Description
Designed for use in either the rear-facing or forward-facing positions, the RECARO ProRIDE Convertible Car Seat offers multiple safety features such as side-impact protection, a head restraint, and a vehicle belt lock-off mechanism (forward-facing). Plus, an ergonomic shell structure, breathable mesh fabric, and easy-to-use harness and head restraint adjusters provide comfort and convenience.

Racing-Inspired Side Impact Protection

Tested to international standards, the RECARO ProRIDE offers an intelligent design that protects a child during a side-impact incident. The car seat's enhanced head wings shield the head and face while a head rest limits neck movement. For added safety, reinforcements at the sides, hips, and thighs help stabilize the torso and pelvis areas.

EasyAdjust No Re-Thread Safety Harness System

The EasyAdjust, five-point harness can be customized to properly accommodate your growing child. It adjusts with a simple turn of a knob without the hassle of rethreading any straps. TrueLock belt lock-off prevents any slippage from your vehicle's seat belt when used forward-facing.

Safety Stripe System

The RECARO Safety Stripe System is a racing-inspired white stripe that is clearly visible on the outside edge of the 5-point harness. This stripe is designed as an easy alert to parents that a twist could occur, or has begun, thus preventing a safety hazard.

Built-In LATCH System for Added Stability

Designed with a push-button LATCH system, the car seat is easy to secure to your vehicle. The car seat offers a universal top tether system as an added anchor. The rear-facing recline lever allows you to adjust the seat to best fit your vehicle's backseat.

Assembled in the United States, the car seat meets all Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards for Child Restraint Systems (FMVSS 213) and Flammability of Interior Materials (FMVSS 302). It is also certified for air travel when used with the plane's seat belt.

Comfortable, Ergonomic Seat Molds to Your Child's Shape

Featuring an ergonomic shell structure that offers support for your child, the car seat is pleasant and cozy for short errands or long road trips. The harness system features soft pads to make it more comfortable. The head restraint is designed with protective and comfortable automotive PUR foam. For comfort and safety, the soft, cushiony car seat is made with expanded polystyrene foam (EPS) that absorbs external forces.

Comfortable, Soft Seat and Convenient Pockets

For no-fuss care and maintenance, the ProRIDE car seat comes in a variety of easy-to-clean fabrics and colors. All cover materials include mesh fabric that provides a superior air circulation system to keep your child cool and comfortable during the ride. The car seat offers storage pockets to keep the loose ends of harness belts tucked neatly out of the way.

The RECARO ProRIDE Convertible Car Seat is backed by a limited one-year warranty.

Great Car Seat
September 10, 2016
I bought this car seat to use in my vehicle with my great-granddaughter. Being a retired EMS professional, safety is a major issue with me. After reading all the reviews and making comparisons, I chose this seat and am very happy with it. While it is a little difficult to install properly, it is so sturdy that I know in a crash, that child will not go anywhere. I would encourage anyone installing a car seat to go to a local fire station who has certified technicians who can assist to make sure the seat is properly installed.
Pros
  • Safety
Cons
  • A little difficult to install

Great seat, heavy and well-made
August 25, 2016
I bought this to replace a Britax convertible seat and am very happy with it. It is well made and easy to install. It is big and heavy, like any convertible seat, but I like it better than the Britax. My baby is almost 3 months and she fits great on the smallest setting, I probrably would not have used it when she was an 8lb newborn. If you can get the 'hero' straps I would recommend them, they prevent the harness from twisting.
Pros
  • easy to buckle the straps

I was a little hesitant buying from albeebaby after reading some of the reviews! Shipping from New Jersey to Utah was only 4 days after I placed the order until I recieved my item! The production date on the car seat was from the previous month! So it was a brand new straight from production! The item came in great shape and exceeded our expectations! Will buy from this company again! Would recommend albeebaby as your baby need supplier!

Great car seat!
September 28, 2015
I can't stress over how amazing this car seat is. I purchased the Maxi Cosi pria 70 and love it as well but this car seat suits my family better. The material is great and comfortable and I just love the recline feature in the front of the car seat facing forward. So easy to pull forward and recline when my daughter falls asleep in the car.

My baby love it
June 25, 2015
We originally bought a Britax Advocate for my baby. But when we put him in, he always cries all the way. It looks comfy for me, but he just did not like it. So we researched and bought Recaro. We happily found out our baby likes this one very much. We don't need to hear him cry in the car

Great seat! Very much recommend!
May 16, 2015
We have had our new recaro seat for about 2 weeks now , and we love it. our son can see out the window now compared to his old car seat and he can still face to the rear which we love because it is safer. Super easy to buckle the child in and has nice comfortable padding. Only thing I would say I did not like is that it is a struggle to get the belt through the rear facing whole compared to the front facing. Over very much recommend to all people.

