We got a few advent bottles for our newborn nd they were great they even have these little plastic container things that go inside of the bottle that you can throw away which makes clean up easier

I recieved this set as part of a reward from my insurance company, but i love this set. I started using this on my third child. My oldest is 17, and man do I wish I had this for him when he was a baby. The design is perfect and so easy to put together. Really useful in yhe middle of the night when sleep-deprived. I can even put them together in the dark, when trying not to wake husband, which is very helpful. My LO has had no problems with stomach issues that my older child did with other bottles in the past. I will definitely give this to the next mommy having a baby. It's a must have.

I loved this set the bottle brush I love and the pacifier covers have me hooked!!!! All paci's should have them! The bottles have worked best for my little guy. I am a big fan of these bottles! They have the least amount of parts and I have tried at least 5 other brands. Which when your cleaning a lot of bottles it makes a difference! I really like the inserts they help keep the nipple full and when my LO started sitting up and using the Sippy Cup handles she didn't struggle one bit to get milk out. She also reduced her spit up after using these bottles. Now she has little to no spit up each bottle. My Lo liked the pacifiers too, these are the first ones that have the plastic/hard back that she would take! The only other pacifier she will use are the smoothies. The formula dispenser worked really well and was easy to clean. I like how the dispenser divider comes out because after she is done with formula I can use it for snacks or something else.

Full disclosure, I was given this gift set to review by the WeeSpring parent panel. My son was 7 months old when we received it, so he's transitioning from low to higher flow bottle nipples and we've been experimenting with sippy cups. He has a tendency to be gassy and refluxy so we usually use t bottles that correct for that. I was a bit skeptical about testing other brands of bottles because we had done so well with what we were using brands but I was definitely pleasantly surprised. No spit up incidents as a result of using the bottles. We also really, really love the sippy cup trainer attachment. My son uses it constantly as he's starting to feed himself. Another surprise win was the bottle brush which is great at cleaning and easier to hold than some of the round-topped brushes you normally find. All in all it's a great bottle starter set and I would highly recommend and/or get it as a shower gift.

The Philips Avent Gift Set was a perfect opportunity to try multiple types of Philips products all at once rather than seeking out each item separately. I used a diff brand of bottle with my first 2 children and then for the first few months with our 3rd baby before trying these bottles. In comparison I really thought the Philips Avent bottle did reduce how much my baby was spitting up and needing to be burped. Assembly of the bottle is simple and easy to use even during night time feedings. Also giving you the different nipple flows in the set was great as you never know when baby will need to move to a faster rate and it's great to be prepared ahead of time. I wish the bottle brush that came in the set had something that could clean the bottle insert but it's still manageable. I love the handles that you can combine into any of the bottles and the transition to. It's really been handy with working on a good start of transitioning from bottle to cup. We received the Philips AVENT newborn starter gift set to try as part of the weeSpring Parent Panel. We are a household with 2 children, one child who is 13 and one child who is 7 1/2 months old, so we were very excited to use this product, as we had only used one specific bottle brand for both babies. This set is perfect for adding to your baby registry, giving as a gift to someone or even purchasing it on your own. We would for sure give this as a gift! Perfect starter or even completer set, as it has everything you need to get started all in one box. We received gender neutral white/clear, which came with 2 - 4 oz bottles with #1 flow nipples and 2 - AirFree vents, 2 - 9 oz bottles with #2 flow nipples and 2 - AirFree vents, 1 - My First Transition Cup with #1 flow nipple and 1 - soft spout, 1 - bottle brush, 1 - formula dispenser, and 1 - orthodontic pacifier. Disclaimer: we have not yet used the transition cup of the soft spout. However, we have used all of the other great items in the set. PROS: We noticed a reduction in spit-up, and gas, which is A+ right there, right!? All items are very easy to clean with the bottle brush. The bottles fit in both bottle pockets of both of the diaper bags we own ( our other brand bottles did not ). The formula dispenser is very nice to have. CONS: Not really cons, just preference. I would have loved if the pacifier glowed, but no complaints about the pacifier itself, baby used it without a problem. This is a great set for new parents, especially one planning on formula feeding at some point. I breastfed for a few months so I wouldn't have registered for something like this, but it would have been helpful to have on hand right away. But once I started formula feeding, these were great--especially the formula dispenser. Made it super easy to take formula on the go- never spilled. My son doesn't suffer from reflux or a lot of spit up, so I can't say whether or not the air flow inserts in the bottles really helped or not, but it was super easy for him to drink and he loved holding onto the handles from the my first transition cup.

