Lost signal = crying babying

This is my first time every having a problem that could not be resolved when it comes to a baby product. Bought this product July 2013 before my son was born. Started using it in about November once he started sleeping in his own room. Just recently the camera started shorting out and making a buzzing noise showing no signal on the monitor. My son's room is on the opposite side of our home so this monitor is a necessity. Call customer service and they want me to buy another camera for $90!! I've alway dealt with company's that are willing to help especially when it's the first claim. Not so much with this one.