Love the style but can't wait to face forward!
November 12, 2014
I really love that this product is USA built! The quality is great and the style is even greater! My only complaint is in my particular car ( 99 Toyota 4 Runner) it's really difficult to get my little one in and out since he's still rear facing. I'm really looking forward to turning it forward!

Nice seat
May 31, 2014
This is a nice comfy seat, but rear facing installation with the latch system is not nearly as simple as the marathon that I also bought for my 5 month old daughter. I had to use a rolled towel to adequately recline it, which is disappointing for the cost of the seat. The head protection is great, but also makes it difficult to take my daughter in and out of the seat when rear facing. That being said it is a high quality seat and I'm sure will be great when my daughter is forward facing.

Great with a couple of minor flaws
January 20, 2014
So far so good with this seat, except that the pocket that holds one of the straps while not in use has ripped already and the pad the fits underneath the buckle comes off every time so we don't even use it anymore. It takes a bit to get used to the bulk of this seat, but that's the point and we're happy to have our girl well-protected.

Great harness length but not the best for small cars
January 14, 2014
The Recarro Pro Ride in the rear facing set up is not optimal for compact cars with a tapered backseat opening. We still love this seat in the truck rear facing though. There is plenty of harness strap length. I bought the Chicco nextfit for my 10 month old son for use in the mercury Milan rear facing. The Nextfit is a piece of crap compared to the Recarro. The Nextfit is smaller overall but the harmess straps are too short, the harness won't tighten without taking on it and the rubber shoulder pads are annoying. Recarro has much better harness adjustability and it very easy to tighten. The only thing the Recarro Proride could use is the multiple recline positions. This would help make the Proride a better fit in compact cars. Plus the Recarro seat is made in the USA. The Chicco next fit was made in China and it shows.
Pros
  • Great harness adjustability! Made in the USA!
Cons
  • Not great for compact cars in the rear facing direction but great in a truck or vehicle without a tapered door opening. Will work great in a small car in the forward facing position.

Love this seat!
September 23, 2013
The seat fits rear facing in the center seat of my 2001 Isuzu Rodeo. I had to call the manufacturer just once to figure out if the seat belt was supposed to go over or under the foam and they were prompt to answer the phone and to answer my question (it's OVER the foam, not under). The seat arrived when Albee baby said it would and I feel so privileged to have this seat in my car. No one sells this seat where I live so it was worth waiting for. My son is 25 lbs and 31 inches long and sits rear facing in this seat just fine. The price was amazing considering what other companies were selling it for on sale.
Pros
  • Easy to install
  • Fabric is nice
  • Easy to adjust the harness and tighen and losen the belts
  • Son seems comfortable
Best Uses
  • Extended Rear Facing. Goes to 40 lbs.
  • Front Facing goes to 70.
Cons
  • For now I have to lift my son to get him in the seat but after a week we've got it down. I hit his head a couple times but we don't anymore. It wasn't worth sending the seat back for a different one- this is our seat and will be his only one until he outgrows it.

Great product, poor processing
September 18, 2013
Item is amazing, sturdy, looks great in the evo, and also appears very comfortable. In terms of the product. No complaints, processing however could have been handled better. Box had a good sized hole in it like it received a good impact, but seat without damage, so I guess that argues for the resilience of this product :)

I have three Recaro ProRides for my three kids. They look safe, have awesome crash test ratings, and what sold me was that they make race car seats so they know true protection. I also am sold on the side impact protection. Not many car seats fit a child for a side impact crash with head protection. Plus they look great. I have the midnight, misty, and blaze. Blaze is probably my favorite. The fabric on midnight is soft and looks dirty.

Spectacular CAR SEAT at a Great Value!
August 18, 2013
We were looking for a secondary car seat to put in our car for our grandson. His first car seat is a Peg Perego SIP -5-70 which we purchased from your company.Based on our research we selected RECARO. It is equal to and in some cases better than the Peg Perego.. The lower price is remarkably better! and made it an easy choice for us.
Pros
  • Very well made. Easy to use harnesses and belts. Instructions for installation and use were clear and easy to follow.