The pacifer is great too, especially the hygienic traveling case. I don't know why all pacifers don't come with something like that! Made it easy to toss in the diaper bag and go.

The only thing I didn't like about this set was the bottle brush. I don't feel like the bristles ever go super sudsy and it was hard to tell if it was really cleaning. But it's a great shape for getting inside bottles and nipples for thorough cleaning. Maybe I just need bubblier soap!

My three month old was diagnosed with reflux issues at five weeks. Due to nursing issues and medical needs, he breastfeeds and takes formula. He receives a bottle at least once a day.

We tried the Philips Avent's bottle with air free vent. Our son, due to reflux, frequently spits up after feedings and even projectiles sometimes. After using the air free vent, we noticed his spit up occurred less often and he did not seem to be in as much discomfort during feedings. (He will sometimes arch his back if he is uncomfortable as a result of reflux.)

The formula dispenser was great to throw in his diaper bag for daycare. I work part-time and the formula dispenser had room for enough formula for three 8-oz bottles. More than enough for him for a full day at daycare, if needed. I also used the formula dispenser on a recent family vacation. It was great not needing to bring a large, bulky container to prepare bottles.

A point of frustration I had with using the bottles was finding where the air free vent was located. I would fill the bottle up with water and formula then feed the bottle to my son. By the time the bottle was full, it was difficult to see where the green air free vent was located. This is important since the directions call for the air free vent to be up to avoid air intake. Sometimes we would have to wait until our son drank some of the formula in order to ensure we had the bottle positioned properly.

Another minor issue I encountered was having enough room for the water and formula AND air free vent. Making a full 8 oz bottle was a tight squeeze to fit everything in. Sometimes the formula tended to stick to the air free vent if I tried to shake the bottle for mixing purposes. I learned to mix the formula THEN add the air free vent from trial and error.

Overall, we are new fans of the bottles and continue to use them daily for our son. With a reflux baby, we love having something that cuts down on the spit ups and discomfort!

I really love this Gift Set. It arrived at my home 2 days after my baby was born and I was amazed at how perfect it was! It had everything I needed to start out. It was so well thought out, with the pacifiers, bottles, bottle brush etc. Since I have a toddler too, I used the full set between the two of them. My baby did not like the pacifier (I think it was too hard and straight for him) but the bottles were great. I love the clear color pallet, with no designs or cutesy characters. I think this is a great thing to give as a gift by a baby shower, as it is a great starter set

In general I like Philips Avent products. They are well made for the most part.

After trying this bottle I really like it. I like the shape, style and feel of it. I've tried other Philips Avent products and for some reason I like this one best so far. It seems like less bottle and is easier to handle.

I think this is a great baby shower gift and encourage new parents to try these. Philips is a good brand and definitely worth the try. They are sold everywhere and when you want to get additional parts its easy to find in stores and online.

The good: You get two different nipple sizes so you can switch them as baby grows. My daughter is four months and we used the level 2 nipple and it flows more than expected but, she is handling it well. I think she is liking that she doesn't have to work so hard to get the milk. The level 1 nipple would still work if all the 2's were being washed so lucky us!
The parts are very easy to clean. We've used this bottle a few times and I can verify no colic!! I like the feel of the bottle in my hand and how easy it is to handle.
The pacifier is simple but cute and comes with a little cover which is perfect for travel. I thought it was nice to be able to grab it and put it in my picket on my way out the door with out the chance of getting any lent on it. The transition cup handle is easy to attach to any bottle. I tried it with my four month old daughter and she likes to hold one side while I feed her. She's not quite ready for me to stop holding yet but, it is great that she already is getting used to the feel.

