Good price, really nice seat. Recommended!
July 25, 2011
I own a Grand Caravan and the only issue was the recline forward facing and rear-facing. Rear-facing we had to use a rubber yoga mat to prop up the front of the seat because the van seats are "bucket-like" and re-facing caused the Safety 1st seat to lean to far forward. Plus we had to rig the long back strap to hook to the underside of the seat- not too much fun. *Forward facing worked a bit better since we have seats in the van that recline we were able to get the Safety 1st car seat to adjust better because even with the Safety 1st car seat in full recline it sat straight up. We used the recline position on the van seats to make a perfect fit. I think the adjustable mechanism is wonderful and so easy to adjust to our kids growth. I like the quick release harness and the re-moveable head pad. The color selection is great and the quality of the material is awesome! I feel we have made a good choice in this particular seat. We've had the seat for well over a year and it is holding up very well. Over-all the hassles didn't outweigh the quality of the car seat. I figure with the type of seats we have in the van we'd have to make adjustments regardless of the brand and make of any car seat.
Pros
  • Quality, price, features.
Cons
  • adjusting it to fit in my particular vehicle.

Great seat if child is awake
May 3, 2015
This is a very roomy and comfortable seat for my 11 month old if he stays awake... When asleep his head falls so far forward even when the seat is the most reclined position. I don't understand how to use the pool noodle and wonder Is that covered in an accident by insurance????
Pros
  • Comfortable
  • No more cry
  • Large
Cons
  • No head support for sleeping babies and no protection from the sun in eyes

Not comfy
February 25, 2014
I bought two of these for my twins and, though the seat seems to be high quality, my boys do not look comfy in it at all. Even at the most reclined position, they look far too upright. They used to love sleeping in the car, but these seats do not allow them to sleep comfortably. Their heads are always hanging forward. Might be better for older kids, but not 20 lb. 6 month olds. I will be using these as spare seats and purchasing something else. Also-the straps easily tangle and it is so frustrating to untangle them!
Cons
  • Do not recline enough
  • Straps easily tangle.

Not great
January 27, 2014
The seat isn't very padded. There are no real good cushions supporting the side if the child's head for when he falls asleep on the road, so his head hangs forward on his chest.. The crotch buckle is too tight a and pushes against him. The seat is INCREDIBLY complicated to take in and out of the car. The seat is not very stable once in the car and the 3rd reclining position still makes him sit almost completely upright. Returning it

Baby outgrew her infant carseat and at 20mos was getting too tall to be seated facing the rear. This is a soft, comfortable seat that gives maximum protection. I converts to a booster seat at the appropriate weight/age. Excellent value for the money.

This convertible seat offered the best options for my child at the best price. The quality of the seat is very good which can be seen with the sturdy construction and heavier fabric, both of which tend to be degraded in other comparable seats at this price point. My child seems to be comfortable in the seat & I love that the seat will grow with him, even offering his very own cup holder for when the time arrives! (He's only 6 months now- A touch too young for morning coffee...) Overall, I'd recommend the seat to anyone looking for a high quality, reliable seat that offers the convenience of diversity to accommodate their child's growth.

We bought this car seat for my husband's car so that he could take our baby to school in the mornings on his way to work (literally, a 3 minute drive) while I go in the opposite direction to take our other son to his school. For that quick, early morning drive, this car seat does the job! However, if you're looking for this car seat to be your all-purpose, daily car seat, I wouldn't recommend it. We ended up having to use it for a weekend while my car and the primary car seat were at the shop. It wasn't a good option for full-day use: the seat bucket is deep and the back side offers little support; so when our little one was ready for his naps, he could not lean his head back! Instead, his head would flop forward and he was bobbing his head back and forth the whole time...this also meant light sleeping which equals a cranky baby. So if you're looking for an inexpensive quick-fix for a simple daily or emergency drive, go for it! If you're looking for your main, daily car seat then I recommend going for higher quality-- I love the britax boulevard! That's what's in my car and I LOVE it!!!

Safety First seat review
April 16, 2013
The seat is well made BUT the 5 point harness system is very hard to operate. It's hard to pull out and it's hard to tighten up on the infant. So far I haven't found a cure for this and the factory isn't much help either.
Pros
  • MADE IN THE U.S.A.
Cons
  • 5 POINT HARNESS SYSTEM IS VERY HARD TO OPERATE.

can't take off cover to clean
March 19, 2013
Almost impossible to take cover off. You have to use a screwdriver and lots of patience (1 hour).Everyone needs to clean the cover and this seat makes it impossible. Friends who also have this seat said they use a damp clothbecause it is too hard to take totally off and throw in washer like other car seats! You have to in thread straps back thru the bottom clips, after you have pried them off with a screwdriver, locking clips, middle clip and head rest!!Way too complicated!!

