Preferrred by our son's GI specialist
May 5, 2015
We were using another big name brand of bottles I was referred to a GI specialist. After the first visit we were asked to use these bottles due the no air system. I must admit I thought Dr. Brown's were just another big named bottle that was nothing special but pretty expensive. After buying a pack to make our dr happy, we saw very fast these are not like all the other bottles. Yes, they have 5 parts to clean but it turned out to not be a very big deal. You can also buy the dr. Brown's dishwasher basket that holds the pieces in place to be cleaned threw the dishwasher. The pieces include the bottle, a straw to keep the air out, a rubber valve for the air to escape and the nipple and collar. The bottles come with a small thin brush to hand clean the straw and valve if you wish since they are too thin for a regular bottle nipple brush to fit. All of the regular dr. brown's nipples will fit all of the standard bottles but we have found the preemie still work great for our guy even at over a year old.
Pros:no air what so ever
Cons:can be hard to clean the small parts unless you use the dishwasher basket or included cleaning brush