The not so good: Even with the nipple super secure it seems I got very small leak out the top of the bottle once or twice. The anti colic air-free vent is easy to install but, you have to turn the bottle around to a certain angle to get the milk to flow in. Nothing tricky but, I started feeding her with out looking at the direction and the milk wasn't coming through. Once I turned it the nipple filled with milk and stays filled to not get any air through which is why it works so well for anti-colic. Just something to note, not a deal breaker. The brush is nice and sturdy but, seems like too much brush for the size of the bottles and not practical for cleaning the nipples.

I love that this set came with a soft spout that will be a nice transition to a sip cup kind of thing with the handle.

I definitely recommend this set since it comes with so many components. I feel like being a new parent it is best to have a lot of things on deck so you don't always have to run out to buy and try. Also it's a better deal to get all at once instead of buying separately.

This is a nice gift set. The nipples on the bottles are very soft and my baby accepted it easily. I am doing a mix of formula feeding and breastfeeding and have no problem with my baby switching back and forth between the two. I really liked that this gift set came with so many items. Unfortunately, I didn't like the AirFree vent. I found them difficult to clean and they didn't help reduce gas for my baby. I have not yet been able to use the transition cup since my baby is not old enough.

I used Medela bottles that came as part of my breast pump set for the first three months. Once I received this set though, these bottles quickly became my baby's preference- and mine as well. They are easy for my baby to hold, the wide mouth makes them easy to clean, and they do awesome in the dishwasher. The nipple is thicker than most - it feels very durable and I love it. The bottle somehow vents so the nipple never deforms as she feeds without breaking. By far the best I have used, and I have tried 5+ brands. I wish the set came with more bottles but I have stocked up since.

The sippy cup transition nipple is such a great idea, and I will start using this in the next few weeks. Same with the handle adapter for the bottles.

The bottle brush wasn't my favorite... it is difficult to get the crevasses. The formula dispenser is useful on the go.

I love the Philips Avent Gift Set and enjoy the fact that there are multiple accessories. I desired to exclusively breastfeed my second baby, so I didn't purchase many bottles. She stopped nursing when she was nine months old. My supply decreased, and I had to supplement with formula while pumping since she only took bottles. Fast forward to the birth of my third child, and I wanted to be better prepared if there was a change in the plan to exclusively breastfeed. From the beginning, my son has spit up copious amounts after every feeding. He is now almost six months old, and the bottles from the Philips Avent Gift Set seem to help in reducing the quantity of spit up. I am excited for him to use the sippy cup accessory when he starts holding his bottles himself, which will be here before I know it. The bottle brush is sturdy and effective, though I wish it was designed to stand upright. By the time I started using the set, my son no longer needed a pacifier as he preferred his thumb. I also haven't needed to use the formula dispenser, but if I face any of the challenges I encountered while breastfeeding my second child, I am glad that I have it. I'll start off by saying that I received this product as part of the weeSpring Parent Panel. It was a perfect match because we were Philips Avent bottle users with my now 2 year old and planned on using Avent bottles with my now 3 month old. We love Avent bottles. We had a great experience two years ago and I was really excited to see the update! Our new baby spits up. A lot. He also gets really gassy. This set seemed perfect! Unfortunately, we didn't see a huge change. Maybe because he's still so young? I'm also concerned that if I were to bring these to daycare for him they wouldn't be used the right way every time. You have to hold them in a specific way in order for them to work properly. That being said, they're good for home use and we'll definitely keep trying. It's also worth noting that my son is mostly breastfed and only uses bottles at daycare or if I'm at work and he's home with my wife. You can always take the anti-colic piece out and use them as normal bottles, that's what we plan on doing for daycare. My son is a big fan of the pacifier, that's saying a lot for a breastfed baby!! He holds it in his mouth well. It also comes with a bottle brush, love it! It's the same as the previous brush. I like that it's just bristles not a sponge like other bottle brushes so it will last a lot longer!! This set really does have everything you need! It would be a great gift for new parents!