August 12, 2013
This car seat was a toss up between another britax boulevard 70. I read the reviews for the recaro and I had to try it for myself. I loveeeee this carseat. It is way easier to get my kid out of ie: the strap harness pull actually pulls out for easy in and out of buckling. The seat is more as 1 with the frame of our truck (chevy 4 door) puckup ....and does not move at all. I like how tall the seat is, I love the details of the straps padding and the harness pull. The seat feels like its made with lasting fabric. This seat is alot bigger than the britax however I feel so much more confident if there ever was an accident because he is literaaly protected on all sides around his body. I gave my 3 year old the recaro and put our 7 month old in the 2.5 year old britax backward facing and I'm really not feeling 100% about it. It's very flimsy and as tight as it can be on the seat buckle. The recaro literally doesn't move while in the forward facing seatbelt latch. I may sell my britax and opt for another recaro. The only thing I can say no to good about the recaro is : we originally bought the recaro for our new little baby and we were going to use it rear facing . I installed it correctly, even had a chp look at it and it wasn't very tight on the latch seatbelt. There was play in the seat itself when u tried to move it. AlsO when I put my son in the seat he was sitting so far forward his little head would zonk over every ride and that cannot be safe. His feet would touch the seat in front of him and he just hated the seat. It looked very awkward do I tried to recline it and it moved a lot so I just forward faced it & put my 3 yr old in it and it's awesome!!! For the price, the quality is way better than britax. I wouldn't want to travel on a plane with it though.
Pros
  • Quality fabric, comfort details in shoulder padding from seatbelt, harness pull padding, made very sturdy, good looking, very secure one in latch system, easy to take in and out. It's bigger than the britax boulevard but I feel my child is more secure, kid can see out because it is higher up.
Best Uses
  • Forward facing
Cons
  • Rear facing is weird with a little baby. The seat doesn't seem to lock in on the latch system rear facing as good as it does forward facing. Awkward rear facing baby positing -makes bb hunch fwd. some may think it is a bit big.

So happy with this seat!
August 11, 2013
I have a Britax boulevard in one car but my son is huge and well need 2 convertibles so I searched for a bigger better seat. And I found it! My son has more room in it now at 1 year and I feel like it will hold him longer than the Britax. It was super easy to install and it seems just as safe! It has a very tall base though. We have it in a Jetta and I don't think he would make it at 4 feet in the Jetta. We are getting an SUV eventually. But overall I love it.
Pros
  • Easy install
  • Side impact keep his head erect
  • Easy to use 5 point harness
  • Wide and roomy

Very pleased! I bought it for my grandson who was turning one. The latch system is a breeze so moving it to a different car isn't a problem. April 28, 2013
This is a less common brand here in the US, but I'm so glad we took a chance and ordered it - it's definitely worth every penny! This carseat is very nice looking (we actually get compliments on it when we're out), was super easy to install (we were able to get a really tight install on the first try which isn't always the case with carseats!) and seems so comfortable! Our son loves riding in it, too. The fabric is such high quality and feels so plush but also has built in ventilation spots so your baby doesn't get sweaty! All of the adjustments are easy to use even with a wiggly baby. Most importantly, this car seat EXCEEDS all US safety standards. I don't think there's a safer or higher quality carseat on the market. Honestly, I had already bought a Britax Pavilion for my car and this seat was for my husband's... And I'm a bit jealous! Just can't say enough positives about this seat!
Pros
  • Stylish, comfortable, SAFE

It was a little frustrating putting it in being a mother but having my husband made it easier! He recommended the recaro carseat when we were pregnant an didn't buy it till she turned 7 months! We bought it just before our vacation! It was so comfortable for her during the 6+ hr drive! She slept most the time and when she didn't she was back there talking to herself and playing with her toys! It has the side impact head rest to keep her head from bouncing around and as she gets taller you can twist the bar for it to raise! It keeps her safe and comfy and that makes me one happy parent! Thank you so much! Ps we are buying the upper version for my husbands car!
Pros
  • Safe, secure, comfortable for her . Only con is we had to put a towel under it to keep it leveled to the ground while rear facing, would be great if they make it recline farther back!

