LOVE the Tension Right!!!
June 21, 2012

For me, the worst part about using a rear facing infant car seat is the struggle to pull the strap to properly tighten the harness system on other car seat models. Once these types car seats are installed in the backseat, the bottom of the seat butts up against the backrest of the back seat. This leaves no room to reach and pull those tightening straps forward (or towards the trunk of the car) to tighten the harness. With the Evenflo Triumph 65 LX, I get a perfect and simple harness fitting every time! The Tension Right knobs are on both sides of the seat so you can put the baby in from the driver's side or the passenger side. I really enjoy hearing the click click click of the Tension Right system working as I tighten the harness over my very first little boy. Getting him out of the harness is so easy; just one click and a very easy (can do it with one finger) pull on the harness straps and they loosen as much as I need them to. The Tension Right system works so well, I can secure or remove my son from the seat while he remains sleeping. The size of the seat is not a big deal. We have it in an '09 Ford Fusion and even though I am overweight, I still fit comfortably next to my boy when I ride back there while daddy drives. The only thing I wish this car seat had was a higher weight rating and maybe a taller back or an adjustable head rest for tall kids. Don't get me wrong, I want to buy a 2nd Evenflo Triumph for my husband's car b/c I really dislike the Graco model we have in there (we got it at a garage sale). When we have to upgrade to a higher weight rated car seat, I will be looking at Evenflo for sure! If you're considering this car seat, go ahead and make the purchase. The Tension Right system makes securing your baby so easy, grandma or grandpa (or anyone with limited strength) can be confident they are securing baby the right and safe way with a simple click. If you can turn a knob and push buckle buttons, you can use this car seat with ease and be confident your son or daughter is secure and comfortable.
Pros:
Tension Right knob system; shoulder strap adjustment system; head support for my sleeping baby; simple, yet sturdy and strong design of buckles; ease of car seat installation into back seat of car.
Cons:
It doesn't have an adjustable head rest for tall kids, but by the time my son is 65lbs, he will be big enough for some type of booster.