I loooove this gift set. Particularly the pacifiers! Our girls have always been partial to the Philips Avent pacifiers. I was also having a difficult time getting my 3 month old to take a bottle before I returned to work, and these are the only bottles she has taken! She is 4 and a half months old right now. Before your baby is born, it is difficult to know which bottles, pacifiers, and eventual sippy cups they will prefer. Every baby has its preference, which is why products like this that let you sample an array of different products are so helpful. In this particular package, my baby did well with the bottle, and my toddler liked the sippy cup (which is a feat, because he's very picky about them). I am mainly breastfeeding, so it is important to me to have a slow-flow bottle that my baby can transition back and forth with well, and this bottle was perfect for that. Additionally, I have to be careful what we use because of our baby's reflux, and this bottle did not seem to worsen it. It helps with reflux when a bottle reduces the amount of air baby takes in while feeding. As for the pacifier, however, my baby had no interest in it. It's shape is slightly different from the brand he usually uses and he would not take this particular shape. First of all, this is a really nice bottle starter set, especially if you or the parents-to-be plan on using formula- It comes with five bottles 3- 4 oz bottles and 2- 9 oz bottles, a pacifier and a soft spout (which I don't really know what to do with for now) It also comes with a formula dispenser and a bottle brush.
Let's start with the bottles, even though my baby is EBF, she does take bottles of expressed milk when I'm at work. Luckily, she likes the Avent low-flow nipples! Does it really prevent colic? In our case, these bottles seem to be working just fine. Plus these Avent bottles are compatible with the Avent breast pump. The bottle parts are easy to clean. My baby also loves the pacifier.
While we're not using formula, the formula dispenser makes a perfect snack dispenser, which is awesome for my three year old! Don't forget the bottle brush- I really like the brush for cleaning because it's simple and effective, though the bristles are pretty firm.
I would recommend this starter pack for your registry and hope it works as well for you as it does us.

The Philips Avent Gift Set is filled with many goodies that make the perfect gift for a first-time mom! There are so many different aspects to feeding, and this set helps a new mom cross off several items on the list. A huge timesaver to trying to piece everything together! My baby really took to the bottles, and that's not always an easy thing for babies! He was prone to getting an upset stomach that used to make him super fussy, but the bottles really helped comfort his belly. He has less spit up and gas when we use them!

While the bottles are the biggest items, the other pieces really make it a complete package. The bottle brush is very helpful and you know you are getting the bottles really clean because of it reaching all parts of the bottle inside - something that is pretty impossible with a regular sponge. And, it's a great piece to have so you can dedicate it to only washing baby bottles and therefore you have a better chance of eliminating the risk for contamination. While he hasn't used it yet because he is too young, I am excited for when he'll be able to use the sippy cup, and it's nice to already have one on hand. Because he is already used to the Avent bottles, I'm anticipating a smooth transition to the sippy cup. We haven't used the formula dispenser yet because at the moment we are exclusively breastfeeding, but it's a relief to know we have it in case we need to supplement. Lastly, the pacifier completes the set! My son really took to it and the best part to me as a mom is that it comes with a cover - something that I didn't even know existed! So I can easily through it in the diaper bag and know that it will be nice and clean when by baby needs it.