Best Seat You Can Buy
March 24, 2013
The Britax is good, but the Recaro is better. The Britax has a bunch of bells and whistles that are marketed as safety innovations, but seem to be more of a hassle than anything. The straps have a lot of extra positioners and tear away stitching in them that makes them harder to adjust on the Britax than the Recaro and my kid seems less comfortable in the seat. The Recaro just has simple, easy to adjust nylon straps (although the white stitching on the outside of the belt is an ingenious touch to help keep you from getting the belt twisted). The flaps to hold the shoulder belts open while putting the child in the seat are another clever, simple touch that really makes a difference in ease of use day-to-day that gives the Recaro the edge over the Britax in my opinion. Both seats have plenty of padding, but the Recaro seems to have it closer to the head, which is nice for my kid when sleeping in the car. My kid just seems more comfortable in the Recaro and fights me less getting in it, which I consider the review that counts the most.
Pros
  • More comfortable for my kid to get in the Recaro
Cons
  • None

Best Seat You Can Buy
March 18, 2013
I have this seat in my car, and the wife has the Britax Boulevard 70 in hers. This seat is SO much better than the Britax. The Britax belts are VERY hard to tighten. The Recaro needs the slightest of tugs to pull the harness tight. Everything about the Recaro was just engineered better than the Britax. Everything adjusts with ease, it installs easier (have you seen the tether on the Britax? What a joke!), and all in all it feels FAR sturdier than the Britax. I guess there's a reason professional race car drivers tend to use Recaro seats, and Britax is nowhere to be seen in motorsports. Look at it this way..if Recaro can build a seat that keeps a driver safe in a 180MPH collision, don't you think they can keep your child safe at 70? Getting ready to put the Britax up on Craigslist and get another Recaro.

I always been a Britax Fan But since i was debating between a Britax convertible car seat and this Recaro proSport for my girl 3 1/2 years old...I fianlly got this one and now I've been totally CONVERTED- I LOVE THIS RECARO brand ...it's much better structure, a little lighter than the britax But still very well made and easy to install, much softer cloths, much better design and very confy...has much more cushin the straps are better...love the handle to adjust hight ..everything is much better than the Britax...so don't settle with britax just becuse it ahs the booster seat which Recaro doesn't .it defenitely worth the money and by the time my little needs a only booster seat i can buy her one - hose are cheaper. this Recaro gives you everything you need to have your child secure and confy :)Thank you Recaro

Great Seat
December 18, 2012
I did extensive comparison between this seat and the Britax Marathon and I ultimately chose this seat because of the safety ratings and comfort. My daughter (14 mos) loves this seat. She never fusses and loves sitting upright and looking out the window. It's easy to install as a rear facing seat (until she is two) and I had it installed within 15 minutes. We purchased an "infant" carrier seat first and looking back I wish I would have purchased this seat from the very beginning. It's great for her as she grows and very durable material. I also found instructions with the seat to remove the material so I can machine wash it down the road. I have a Buick LaCrosse and this seat fits perfectly in the back seat - a little "tall" but overall fits well.
Pros
  • Durable Material
  • Protects Head/Body
  • Great Safety
  • Easy to Install
  • Rear-Facing options (easy)
  • Easy straps and connectors
  • Baby sits high and can enjoy the view out the window
  • Looks great
  • Light "Breathable" Material for Hot Summers
Cons
  • A little Tall
  • Wish there were accessories (like a cup holder) to add on

December 17, 2012
This seat is a beast! That said, I definitely feel like my child is as safe as can be. Rear facing it's a little difficult to get the kid in and out but we've gotten much better at it over time. The straps are easy to secure and adjust. Installation is pretty simple. Color was as expected. Price was great and it came quicker than expected for "free shipping" so I was happy with AlbeeBaby too.
Pros
  • safety
  • installation is easy
  • color
  • easy to adjust straps when securing child
Cons
  • It's gigantic & heavy

December 16, 2012
I have purchased several of these seats. The woman who professionally installed our car seats recommended it. We have been nothing but happy. My husband installed the 3rd one we bought. He said it was not easy, but the point is for your child to be safe, so even if it takes a while to be installed it is worth every second. We feel very secure with our children in these seats.
Pros
  • Works for both boys and girls. The colors are neutral and the material is light weight.
Cons
  • I'm not sure this is a "dislike" but the ONLY annoying thing for me is that this item is bulky, it is hard for me to see out my window. My one year old is rear facing, behind my passenger seat. I drive a lexus SUV so it blocks my vision a little.

