Description
Style meets goodness with this uniquely designed Umba print carrier by Ergobaby Guest Designer Christy Turlington Burns. Created to benefit Every Mother Counts, Christy’s non-profit dedicated to maternal health worldwide, this bold pattern originates from a small businesswoman and mother in Togo using wooden blocks to create the perfectly ?imperfect? blue and brown print. With orange accents and leather waist band, you can be sure of two things; you’ll get a lot of compliments on your baby carrier, and you’ll be supporting mothers and children around the world with your purchase.

Christy Turlington-Burns chose this authentic African fabric to merge the unique sensibilities of African textile design with a fashionable, one-of-a kind twist on products parents use every day.

The ?Umba? pattern was created by Chantal, a businesswoman in Togo, who provides for her family through textile design. Her batik method involves a specially carved wood stamp, hot wax and a white piece of cotton. Ergobaby is proud to work with The Collaborative Group, an organization that brings sustainable employment to women around the globe, to source design from the very regions served by the Every Mother Counts partnership.

Good deal

It was a good deal on this item considering others were hundreds in stores. Barely feel tired even using it for a long time. But I think it's better for 3M+ babies even it says good for NB.

Ergo baby carrier review
August 31, 2014
So far I've really enjoyed my ergo carrier. I'm a nanny for 2 infants and this carrier is really helpful in managing the two babies. The back Cary position is especially helpful. It's also comfortable on m back which is a huge plus.
Pros
  • Doesn't hurt my back. Various carry positions.
Cons
  • Can't wear the baby in a forward facing carry.

Exactly what I expected
August 28, 2014
After receiving the Ergo I was a little intimidated by it at first because there seemed like there were a hundred straps and buckles. But it's surprisingly easy once you get it set how you like it. I had previously used the Moby wrap which I loved but now that LO is older, dad would like a go at wearing baby, and did not care for the complicated wraps. The ultimate judge was baby and he loves it. Falls asleep pretty much every time and it's as comfy for me as the wrap was, which is so important.
Pros
  • Great for heavy babies
  • Love the coloring
  • Very comfy for mom and baby
Best Uses
  • Calming fussy baby
Cons
  • Working the straps took a bit of getting used to

Life saver!

I couldn't live without my Ergo. I use it on the regular not only to run errands, but to do my housework. My son loves being cuddled up to me while being toted around.