This is an excellent gift set for anyone with a new baby or going to have a baby. I would definitely recommend adding this to your registry. This set comes with everything you would need in terms of feeding milk for the first year. The bottles are the perfect size for newborns and also feature larger ones to use later in the first year. They fit in your hand nicely and I imagine easy for babe to grip when he feeds himself. I have a "gassy" baby and these bottles were the perfect fit for him. I felt that he did not have excess gas after feeding him with these bottles and he was comfortable after feedings. They are very easy to clean because there are minimal pieces. The brush that comes with the set is extremely nice as it can reach small spaces and cleans nicely. It easily packs for travel as well. My baby was really struggling with gas. She would get SO uncomfortable, almost every day, and cry when trying to pass gas. She also spit up a lot. These bottles really made a difference. She still gets gassy and spits up, but both are much better than before. I also really like that the nipples and inserts are interchangeable with other Philips Avent wide neck bottles. The last thing busy parents need is to have to dig around for matching parts! So great that these fit the bottles I already had. Its also really nice that the vent pops in so easily - some other anti-cholic bottles are such a pain to assemble. Having an extra bottle brush and the handles for the sippy cup has also been great. My daughter is just starting to grab stuff, so she can practice that new skill with the handles while she eats, since they fit the bottles. We exclusively use breast milk, so I haven't used the formula dispenser - but it looks like it should work well for snacks when she starts table foods. We only use the slow nipples, as we don't want her to develop an aversion to breastfeeding. My baby didn't like the pacifier, but she's very picky - I know other people who have the same or a similar one and it works for them.

Overall, I would definitely recommend this as a shower gift or registry item. Its been great for us as exclusive breastfeeders, and I think it would be even better for families that use formula.

The Philips Avent Bottle set is great. It has bottles with a few size nipples and some items that our now 8 month old can graduate to as he begins to drink water from a sippy cup. I think the quality of the Philips Avent bottles is great. They are durable, can be dishwashed, and ultimately have lasted us for several months already. I highly recommend. The only negative is that the 4 oz bottles were not very useful for us. My son moved from drinking 2-3 oz pretty quickly to 6 so we never were able to use small bottles.

Even though I'm exclusively breast feeding my second son, I'm still getting a lot of use out of the Phillips Avent Gift Set. When I first came home from the hospital, I was supplementing and pumping while I established my breast milk supply. I used the 4 oz bottles for both expressed breast milk and formula. Now that my milk has come in, I'm pumping once a day and my husband is using the bottles to feed our son. I like that the AirFree vent is easy to clean, much easier than other bottles brands where you have to use special tools to clean the vents. I don't think the vent made much difference with spitting up because my son still spits up quite a bit, but he isn't in any discomfort. The formula dispenser is designed well. The handle makes it easy to open in order to fill up the compartments and it turns smoothly. My son was not a fan of the pacifier, but it takes trial and error to find one your baby likes, so it's nice that the set includes one. I also like that the set includes the larger bottles, the sippy cup handle and soft spout for when my son is older. One of my favorite things in the set is the bottle brush. It's so nice that it is included in the set, plus, it works well and is easy to use. The best thing about this set is you'll be able to use it for more than a year and you'll be able to use it if you're formula feeding or breastfeeding, which is why I would recommend it for expecting parents or as a shower gift. My baby didnt spit up after using these bottles and really liked the wide base as it was easy for him to hold. I would definitely recommend this gift set to new patents for their babes. My son had ZERO issues with gas or tummy troubles after starting on these bottles. The bottle brush is super easy to use and cleans really well. I prefer this bottle brush over any other I've used. The formula cup with removable insert is by far one of my favorites as well. We actually already had one and I was very glad to have another. It has an insert with 3 compartments to carry separate, ready to go formula servings, or you can take it out and have a snack cup! This gift set is going on my go to list of baby shower gifts.