Favorite Car Seat of the Three
July 17, 2012
I got this car seat a few weeks ago after struggling with our Alpha Omega one for the last time to get it tight enough to keep DS safe. We could not LOVE this carseat anymore than we do - it's a breeze to put in the car, I'm 7 months pregnant and have a 19 month old, anything I can do to make my life easier is a must. The harness is so smooth, when I take DS out when he's fallen asleep he doesn't even flinch. The head support is great and it's so nice that it has a dial rather than a bar or clips to move it up or down. It's very plush and DS never complains about going in it. We have a Britax Boulevard 70CS, and Alpha Omega, and now the Recaro - we will never get another brand again.
Pros
  • It's so easy to install
  • It's plush and comfy for DS
  • It's so easy to loosen and tighten keeping DS safe and secure
Cons
  • It's huge - tall and bulky not for small cars and is best forward facing, but works well rear facing, just takes up a lot of room!
  • There is no cup holder

ONE OF THE BEST CAR SEAT, BETTER THAN BRITAX. YOU CAN'T GO WRONG WITH RECARO.

You might not believe, me but I've bought 2 of this proride last month. My husband who is a car racer and asked me to get a Recaro Car seat. I was giggling and disblief there was such thing. I went against his advise and got 3 britax boulevard 70 cs ($300 and up) and I hate the sewn in velcro for the strap scratches me and my daughter. So I decided to get 2 proride just for the heck when it was on sale fo $178. I compare it side by side with Britax, I'm telling you, RECARO IS WAY BETTER THAN BRITAX. It's so sturdy, well made, wonderful strap holder, take up less space and tall enough where my daughter loves to see thru the windshield with rear facing then forward facing. YOU CAN'T GO WRONG WITH RECARO. THEY MAKE CAR SEAT FOR CAR RACER! GO GET ONE OR TWO.
Pros
  • LOVE THE HEIGHT, THE CLIP POCKET ON EACH SIDE AND THE BOTTOM WHERE IT WONT WRECK YOUR LEATHER CAR SEAT.
Cons
  • NOTHING

I have three kids and I've been used quite a few car seats and this is the best. I've been using this for 8 months now and my baby girl looks so comfortable, she just loves it. And the color, design and the quality is unbeatable. I am buying one more for my brother's son.

I looked and looked and looked for a new car seat. We had the Chicco KeyFit 30 and wanted something that was comparable in quality. I looked and looked at quite a few other seats (Safety 1st, Bitrix, Graco,) and found this to match all of my needs. I started out wanted this seat based on personal recommendations but I didn't really want to spend $300 on another seat. But after much review I decided that I knew that we needed to purchase this seat for safety reasons. I was really excited to find this seat at this price and no shipping. This made it a no brain-er! It was a breeze to install in my 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee forward facing and I sure it would have been just as easy rear facing as well. I used the latch system and it installed just as easy as the Chicco base. 11 month old baby girls seems to really love it so far:)
Pros
  • Looks, Safety features, latch system, color

Unmatched safety quality, comfort
May 14, 2012
We bought this for my son one year ago, and the comfort and safety quality is unmatched. We've used several other car seats while traveling, and the latches in the others seemed so flimsy and he looked so uncomfortable, with minimal head support, which helped me appreciate the design quality in the Recaro. Great to know my son's head is protected from a side collision, yes, but I really like that it holds his head up when he falls asleep, which is often since the seat is so comfortable for him. We live where it's hot a large part of the year so the cool fabric is a major bonus. This car seat is bulky, but the quality and sense of security is worth it!
Pros
  • Head support
  • Comfort
  • Cool fabric
  • Overall quality
Cons
  • Big and bulky

Seat is much better looking (very nice imho) and constructed than anticipated... and i had high expectations. This is the BEST PRICE ANYWHERE online! The shipping was fast, free, and the item arrived in mint condition. I was a little hesitant because this color scheme is not shown on the recaro website but the item was manufactured in march of 2012 so it is in-fact brand new and the same as the current line. I can see how these fetch $300 elsewhere as the construction is superior to many others i researched at that price point. it is easy to assemble and install but if you were switching it in/out of cars without the latch system it would be somewhat inconvenient... i expect this would be the case for all car seats rated for the same max age/ht/wt as this though. We have this installed with a rolled up blanket under the front to level it and it is still rock solid. With it leveled, as instructed to do, my daughter (11mo) really gets cozy and usually falls asleep in moments and fusses less than when in her previous seat. My wife is pregnant again and i am ordering another one shortly for my MIL to put in her car until the next baby comes and she will give it to us (2 should fill the back seat of my wife's pontiac torrent). I talked her into this as the price is negligible at albeebaby from this to the cheaper models, especially given the amount of quality. I will use our old carseat for the newborn just because it has a quick detach base and it is easy to carry the baby in but i will switch over to this much earlier than before (probably around 4 mos).
Pros
  • quality
  • albee's price
  • almost everything
Cons
  • our newer cars have latch system but i could see it being somewhat difficult to swap between vehicles if your car does not have it.
