pump was more difficult) and I'm so glad I had that option. I'd recommend this pump for any breastfeeding and/or exclusive pumpers!

Good for relieving pressure
April 16, 2018
I've never used a manual pump before, so I wasn't sure what I was expecting. The pump is great for on the go as it is small and very discrete. It was easy to figure out how to use, no need to read the manual to understand how to put together and take apart to clean. I love the bottles, very sturdy and one of the few my son will somewhat take. This pump was very comfortable to use, no discomfort at all which I wasn't expecting. I wasn't able to get a lot of milk expressed but I feel like this would be a perfect solution for relieving some of the pressure when feeling engorged without having to pull out an electric pump. I wouldn't use this for everyday use but it is very handy for occasional use and on the go. Thank you to weeSpring Parent Panel for sending me this pump and the bottles to try and review!

Didn't know I could love a manual pump
April 16, 2018
Yes, all manual pumps have a carpal tunnel risk. But this one is sooo much better than any I've tried. I used to only use a manual pump in a battery-related emergency, but on the Avent manual pump, suction is so good and it's so comfortable that I've started leaving my beloved electric home on short trips. With this hand pump, I've pumped under a scarf at a concert, in a cab, and even at home (where the double electric would be an easy choice) - that's how much I like this pump.

With some quick squeezes for a few minutes in the beginning, the Avent manual breast pump gives me a great letdown and I can just squeeze slowly after that. I've found silicone liners/cushions on other pumps to have a slightly sticky texture that ended up pinching my skin in use, but the cushion on this pump isn't perfectly smooth, so it won't grab your skin

I've struggled with other manual pumps where the handle doesn't stay straight while you pump - and you're constantly adjusting the angle. Once I get going, I can use this pump with one hand. And my son likes the Avent bottles, so that's a bonus.

It's also really easy to clean - I don't know why no one thought to put the gripper tab on the duck bill valve before - it's so simple.

I've been recommending the Phillips Avent manual breast pump to all my pregnant friends. I was given this to try as part of the weeSpring Parent Panel.

Easy to use, great alternative
April 16, 2018
I received the Philips Avent Manual Breast Pump from the WeeSpring Parent Panel. The Pump was very easy to use, but my hands did get tired after a while. It is a great alternative to an electronic pump. The rubber inside the shield was very comfortable, all the parts are easy to remove and clean properly, and my picky bottle feeder loved the natural bottle.

Perfect for SAHM
April 16, 2018
I received the Phillips Avent Manual Breastpump for my participation in the WeeSpring Parent Panel. I am a stay at home mother of 4, and this pump is perfect for my needs. I mainly use it once a day in order to help build a freezer stash of emergency milk for my seven month old son. It is super easy to put together, with a minimum of parts and expresses milk quickly and comfortably. I am able to pump about 4 oz in about ten minutes. Super easy to slip in an extra pumping session while reading a book with my daughter or watching tv at night, without lugging out a loud, cumbersome electric pump. The design is very streamlined and has a small silhouette, which makes it great for using as a passenger in the car, it's quite discreet. The pump fits with the glass Avent bottle as well as the BPA free plastic bottle that it came with, which is a great bonus! The natural bottle is a great fit for our occasional bottle taker, he is able to transition from the breast to bottle easily, the wide mouth bottle is conducive to this.
Cleaning the pump is fairly easy and straightforward. The pieces all come apart and reassemble easily. I especially appreciate that it dries easily and there aren't little crevices that you can't get to with a scrub brush.

So convenient!
April 16, 2018
I LOVED the Philips Avent Manual Breast Pump. I'm using it with my second child, and I wish I had purchased it with my first. I never thought I would have any use for a manual pump. I used an electric with my first child, and it is fine. The Philips Avent Manual Breast Pump expresses more milk for me than my electric pump in the same amount of time. It is more comfortable to use, and doesn't require an outlet. I can express the milk anywhere! I LOVE the convenience of this pump. It does have more parts that need to be cleaned, but it is worth it. I also loved that I didn't have to lean forward for the milk to flow into the bottle, and that the pump screwed directly onto the bottle. My baby took to the natural bottle that came in this set too. He liked it as much as the bottles he had been using, and went back to the breast just fine!