The set includes both small and large bottles, one piece valves for each, nipples in two different flow rates, a bottle with sippy nipple and handle for seamless transition, a bottle brush, pacifier with cap and formula container. We love avent bottles. Were previously using older style wider bottles so I was worried a bit about how baby would take to these, but he did great. He has reflux and I definitely appreciate the valve that's designed to reduce air intake. Super simple to use and clean-unlike other valve system bottles. Also great that they can be used with or without the valve, as suits your needs or preferences.
My son is now eating solids as well, and having this sippy cup already on hand to try out was great. Since familiar with the shape and look already, was not distracted by new shapes, colors, graphics and though he hasn't mastered the sippy just yet, we've been happy with the performance of this one as a first training cup.
We don't use formula but love the container for taking baby snacks on the go! It closes well and is easy to clean and fill.
I was skeptical of the pacifier since it didn't closely resemble others my son takes but he took right to it. I love that it's clear and that there is no top or bottom, so he can get it placed correctly on his own.
The biggest surprise to me was the bottle brush. It didn't look like others I've used through the years, and I had preconceived notions that it wouldn't work well or would be too rough. Boy was I wrong. Don't judge a book by its cover-this thing is the best brush I've ever used! It cleans well, doesn't scratch but maintains its shape better than any others out there, gets into all the nooks and crannies, and dries wonderfully.
A breastfeeding mom who will only need a few bottles a day could easily make it from newborn through bottle weaning and beyond with this set, with no need to purchase extras. I would absolutely recommend adding this set to the registry for expecting parents, whether planning to breast or bottle feed and think it would make an excellent shower gift!

I received the product free from the weeSpring Parent Panel. My baby was not a fan of the Philips Avent nipples, they are too round. Philips should offer different nipple shapes/lengths to suit baby preferences. However, the anti-colic vent is much easier to clean than other baby bottle brands with anti-colic parts! I like the shape of these bottles, easy to hold and see the volume. My baby rejected the pacifier, it too was not flat enough. The bottle brush and formula dispenser are great! The brush is narrow and easy to get into the bottle without splattering water everywhere and the formula dispenser is an awesome diaper bag addition. It is a great starter gift set for registries.

These Avent bottle were our absolute favorite. Our little one had no issue with the nipples, and switching between these and nursing was a breeze (and very important for us!)! The entire set was great - for my husband to be able to know the formula was already measured and prepped in the dispenser for use when I was out of town, and the brush made cleaning a breeze. The shape of the bottles was also great as our little one has started to hold the bottle - it's easy for little hands! I received this product from the weeSpring Parent Panel, and am so glad I did! We received the Philips Avent Gift Set as part of the weeSpring Parent Panel. I love this set! I have an 8 month old breastfed baby who has had trouble taking a bottle but is now easing into it more. The additional piece that goes into the bottle to help prevent baby from swallowing air bubbles is fantastic, so easy to insert and take out to clean. My daughter rarely burps after breastfeeding and after using these bottles as well. LOVE the sippy cup transitional nipple and handles that can go on any bottle. My now 8 month old loves holding her own bottle and these handles are so perfect for her and can easily be taken off and placed on any Avent bottle. We have been using the smaller bottles so far but I can see us using the larger bottles as she gets older! My daughter gets frustrated with the slow flow nipple so we have been using that fast flow nipple and those are great for her. She is still getting used to the sippy cup nipple, but she is very interested in it and has used it numerous times. The bottle brush is a great brush for cleaning the bottles when we're done with them. The bristles are firm enough to scrub the bottles but soft enough that they don't scratch or ruin the bottles. I would recommend this set even if you exclusively breastfeed your baby because the formula dispenser is actually perfect for snacks on the go! We don't use formula but I love the dispenser that came with this set and so we use it for snacks for my daughter and I can see it coming in very handy as she gets older and we need more solids on the go. Overall, I was really impressed with this set.