very happy!
March 13, 2013
we are very happy with this car seat. Our son had outgrown his infant carrier but still needed to be rear facing. After reading some reviews on the size of this seat I was skeptical about it fitting in my vehicle. I have a Trailblazer and even with it reclined the whole way back it fits perfectly in the middle of the seat. If it were to be place behind driver or passenger seat it would not be able to recline the whole way or the seats would have to be slid far up. This seat will definitely take my son through his car seat and booster seat years. I love that you don't have to rethread the straps to. just a simple turn and lift of the latches. He seems comfy in it and seems to like it better than the infant carrier.
Pros
  • everything!
Cons
  • none

Good enough for the price
March 12, 2013
When carseat arrived in the box it did not look new, by any stretch of the imagination. I guess it was good enough for the price, but had obviously been used and repackaged. The cupholders were scratched on the inside, the seat was not in plastic, and the padded part of the seat was matted and looked dirty.
Pros
  • I like the seat and the price.
Cons
  • I don't like that it was not sent to us new. i probably will not recommend albeebaby to friends anymore, for this reason.

Looks better than it seems
March 11, 2013
I like the chair because I felt as though my son could use it for a while and I would get my money worth. I placed my son in the chair and noticed when he falls asleep his head slumps to the front and to the side. He had no head or neck support while sleep. As of right now my son is rear facing although it wont be for long due to his length but I don't recommend this car seat for rear facing infant. It may be ok for forward facing children but then again, their heads will probably slump to the side and forward also.
Pros
  • Multipurpose use
  • Color
Cons
  • No head support when infants are sleep
  • Does not recline very far back

Car Seat
January 1, 2012
Great carseat! Purchased one for my Grandson as an infant and just purchased a second for when he comes to visit. He is now a toddler and it still works well. Can also see where it easily transitions into a booster seat as he grows. My grandson will be a "big" guy since his father was 6.5' tall and this car seat should be the only one needed since it goes up to 100 lbs. Cup holder is easy for the 14 month old to use.
Pros
  • One carseat to take you from birth through booster seat.

I purchased this same kind of seat for my daughter two years ago. It is a nice seat but sometimes it's hard to tighten the harness. The ones I ordered for my son this time are very easy to operate and have a different kind of latch. EXCELLENT improvements!!!

The car seat is great, my only problem was that the ajustable head-rest seem to be uncomfortable for my baby who would cry when she is strapped in the seat..Besides that she loves her beautifully pwded car seat.I need to figure out how to make her more comfortable and then i will be a happy mother. Great car seat, my sitter bought the same one first my nephew and he Love it.

Good Bargain and Safe Seat
December 16, 2011
This carseat is a good investment overall and sturdy.
Pros
  • Sturdy, comfortable, many features if you read the manual. These seats were purchased as another set for my car "Oma", with 2 children under 3 years of age it was a pain to transfer seats and I did not want to invest in bases only. My grandchildren reside with me so in case of an emergency 2 sets of seats is better. These seats will last for years since they accommodate growth cycles. I do not regret the purchase. The Paternal Grandparents also purchased a set and are happy. I do think it would be a tight squeeze for a compact car but most better quality carseats would be as well.
Cons
  • The straps are not as THICK as my Eddie Bauer seats so they DO twist a little easier and you have to re-adjust.

December 7, 2011
This is the perfect car seat if you child is front facing. If you put them to the rear and they are over one, it's going to be a tight fit. Forward facing it is perfect. Good construction, quality material. Cup hold is a little unsturdy but i really don't use that one anyways. Great car seat for the money. This is our second one!
Pros
  • Quality material and construction.
Cons
  • Tight fit for rear facing over 1yr, not so sturdy cup holder.

Love it. My son also really enjoys it! He always cried in the car in his infant carrier but now in this one he just falls asleep, it's great! Also I love how the arm rests go up and down, it makes getting him in and out so easy!

I love this carseat! We are so excited that it will last my daughter until she is ready to move out of a booster and into a regular seat. She loves being out of the infant carrier. The carseat is as much of a headache to install as any carseat is using the latch system. I don't know of a seat that isn't a pain to install. The carseat has instructions are easy to follow. Overall, I'm very pleased with this seat!
Pros
  • Versatility

Overall we really liked the seat
October 23, 2011
We bought two of these seats (one for each car) in March 2010 and have been using them daily ever since then. We have only used them forward facing. The seats have held up well and the material doesn't show any signs of the wear and tear that my very active 2.5 year old puts on the seat. We liked that it came with a cup holder although the cup holder doesn't really securely attach and has long since been tossed aside by us. My son also enjoys having arm rests. The only thing that I don't love about the seat is that it can be a bit quirky to install. It probably took us about 20 minutes to get it right the first time. We have a Jeep Grand Cherokee and installing the seat in the middle of the backseat was a bit of a challenge. We also have a Chevy Traverse and I found that it actually installed more easily in the bucket seat.
Pros
  • Material holds up well
  • Well made seat
  • Arm rests
  • Cup holder
  • Price
Cons
  • Quirky to install