Thanks to the weeSpring Parent Panel for providing me with this!

Comfortable and easy to use!
April 15, 2018
I'm a first-time mom and I was given this product to try as part of the weeSpring Parent Panel. Prior to trying the Philips Avent Manual Breast Pump, I'd only used the electric pump I obtained through my insurance and I wasn't sure how I'd feel about a manual one. However, it was much easier to use than I expected! The handle is surprisingly comfortable, and it gets good suction with little effort. I was a little nervous my hand would cramp pumping for 15 minutes at a time, but I had no issues at all. It's smaller than I thought it would be - small enough to fit easily in an average sized purse! - which makes it very portable and that was a huge bonus in my book. It also comes with a handy cap to keep the cup clean and sanitary which is a great design feature. And it's much quieter and more discreet than an electric pump, and has fewer pieces so it's easier to clean.

I use this product if I need to pump while I'm out for the day or traveling for work. Just after I received this product I went on a business trip, the first time I'd spent overnight away from my son, and I'm so glad I brought this with me. I had expected to have time and privacy during the day to pump which ended up not being possible after all. By the time I got back to my hotel room, I was very uncomfortable to say the least! I'd brought my regular pump with me and tried using that, but I was unable to express more than a few drops of milk. Then I remembered I had the Philips pump in my bag and decided to see if I had better luck with that. It worked perfectly and I was able to pump successfully!

The one piece of this product I haven't used much is the Natural bottle. While I like the idea of the wider nipple, my son never took to it and for some reason it tends to leak when I put the bottle together. However, that might be more user error than anything. Thanks to the weeSpring Parent Panel for providing me with this product!

Comfortable and high producing pump
April 15, 2018
The silicone petal on the manual breast pump made this product worth its weight in gold in my early post partum phase when my breasts were very tender. The pumps suction was very strong, perhaps more so than I was accustomed to. But, it was very effective at obtaining a large amount of breast milk. I loved that the manual pump was made to work with the electric pump without acquiring any necessary parts. All in all, this is a great manual pump that saves me in a pinch when the batteries in my electric one has died or while I'm on the go with my kiddo.

Works Great/Nice and Compact
April 15, 2018
I was given this to try as part of the weeSpring Parent Panel, and I'm so glad! I had only used one manual pump previously, and it worked just fine, so I never tried anything else. This pump is easy to use, pumps with one hand, and is a smaller, more compact size than my other pump. I LOVE that! It's so much easier to throw in a bag when I'm going out and might need to pump, but won't have my electric with me.

When I went to try it the first time I did have a slight learning curve. I kept losing suction and could not figure out why. After a minute or so of trial and error, I realized that the way I was holding it was slightly flipping the massager cup off the flange. This was causing me to lose the suction. I simply tucked it back on and adjusted my grip. I haven't had that problem since!

The bottle worked great as well. Baby took to it easily and I loved the smooth transition from pump to feeding.

Potentially Useful, Wasn't for Me
April 15, 2018
I received the Philips Avent Manual Breast Pump as part of the weeSpring Parent Panel. The positive feature of the pump is that it's lightweight and easy to clean. It's nice that it connects directly to the bottle to collect the milk. However, the pump was useless to me, as the suction wasn't strong enough to get any milk out. After pumping for 15 minutes+ I still had only a few drops. I'm sure this pump could be useful to other women, but it wasn't for me.

Easy to use and comfortable!
April 15, 2018
The Philips Avent Manual Breastpump is easy to use and easy to clean. The parts are all easy to put together and it is easier to clean than my electric pumps. I was surprised at how comfortable the pump was to use. I love that it comes with a little cover for the flange which made it easy to travel with (though I still stuck it in a plastic bag). This pump really makes traveling with a baby easy. The pump parts are so easy to clean and put back together again. There are less parts to clean, too, which is helpful. And because it is so easy, I even use it when I need to pump at home and don't want to deal with the electric pump. It's just a great, versatile pump (meaning it's been great for travel and regular use).
The pump does make some noise when hand pumping, but it's not terribly loud. Sometimes my hand would get tired pumping, but it wasn't too much of an inconvenience, I would just switch hands or change the way I was using my hand to pump. I have never noticed that I get less milk from using this pump than I do when I use an electric pump. The bottle it came with was great. The natural nipple is perfect. It's actually my baby's favorite bottle to use and we have tried several. It is easy for him to hold and the flow and suck is perfect for him.
I definitely recommend this pump.