First of all, a big thank you to the weeSpring Parent Panel for providing this awesome gift set! We were blessed with a baby that did not have colic, but she spit up (a LOT) and was very gassy. We had already purchased the Avent anti-colic nipples, which honestly were minimally effective, but the new AirFree vent system was a significant improvement. They did not 'fix' the problem, but made a big difference! I plan on ordering more of these vents for the rest of our Avent bottles. I like the slimmer bottle design (the vents also fit the older Avent bottle design), and I love that the set includes a formula divider container which is perfect for traveling. It's also awesome that this set comes with several 4oz and 9oz bottles, as well as a convertible sippy cup for transitioning! This set would make a great baby shower gift, and I'd definitely recommend adding it to a registry!

I love that it comes with two different bottle sizes. As my son's food intake increases, I am still able to use the set. The bottles are also interchangeable with the Philips Advent breast pump I have which makes things very convenient as a nursing mother. Though my son is breastfed, we were still able to use the formula dispenser to store some finger foods. The attachment handles to convert the bottle to a sippy cup has been a good transition piece for us as well. My only complaint is that the brush is a bit big and the sippy cup handles spin.

As a FTM and a breastfeeding mother, I dreaded returning back to work, especially due to the fact that my breastfed baby refused practically every bottle I tried. I tried at least 5+ different brands of bottles/ nipples and my baby refused every one and tolerated only one when I returned to work after he was almost 5 months old. When we received the Philips Avent Gift Set to try as part of the weeSpring Parent Panel it was a Godsend! The bottle he tolerated before was a struggle as he would only drink an ounce or two at a time and now with the Philips Avent Anti Colic bottles he can drink an entire bottle at feedings! The nipple has a wider base which he prefers. Not only are they a breeze to clean and assemble, he is spitting up less and a lot less gassy! Less gas equals a happy baby, which means a happy mommy! It also comes with the training handles for him to learn how to hold his bottle himself and he's becoming a pro! Although he doesn't use formula, the formula dispenser was still useful for his little puff snacks! Just fill it up and toss in the diaper bag! I thought the pacifier would be the only item that wouldn't get any use as he has also refused every one we have tried, it was actually the perfect size for him to hold while he was teething to smooth his sore gums! This gift set is the perfect gift for any expectant mothers! This is now my number one recommendation for any breastfeeding mothers! This gift set comes with 5 bottles, a pacifier, a sippy lid and.. best of all... a bottle brush that is amazing for washing not only these bottles but many other hard-to-wash items! The handles for the smaller bottles are really excellent for my baby to grip, and made it easier to get the hang of bottle drinking (transitioning from breastmilk). This is a really helpful set even though I never used formula, the anti-colic tops made it easier for my son to drink water and not swallow too much gas. He seemed to not have more gas than usual after drinking from these bottles.

These are great bottles, with a nice wide opening so it's easy to dump powder formula in them. My baby easily drinks from the nipples as well, no issues there. My favorite product in this gift set is the travel formula holder. It has been a total game-changer for us and enables us to prepare formula bottles on the go so that we don't need to use ice packs or coolers. Overall this is a perfect gift set between the bottles and the formula holder. I use these products every day and have no complaints! I was given this product to try as part of the weeSpring Parent Panel. I really love the line of Philips Avent bottles. The two sizes are perfect as my baby has grown to go from the small bottles up to the larger, and now we are utilizing the small bottles again as her formula intake has decreased. Overall I am so happy with the nipples on these bottles as I have never had much of any spit-up issues with my daughter and I think that has a lot to do with keeping the air out of the bottles. The cleaning brush that comes with the set is very easy to use and goes with the shape of the bottles making washing up simple and quick. Overall I think this set is a great way to get enough supplies to try out new bottles so I think it would be a good purchase for new parents or a great gift for expecting parents.

When I opened the box from WeeSpring Baby I was excited to see that they had sent me the Philips Avent Newborn Starter Gift Set to test. It includes 5 oz bottles with level 1 nipples, 9 oz bottles with level 2 nipples, a pacifier, a formula dispenser, a bottle brush, a sippy cup nipple and handles.

