Nice Cradle - Horrible mattress
This Cradle review is for the Natural Sorelle Dondola Gliding Cradle. For the price, I feel the cradle itself is well made, of good quality, and as pictured. It came well packed in a flat box with no damage. The assembly directions could be better, but it is not hard to put together if you get it up off the floor. We put ours together on our kitchen island in good lighting in less than an hour. I highly recommend an elevated surface of some sort. It had a strong chemical smell right out of the box. We aired it out for a couple of weeks before using it with our little one. The mattress is another story, flimsy and cheaply made; it curls up with a cradle sheet rendering it completely useless. In order to make the mattress work until we can find a new mattress, we have put the sheet over the mattress and the bottom support (which is made of pressed board and is removable) and use a thin twin mattress pad, with the elasitic sides removed, folded up for extra padding under the sheet. This does make it difficult to change the cradle bedding in the middle of the night if you have a diaper leak or spit up. We also ordered the Breathable Baby Bumper to protect our little ones arms and legs as he likes to put them through the slats. Don't let the mattress issue dissuade your purchase, after all you don't normally get a mattress with a crib either. After hours and hours of searching in stores and shopping online this was the nicest cradle we could find for the money. We are very happy with our purchase!