This pump was received from the weeSpring Parent Panel for my honest review.

Definitely a Pump To Try Out!
April 15, 2018
I don't usually use pumps on the regular, but this was definitely a pump I wanted to try out! When the weeSpring Panel asked me if I wanted to try it out, I immediately signed up to be a tester! I've used electric pumps before, but never a manual, and that was what excited me! Electric pumps can be so bulky, heavy to carry around, time consuming to set up, and most importantly, extremely conspicuous (noise, wires, heavy stand), etc. Many moms don't have time nowadays, and need a quick solution to pump for their babies/children! The Philips Event Manual Breast Pump is the answer for just that! It came put together in the box so you can literally see JUST how easy it is to put together and use. Taking it apart was not difficult whatsoever, and neither was cleaning it out. There's not as many pieces as an electric pump, so it makes for less cleaning and setting up time for moms (or dads)! That is a huge win right there, especially if you're using this pump for work! Using it was also super easy! You just center the breast shield on your nipple, squeeze the handle, and pump away! WOW. Imagine not having to worry about the noise or carrying around a million bulky items! The breast shield is extremely comfortable as well, as it has a nice textured, soft plastic piece over the hard plastic shield, making it very comfortable to pump in. My only complaint is that it felt as though the pump didn't have as much suction, so it took a second to get the flow going. Besides that, it's still a great buy. There's many pros to getting it, such as easy on the wallet, small, and easy to use. The cons for me would be less suctions, and you lose a free hand (but honestly, does that matter?). If you're looking for an alternative to electric pumps, this is the product for you! Thanks weeSpring for letting me test it out!

Great Pump For On The Go
April 15, 2018
I received the Phillips Avent Maual Breast Pump from the WeeSpring Parent Panel and it has now become my go to pump. I can quickly and easily pump milk in a matter of minutes. What I love most about the advent is, it is incredibly easy to take apart to clean/sanitize before and after use. The only thing I have found difficult is I have to occasionally detach and reattach the pump while using because there is too much pressure. The more I use it the more the problem is resolving itself; so I think this problem is more due to user error. I would definitely recommend this pump to moms who need to pump on the go.

I was given this manual pump to try as part of the weeSpring Parent Panel. My daughter still wakes at 3am and i work full time so i will do anything I can to get me back to bed quickly after she eats. To keep my supply up, I would pump once she finished nursing, but with the manual pump, i can nurse on one side and pump the other without having to deal with tubes and buttons to push like with the electric pump. I don't feel like I get as much milk as the electric pump, which is expected, and that's the only reason I didn't score 5 stars.

Couldn't get much milk
April 15, 2018
I only used this pump a handful of times because I was never able to express much milk with it. The first problem for me was that the flange was too wide for my nipple so I ordered the smaller size and I think that helped. I only knew to do that because I had to do the same thing with my electric pump. It would be nice if this product came with the small, medium and large in case your nipples aren't the exact size of the medium, but oh well. For me, even with the small size, I wasn't able to express much milk. I found the positioning awkward to do with one hand, and it makes a squeak, so, not easy and not discrete. I was hoping to use this when on trips to not have to lug my electric pump and also while my baby is nursing on the other side for the times he only feeds on one side, but it was too clunky and loud for that to happen. As far as cleaning goes, it's a hassle just like every other pump because there are so many parts. I wouldn't say it's harder than other pumps but I find the whole pump cleaning world to be a pain in the butt. Also, the bottles from this brand don't work well for my baby because even the smallest flow nipple is too fast. All in all, I would not recommend this product, but also, I find these things to be so personal that who knows, it might work for you. Please note, I was given this pump to try as part of the weeSpring Parent Panel.