Finding a bottle that both the baby and the parents like can start to feel impossible. Especially if your baby is breastfed or has any feeding issues. I have two main things I look for in bottles; ease of cleaning and no leaks. I like bottles with fewer pieces and a lid that prevents leaks. So I was apprehensive about trying a bottle with a vent but this set surprised me.

First of all I was impressed by the overall design of these bottles. As a mom to three under three I don't have the patience for baby items with unnecessary parts to wash and keep track of. These anti colic bottles have a vent but they only have one more part than your traditional bottle because the vent is all one piece. Even better they can be used without the vent as well. Although I did find that my little guy got gassier without it. However I could hear him taking in some air both with and without the vent towards the end of the bottle. I will say that it did work for upright feeding although holding the bottle completely horizontal didn't work. We did have to tilt it a bit.

Usually I avoid bottles with vents. I don't enjoy scrubbing tiny little pieces then carefully drying them to avoid mold and mildew. But I'm actually very happy with this vent design. First of all it just looks cutting edge. It's comprised of teal colored hard plastic and a soft clear silicone. Secondly it doesn't seem to have any areas for mold growth.

I was pretty doubtful of the company's claims that it was going to be easy to wash and that I wouldn't need any special tools. But I dove in anyway, armed only with the included bottle brush. To my surprise I was able to clean the entire bottle with ease including the nipple, ring, and the vent which took about two seconds to wash and I left it to air dry with the other pieces. Just to be sure I tried cleaning everything with the bottle brush I already owned and I found that while I didn't like it as much as the one Avent provided it still did the trick.

I did have a few complaints with the bottles. The first being that the nipples are very fast flow. My son is six months old and breastfed but he takes bottles well and doesn't tend to have any problem going back and forth. However the size 1 nipple (their slowest flow was a bit fast for him). When held upside down milk steadily drips out, and while eating extra milk would spill out of his mouth. Bearing this in mind we tried the size two nipples to find them understandably twice as fast. My son had to stop to take breaks and even with those, he still finished an oz in minutes. For a breastfed baby the nipple flow is fast, and I would like it if they had a slower flow option.

My second complaint is honestly a big one. The dreaded leaking. I had carefully pumped a little over 2 ozs then put the bottle on the bed with the cap on. About 15 minutes later when I picked up the bottle I found a little less than an oz in the bottle and the remaining milk leaked all over my bed. Also when unscrewing the lid milk would often spill out and there were some issues with milk or water leaking into the cap then out. However this wasn't a consistent problem.

The sippy cup is also a bit fast flow (at least for my breast fed baby), but he took to the soft spout right away. He seemed a bit confused by the handles but since they fit into the side bottle pockets of my diaper bag I like them. You can also use the separate vent with the sippy cup although I don't think you're really supposed to. It is nice to be able to use the same base pieces. However it didn't fully pass what I like to call the "throw test". When thrown on the floor some water splashed up which isn't that bad but the vent on the nipple wouldn't work anymore causing water to leak copiously. I find that in our house sippy cups need to be made with near military grade materials if they are to last more than a few days. This sippy cup essentially broke after two throws. Which would be a problem for me.

However I don't have any complaints with the bottle brush, pacifier, or formula dispenser. The bottle brush worked very well, even reaching into the tip of the nipple without needing a special attachment. My son who has only taken to a couple brands of pacifiers and hasn't been interested in them recently instantly liked this one. I like the little cover for the nipple that helps keep it clean, as well as the way it doesn't matter which side you face up because this allows my son to be able to replace it himself.

The formula dispenser is a pleasant gray color and felt well made. The lid snaps on and off with a piece that can be opened to dispense formula. Inside there is a removable insert that creates three sections which I liked because this allows for more customization and more thorough cleaning. We don't use formula so we filled ours with heart shaped "puffs". The puffs could be dispensed through the top. and the container fit easily into my diaper bag making it a good choice for snacks on the go.

Overall I think this is a good starter set that would make a good registry item and I love the extras that are included, but personally I'm not happy enough with the bottles to switch over to them.
